This month (February 2023) Brindolyn and Karson fell in love with a couple of romance novels. Brindolyn read "Radha and Jai's Recipe for Romance" by Nisha Sharma, and Karson read "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes.

Trigger warning for "Me Before You": This book references suicide, self-harm and sexual assault.

In our next episode, Karson will be reading "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin, and Brindolyn will be diving into "Site Alpha" by Neal Romriell.

Our humble hosts are back after a tumultuous hiatus! Karson and Brindolyn are kicking off the new year by sharing their fav reads of 2022. So get your TBRs in order with these excellent book recommendations. 

Next month, our harlequin heroines will be escaping into the world of romance! Brindolyn will be immersing herself in "Radha & Jai's Recipe for Romance" by Nisha Sharma, and Karson will be feeling all the feels with "Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes.

Our gals celebrated National Poetry Month with two excellent selections of poetry. Karson chose "Lighthead" by Columbia native Terrance Hayes, and Brindolyn dove into "Call Us What We Carry" by Amanda Gorman. Both selections proved to be thought-provoking and intense. 

Next month, our hosts will be having fun with graphic novels! Karson is reading "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy. Brindolyn will be reading "Gender Queer" by Maia Kobabe.

On this episode, Brindolyn and Karson share their thoughts on books recommended to them by EACH OTHER! Karson's pick for Bee was "Gods of Jade and Shadow" by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Bee selected "Terminal Alliance" by Jim C. Hines as Karson's read.

Hi there, dear readers! Our gals are back with their October reads, and they were LIT! To recap, Brindolyn read "After the People Lights Have Gone Off" by Stephen Graham Jones, and Karson read "Black Sun" by Rebecca Roanhorse. Ya girls are back after a much-needed break with their July (and kinda August) reads. This episode's theme is "books we were gifted," and boy were these some doozies. Karson read "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein, and Brindolyn read "Rise Sister Rise" by Rebecca Campbell. 

For the first time in That's Lit history, our hosts both hated their books.

On this week's That's Lit shorty, Brindolyn shares her thoughts on the complex story of "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It's a great addition to your Pride Month to-be-read list, but it's also a bit flawed. 

Ya girls are back IN PERSON (for the recording) to bring you their May reads. This month's theme was historical fiction. 

Brindolyn went back to her comfort zone of horror reads with "Ring Shout" by P. Djeli Clark, and Karson ventured to a fictionalized 1920s Russia with "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles.

For June, our hosts will be soaking up some sun with beach reads. B will be diving into the sci-fi/fantasy anthology "The Djinn Falls in Love" compiled by Mahvesh Murad and Jared Shurin, and Karson will be reading "Maine" by J. Courtney Sullivan.

On this week's That's Lit Shorty, Brindolyn admits her newfound fondness for romance novels and reviews "Take a Hint, Dani Brown" by Talia Hibbert. Listen in to find out why B fell in love with this love story.

For this week's That's Lit Shorty, Brindolyn lets us know exactly how she’s feeling about being quarantined for more than a year by reviewing "Devolution" by Max Brooks.

A heads up if you decide to explore the mystery of the lost colony of the Greenloop community: it gets gory. Because, you know, Bigfoot.

This month, Brindolyn and Karson read books of poetry in honor of National Poetry Month. Karson dives into the tome that is "The Complete Poems by Walt Whitman" and gives us a little history less on the great American poet himself. Brindolyn reviews "Wild Embers" by Nikita Gill, which satisfies the "book of nature poetry" task on the 2021 Book Riot Read Harder Challenge.

For May, our intrepid hosts will be traveling back in time with historical fiction. Karson will be reading "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles, and Brindolyn will be reading "Ring Shout" by P. Djèlí Clark.

For March, our gals read books about travel. Karson shares her thoughts on the trippy novel "The Oracle Year" by Charles Soule, while Brindolyn vents about her very first Did-Not-Finish read in That's Lit History, "Tracks" by Robyn Davidson.
