What is The Three? It's about so many things... the Oneness of God that is the Three in One, the New Covenant life, the character of God, the search for community outside the organizational church, and much more!

We are three friends, who have a lot to say, with transparency and a little humor. And we hope to become part of your online community.

119 - Disappointment
119 - Disappointment
Disappointment – the struggle is real! And it seems to come daily. Sometimes they are minor irritations, sometimes heartbreaking losses. And with the holidays coming up fast, disappointments can feel even deeper. It’s tough to deal with it all, so we tried to come up with some different ways to look at disappointment.

118 – Thankful for the Small Stuff
118 – Thankful for the Small Stuff
There are so many “big” things happening that it’s easy to miss the “small” stuff.  But it seems many of our intimate moments that touch our hearts happen in the quiet, small circumstances of life – both with friends and family, and with God. Thanks, Dad, for all the sweet ways you make yourself known to each of us!

117 – Marcy McConnell of The Reclaimed Soul
117 – Marcy McConnell of The Reclaimed Soul
We met Marcy for the first time as we sat down for this podcast, and we felt our souls connect immediately! Marcy is a Certified Enneagram Coach, and she explained how easily this tool harmonizes with the truth of the Gospel and our identity in Christ. She is passionate about helping believers realize not only who God designed them to be, but also to understand why they do what they do, and in that, learn to love themselves as they are. If you heard our recent podcast on Soul Care, you will be as excited as we are about this connection. Get used to Marcy – she will be partnering with us at Oneness in more ways in the near future. You can find out more about Marcy at www.thereclaimedsoul.org

116 – Vicki Frydrych and The Two Trees
She’s back! Our Vicki is with us once again, sharing one of her signature topics (or as Sharon would call it, Foundational Truths). We believers are really good at living from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, but the Tree of Life? Not so much. If you only listen to one podcast, please make it this one! There is authentic rest, deep peace, and fulfilling joy to life when you are eating from the Tree of Life.

115 – Bonnie Thornton – A Journey to Rest, Part 2
Trauma is not based on what happened to you, but on how you react to what happened to you. After last week’s podcast, we realized there was more to be said about trauma, so Pat and Lori had Bonnie back for Part 2. We talked more about what trauma is, and some different ways to help heal.

114 – Bonnie Thornton – A Journey to Rest
We love hearing stories of how God draws His children to freedom and rest. On today’s episode, our friend, Bonnie, shares her own story. She explains what she has learned about how the brain deals with past trauma, and how science and Christianity are not mutually exclusive. Bonnie has been a part of the Branch 15 ministry and will soon be completing her Counselor training program here at Oneness. Join Sharon and Lori as they introduce you to Bonnie!

113 – Soul Care
113 – Soul Care
We are three-part beings:  body, soul, and spirit. Our spirit has been made whole by Christ – we are a new creation. There are a lot of things to “care” for the body – pharmaceuticals, exercise, diet, etc. But our souls – our mind, emotions, and will – also need healing. Treating the body does not heal the soul. In this episode we discuss how our souls have been wounded, and how healing happens.

111 – Job and Grace
111 – Job and Grace
If you’ve read the book of Job, you might have wondered about several things. Why does it seem like God held Job out as bait for Satan? Why do we talk about how patient Job was when he kind of looks like a whiner? What was Job’s suffering all about, anyway? And most importantly, where was God’s grace in this story? We’ve got quite a few thoughts about this. You may or may not agree, but asking questions and looking at things differently is always a good thing, don’t you think?

109 - Boundaries? Yes, Please!
Do you have trouble saying "no" or knowing how to stop getting sucked into other peoples' drama? Did you know you don't have to attend every argument you are invited to? That's what boundaries are for! Boundaries are not selfish or mean. They are essential to all healthy relationships. Listen in to our follow-up to our last episode about dealing with difficult people, as we talk about what boundaries are, and what they are not.

108 - Dealing with Difficult People
108 - Dealing with Difficult People
We all have those people, don't we? Family, co-workers, friends... And we may love them (or not), so we have to find a way to handle the relationship in a way that is healthy for that person and for ourselves. How do we do that? How do we know when to walk away? How do we continue to love them? We don't have all the answers, but we have some thoughts - as always!

106 - The Importance of Questions
106 - The Importance of Questions
We learn from asking questions, however, in some circles questions are not appreciated or even tolerated. But not asking questions can be dangerous. We run into trouble by blindly following a particular person, teaching, or philosophy. Even in Christian groups. What does God think about being questioned?

Trust. It's how we relate to each other and to God. You can't have a real relationship without trust. Trust isn't just a theory or mindset. 096 - We Got Nothing!
Yep, today for the podcast, that was where we were. We came in with nada. So we sat down at the microphones and just started talking. And it came. A lot of what we do here at the office most days: laughter, silliness, honesty, and why and how much we love being all together in this place. What we want to share with all of you, whether you are in our podcast community or in person locally. We are a safe place, an encouraging group of people, and definitely a fun place to be! So our "nothing" turned into a whole lot of "something!"

Let's talk a little more about grace (you know we never get enough)! What can grace do for us individually? We turn again to "Trust for Today" for our conversation starter. We dig into statements like "Grace can redirect my anger into concern," "Grace can release dormant love," and "Grace can cause me to work harder than by any other means."  Deep thoughts give way to some ridiculousness...of course. 086 - An Easter "What if?"
Happy Easter! We are again going to "Trust for Today" as a starting point for our discussion. So...what if Easter never happened? What would be different? Only everything! But think about things you might not have considered - like not having a new song - or no safe place. John Lynch and friends have given us their own unique thoughts on what we have because of Jesus' resurrection.  (And somehow those marshmallow Peeps keep coming up!)

085 - To Lent or Not to Lent
085 - To Lent or Not to Lent
"Trust for Today" is one of our favorite devotionals, written by one of our favorite people, John Lynch, along with Bill Thrall and Bruce McNicol. In it, Sharon found "To Lent or Not to Lent" and we thought it was an interesting take on an Easter tradition. While virtually all believers are aware of it and what it represents, it is observed in different ways. Is it mandatory? Profitable? What does it mean? As we often do, we end up in unexpected rabbit trails!

084 - Seeing God as our Father
God says He is our Father, but how do we know? The Bible is full of stories of His power, His wrath, His judgment - from our perspective, anyway. But where can we find pictures of Him as Father, or even as our Daddy? Relax, child, they're in there! In this episode, we share some of them with you. (And there might be a little announcement of what we've been up to lately - and an opportunity for you to become a part of it.)

083 - Lesser Than or Equal - Hierarchy in Organized Religion
083 - Lesser Than or Equal - Hierarchy in Organized Religion
Leaders and followers. Husbands and wives. Government officials and the rest of us. Hierarchy is a system of the world, not of the Church. Yet it has permeated organized religion, and therefore marriages, relationships, and the way we live our lives. The opposite of hierarchy is oneness - God's design for us. Where did it start and how did it get distorted? Listen in and let us know what you think!  (And those verses we couldn't find during the podcast were Mark 10:42-45!)

080 - "It is Finished" - But What Does it Mean?
We've heard the phrase dozens, maybe hundreds, of times - "it is finished" or "the finished work of Christ." Jesus said it on the cross. We are encouraged to rest in this finished work. What was finished, though? Was Jesus saying His mission on earth was finished? Was His plan to make a way for us to Heaven finished? Did He finish His teaching? Yes! But those were only part of it! There is so much more to "it is finished" than we may realize - and we found lots of it!

078 - Reality vs reality
078 - Reality vs reality
There is a world of difference between "big R" Reality and "little r" reality. "Little r" reality is what we experience in our life on earth, while "big R" Reality is REALITY from God's perspective. Every day reality, or the natural dimension, can get in the way of our seeing what's really going on in the spiritual dimension. And the spiritual dimension is where we spiritual beings live! Have you ever heard two different teachings that obviously contradict each other? Like "God remembers our sins no more...until judgment day when they will be brought up against us."  This is somewhat confusing - and there's a reason for that! 055 - Carol Hager with Second Saturday Divorce Workshops
It is a fact that divorces happen, and most women have no idea what life will look like during, and after, a divorce.  Carol is a Financial Consultant with a heart to help women contemplating or going through a divorce.  Second Saturday is an educational workshop where women find information about three primary areas - legal, financial, and emotional well-being.  Women attending the workshop will gain knowledge, build confidence, and be able to make informed decisions so that they can get on with their life.  We are happy to partner with Carol to add a spiritual dimension to these workshops.  Find out more at www.secondsaturdayokc.com or on the Second Saturday Facebook page.

054.5 - 1st Anniversary Bonus Episode - Who Knew?!
054.5 - 1st Anniversary Bonus Episode - Who Knew?!
Today marks one year of The Three! A year of sharing our thoughts and opinions in a completely new way. A year of fun, and sometimes silliness. A year of being honest and open about delights, mercies, and losses in our own lives. A year of friends, both old and new, willing to share their stories with us, and with you. Who knew that a year ago we would be doing this "new thing" in this completely new-to-us medium? We wanted to do this bonus episode to go back to where we started, see where we are now, and dream a little about where God is taking us next.  And we especially want to thank all of you for listening and sharing The Three with your friends! We appreciate you more than you know!

051 - What are You Worth?
051 - What are You Worth?
When you are honest with yourself, what do you really think you are worth?  We can get mixed messages which make us try harder, or give up. We let others take advantage of us, thinking that is what being a "good Christian" is supposed to do. We may be told we are selfish. So what is the truth? Could we be worth more than we ever thought possible? And what does that look like in our own life?  Listen in as we tackle this important subject.
