The Object of Saving Faith
Paul, in Romans 4:23 - 5:17, takes his readers from the assurance of saving faith, which is acquired by trusting in God who promised salvation. First, God promised Abraham and then to all who believe with the faith of Abraham. Abraham believed that if he sacrificed his son as God instructed him, God would raise him from the dead. Hence, salvation is in the promise of God to sacrifice and raise His Son from the dead.

Reconciling Blind Men
The Bible is a book written by God to set forth His purpose to reconcile a world fallen into sin to Himself. In Paul's second letter to the Corinthians and the fifth chapter, Paul declared God's work to reconcile sinners. It then becomes the job of a reconciled sinner to be an ambassador for Jesus Christ. In John's Gospel and the ninth chapter, we see Jesus reconciling a blind sinner, who then immediately became an ambassador. In this episode, Joe Durso examines the text of John 9 and uncovers some instructive elements of what it costs to take the message of the Gospel to a world bent on rejecting it. The message of Christ results in life from the dead for those who receive it. Those who reject His message fall under a more significant penalty of judgment. God restores the former hearers. The latter sink into a deeper depth of sin's deceit. God bless you as you consider the elements of this Gospel story.

The focus of their discussion is the chapter entitled, Jesus's Defining Hour, subtitled, The Definition of God's Love. Matthew asks Joe to explain the meaning behind Jesus's defining hour. What does the scripture have to say about in Jesus's words, "The hour has come." There was an hour in all human history like no other. Quoting from the book, "This was the hour that defined all human history, revealed God in all His glory, and man in all his moral depravity; love never loomed so bright, self-sacrifice so sweet, the meaning behind human existence so clear, and the wickedness of men as dark as during that hour. We invite you to consider along with Matt and Joe the meaning behind the most revelatory hour in all human history.

A Walk in Newness of Life
In this episode, we will ponder the reality of ongoing sin in the life of a believer. It is true that nothing is more devastating or more difficult to deal with than doing some you don’t want to do. The person who is brought into a loving relationship with the living God through the sufferings of His Son does not want to have to battle with a temptation to sin, and thereby displease the God who loved him so much. So put on your thinking cap and consider with me as I endeavor to unravel the mysteries of God’s holy word as it is found in the letter to the Romans.

Ixnay the Competition
When two elders in Israel kept prophesying in the camp Moses was informed of their behavior, and he was asked to stop them. His response was unusual. It was his desire that all Israel would act in such a way. He did not think that he was the only one who could exercise such a gift. Moses understood that one day all Israel would become a nation of priests. The church also has been called to be a holy people, called to go to the nations and make disciples. Every person for whom Jesus dies has a responsibility to live for Him, to do His will, and for His glory.

The Judgment of God
During the sixties, our nation went through a moral revolution. The culture that came before were not perfect, they had flaws in their thinking, but our host for this episode is asking the question, "Is every generation the same?" Mary, Did You Know
During this episode, Joe takes a look at the death of Jesus Christ through the eyes of the prophet Simeon. This ordinary man will have you wondering about the accuracy of his prophecy and the profound teachings concerning Mary and all that would follow in her steps. The Bible is no ordinary book, and Christianity is not a religion you can take for granted. The world pivots on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. According to Deuteronomy eighteen, a prophet is known to be true when his prophecies come to pass. In this episode, we learn that the prophecies of Simeon came to pass with pinpoint accuracy. Indeed, they have come to pass for 2,000 years and continue to be fulfilled, just as Simeon foretold. The prophet who foretells the future in such a manner should never be overlooked, disregarded, or ignored. When a person's eternal future depends upon what they believe, they should carefully consider what they hear.

Discovering a Holy Means of Grace: Part II
In this episode, In this episode, your host Joe Durso continues his lesson from last time, DISCOVERING A HOLY MEANS OF SALVATION. The primary point in these two episodes is for the listener to discern the difference between human effort and divine supply. Nothing is more critical than to place God first, in other words, to give Him the honor and glory He deserves. When the Christian relies upon his abilities, efforts, intellect, and skills, he is not living by faith. Therefore, everyone must learn upon what truths we hang our faith. This truth is the introduction to Peter's second letter. Joe covers reviews the lesson from last time and then considers further the value of not stumbling and the proper place of God's word. Be blessed in the listening.

Discovering a Holy Means of Grace: Part I
In church history, the manner of living the Christian life "successfully" swings between two extremes; "Let go and let God" or "Do the disciplines." In each method, there is a case to be made for the proposed procedure. However, the correct manner of sorting out the proper approach is to find the appropriate balance between the two. In this episode, your host Joe Durso will walk you through the first eleven verses of Peter's second letter, which he addressed to all those who have the same kind of faith as Peter. There are no excuses for living a faulty Christian experience because victory is available to all who receive saving faith. If you want to understand God's method to increase in godly qualities and thereby to be neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, you will want to listen to this episode. If you practice the teaching of this lesson, you can become sure about Jesus's calling and choosing you. If you continue in them, you will never stumble. In the final conclusion, the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be supplied abundantly to you.

An Interview with Frank Durso
Frank Durso, interviews Joe about chapter four "The Son of Man" from Joe's book THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW. This chapter focuses on the ministry of Jesus Christ as the Son of Man. Jesus's most favorite description of Him as the Son of Man. As the Son of Man, He spoke truth into the lives of people. We live in a world where truth, honesty, and transparency are not part of reality. The world lives a lie about ourselves. Jeremiah the prophet, under the inspiration of God, asked, "The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 1:9) The answer is given in the next verse where he states that it is God who searches the heart. Jesus was declared to be God by signs, miracles, and the truth. Jesus spoke truth like no other man. In this interview, Frank and Joe discuss the quality of Jesus Christ as the Son of Man.

Solomon's Love Song
The Song of Solomon is more than a love song or sonnet, it rises higher than the appropriate morals for a marital relationship. As a book that is part of the greater whole of the Bible, it tells the story of redemption. Like every other part of the Bible, it speaks to the transcendent topic of the fruit of salvation, and the dangers of courting worldliness and sinful desires. Solomon is one of the most confusing people in the Bible, as he was given a great amount of wisdom and never rose in obedience to God in accord with the wisdom he received. In the Song of Solomon, when it is rightly understood rise to the occasion of transparency and lets his readers see the emptiness and futility of outward appearance and activity without the inner life to accompany it. Every born again Christian listening and rightly understand the Song of Solomon should take to heart the warnings therein. The hearers should note the superficiality of the King, the weakness and strength of the Shulamite, and the purity and unselfish jealousy of the shepherd lover. It is a good listen for anyone that wants to understand godly love, unselfish devotion, and moral purity that arises out of a redeemed soul. One of the most misunderstood books of the Bible carries within its pages the clarity, wisdom, and panoramic view as every other part of God's holy and inspired Word. Therefore, the reader or listener should prepare his or her heart for the Word that is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, it discerns both the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Such a person will always be lifted to a higher place upon reading God's word or listening to His message. May you be so blessed by this episode as you venture into the Holy Scriptures.

In this prayer of Jesus, He discloses the glory He shared with God the Father. We will learn the meaning of eternal life and how people receive it. Furthermore, Jesus, as Son of God and ordained Messiah, declared to the Father the distinct way that His people relate to God. We will look at the word holy and how it means that God's people are separate from the rest of the world. The distinct people of God can also be observed in the Old Testament through the nation of Israel. Two references are sited and explained in Exodus and Deuteronomy. We will further examine what it means to be united to Christ, those of us who are given eternal life. Unity is a primary component part of eternal life. The person who possess the life of God is brought into fellowship with Him and will be eternally in union with Him. We will then consider together how the separate component part of the glory, holiness, unity, and union work together both in time and eternity within the believer. Does the unity of believers in our present age accurately reflect the glory of God and the salvation of all believers? Lastly, we will consider the most significant expression of God's love. The Father expressed His love for the Son, the Son expressed His love for the Father, and placed in the middle of them both is God's prized position, His people. It is these people that the Father desired to give to His Son as a bride.

The Art of Discipleship
A disciple or follower of Jesus Christ can be misunderstood very easily. Many in the world do not think Biblically when they think about what it means to be a Christian. Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there be that go in that way. The way that leads to destruction is the way of deception. Many are deceived into believing that to be a Christian is to be a good person, or be born to Christian parents, or to be baptized, of believing certain teachings as if those things were sufficient in themselves. Joe discusses in this episode the magnitude of thinking through the teachings of Christ and upon the exercise of faith in what Jesus taught, as over and against false teachers, men are saved. The end result of saving faith is that the person who believes begins to act the way that Jesus did. Saving faith always transforms the believer into a holier and more obedient person. Perfection is never obtained in this present life but the right direction is. In THE ART OF DISCIPLESHIP, the attitude of the believer is examined, in some measure, so that the listener can begin to see the difference between the false and the true.

Mature in Humility
In this episode, Joe Durso speaks from Ephesians chapter 1 and 4 to the subject of Christian maturity. The necessary elements in the maturing process involve the Holy Spirit of God, His holy Word, and the Church as it supplies gifted leaders and members as they bring their combined gifts to aid in the maturing of all its members. Furthermore, Joe recounts writing of the Apostle Paul as he brought to light the need for love and maturity as described in 1 Corinthians 13:8-13. It is in this section that the humility of the Apostle Paul comes to light and how that should have a humbling effect upon all believers. The most learned among us should carefully consider that even the Apostle Paul himself viewed his knowledge as a dimly lit mirror. How much more should those who did not receive revelations and visions understand themselves to be inadequate for the job of ministry? To depend upon the Lord is a gift of God, especially since we are all called to live by faith and dependence upon Him who died for us.

Jesus: A Ruler That Can Be Trusted
In this episode, Greg Treat interviews Joe Durso, the author of THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW. In chapter three of his book, he looks at Jesus as a ruler that can be trusted. This chapter is divided into five parts, which begins with the truth that Jesus possessed the infinite power of God. Second, Jesus never abused His divine power. Third, Jesus entered puberty with a passion for God the Father. Fourth, Jesus's first miracle was not until his thirtieth birthday. Lastly, Jesus continued to submit to Joseph and Mary. Each of the five factors described in this chapter brings us to a state of complete awe as we consider that Jesus was Almighty God in the flesh. Jesus possessed a character worthy to be emulated. The Holy Spirit will take and transform all true believers completely into the exact image of Jesus Christ. If you honor Jesus Christ as an excellent teacher, and a loving man, you will go to another level of appreciation after considering His transcendent character.

Jesus the Servant of God
In this episode, Greg Treat interviews Joe Durso about the second chapter, Jesus: The Servant God, subtitled, The Servanthood of God's Love, in his book, THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW. Greg begins his interview by asking why Joe started with the servanthood of Christ. Greg further points out that in the chapter on servitude, Joe first refers to the omnipotence of God in Christ. Joe then points to his worship times, where the magnificence and splendor of God's completeness were on display in his thoughts. It was then that the question came to mind; why did God create anything? Joe then explains that it is alright to come up with a question too big to be answered. Such questions only lead to better worship — other matters which Joe tries to answer the concern about how Christians can be more zealous to serve. Joe looks at vibrant Christians from history how their prayer life caused their zeal.

The Bible: One Book
In this episode, Greg Treat examines the uniqueness of the Bible as a book written by over forty human authors but inspired by God. However, he makes it perfectly clear that it is necessary to also understand the undeniable fact that the book is primarily one book written by one author. Can we follow his logic as contradictory? Greg is in perfect sync with the dynamics of a God that can be understood but not comprehended. God is a Trinity, so says Greg, but according to Deuteronomy 1:4, "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!" There is no contradiction in the Trinity as God is more significant than our pea brains can absorb. Likewise, the Bible is a book written by God, about God, and for His glory. It does not do men well to focus on the human authors and thereby missing the most important of the book - it is written by God. We are further admonished by Greg to not get so caught up with the different cultures, periods, and circumstances of their personal writings and miss again the point that God transcends all of those factors. Furthermore, Paul looks at those who would have us believe that the ultimate dynamic to understand the Scriptures is the human perspective rather than the unchangeableness of God word. God is the same, He does not change, nor lie. Therefore His Word is faithful and exact in every generation and culture. Greg turns his audience to the theme of God that runs all through the scriptures. God is setting up His kingdom, and it is undeniable that no matter who the human author, this unchanging theme remains a constant. It is a beautiful diatribe that is made in this episode as we look at the constant and unchanging theme of Christ that becomes glaringly obvious to all readers who do not deny the divine origin of the scriptures. As we march through the book of Hebrews, we are in awe at the dynamic flow of God apparent hand upon every human author, so that it is clear the He wrote the Bible.

How to Know You Have Eternal Life
Joe Durso and Greg Treat discuss in this episode the value of knowing you have eternal life. Greg brings into play the critical topic of the human condition. It is this condition that makes people squirm when considering the possibility of judgment before a holy God. Religions have tried for centuries to answer this question in a way that can make people feel good about themselves. However, feeling good is not the optimum matter but the truth about what happens after death. To this end, Joe and Greg point to the word of God so that their listens can rest in the God who cannot lie. Joe brings us to the book of first John, where we are given the reason for God writing the Bible, which is to believers that they might know they have eternal life. The discussion brings out the reality of man's condition, which before a holy God presents men from possessing eternal life by their own merit. Joe also brings forward the love of God who offered His only begotten Son, the second person of the Trinity, who alone could save men from the penalty of their sins.

Greg Treat interviews Joe Durso
Greg Treat interviews Joe Durso about the writing of his book THE JESUS YOU NEED TO KNOW. Joe discloses the main reason for writing this book is Jesus Himself, His sacrifice, love, grace, and the forgiveness he provides. The uniqueness of this new book is the result of a different perspective. From this unique viewpoint, Jesus can be seen for the man He became and the internal motives by which He lived. Furthermore, the value of knowing Jesus is elevated in this writing, to the place that it should be, that of the possession of eternal life. Joe delivers his personal testimony of receiving Christ and how that activity has continued to change him to this present day. Their discussion reveals how intimacy with Jesus marks the life of the believer and how the knowledge of Jesus is not merely intellectual. Such expertise extends to a soul to soul awareness. An accurate understanding of Christ continues to the way a believer prays. Precise knowledge of Jesus creates in the person who knows Him an interest that extends beyond all worldly affairs. Joe book is recounted by Greg like a book that reads like a sports biography. It argues that Jesus Christ is the greatest of all time. Still, further, a knowledge of Jesus Christ that saves is one that brings God near, so that trials and suffering are a means to reveal Jesus as the one who loves and cares for our soul like no other.
