This series explores the journey to make Mystic's 2001 debut album, Cuts For Luck And Scars For Freedom. This behind the scenes look at the journey includes mentors, producers, loved ones, and dives into the songs from the album that were produced by her guests. However, Episode 8 is different! Episode 8 focuses on art and justice, particularly Mystic's music, and includes Mike De La Rocha (who Mystic works with as part of #SchoolNotPrisons ), Jollene Levid (AF3IRM), and Carmen Perez (The Gathering For Justice). All of Mystic's guests are amazing activists and organizers who were impacted by her music and that she has had the privilege to fight for justice with. This episode is about about some of what has happened since the album was originally released.
