The Death of Ryan Gainer
On March 11th, the news and media rang of a death in Apple Valley, California. 15-year-old Ryan Gainer was shot and killed by two California deputies. Ryan Gainer was an Ausome young man, who is gone too soon.
This was a VERY emotional episode for me, as I have a 15-year-old; soon to be 16. On March 11th, I lost a child; we ALL lost a child.
Please listen and share!
I love you all
PA's 2023/2024 Budget/The 2024 Autism Fathers Conference
Ausome Family, welcome!
I'm so happy to be back in the studio, addressing some things that are important to our community. On this episode, I wanted to talk a little about Governor Shapiro's 2023/2024 Budget, when it comes to families and individuals with Autism or an Intellectual Disability. Is it enough?
And, I have an exciting event coming up...Tune in to hear about it, and how YOU can be a big Part of it!!!
I love you all!
Sexual Abuse in the Autism Community
Hello my AUSOME family. It's your host Jamiel ("J"), and I wanted to sit and talk with you about something that normally doesn't have a seat at the dinner table... and that's sexual abuse! I recently had a training class about the signs, and identifying sexual abuse in our Neurotypical children, and I started to wonder what that looks like in the Neurodiverse community and the statistics are STAGGERING!!
Make sure to pull up a chair, get your coffee or favorite drink, and let's chop it up.
I love you all!

And as I give insight to another look at life through Shayne's eyes after having our weekly conversations. As always I love you all!

Happy New Year; 2024. Well, I wish we could start on a "good" note, but we have to address the challenges, to make sense, learn, and make do for the good! Sit and listen as I address these two topics that I have been dying to talk about.
As always, I love you all.... and even you Mrs. K :)
The End of 2023... Reflection and new goals!

Hey Ausome Family. Happy Holidays! I can't believe that Philadelphia has hit another "First" milestone!!! Make sure to sit back and listen as I go over what this means for you, and I, as well as the city of Philadelphia. FC (Facilitated Communication) & AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Pt. 1 & 2
Happy Holidays my Ausome family! It's your boy "J" , and I'm happy to be back behind the mic, and talking to you on some topics I have encountered both Professionally and Personally. Today's two-part episode is speaking on the topic of, FC (Facilitated Communication) & AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Have you ever heard of either one of these? Have you ever used any of these? This might turn some heads after hearing about each one of these tools!
Sit back and enjoy the conversation. As always, give us your thoughts, concerns, and comments; email us at Theausomeshow@gmail.com.

AI in Health Care. Will it help our loved ones??
Hey Ausome friends! What a year it has been. I have to say sorry for being absent from the platform for so long, but it hasn't been in vain! I have been out in the field doing great things Professionally, and personally with myself and my nonprofit organization called Ausomeness Inc. I am also happy and blessed to announce that the show is back on online radio at www.whiz-radio.com every Saturday at 9 am. Check out this latest episode as I challenge your thinking as an Ausome individual to think about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Health care... It's coming!
A "Twofer" for April!
Ausome family, how have you been? It's that time of the year; Autism Awareness Month! Shoutout to all of my Autistics, Advocates, and caretakers. I appreciate and acknowledge YOU!!!!!
Unless you have lived of the grid in the past 8 days, you have seen that the CDC( Center for Disease Control) has released NEW Autism prevalence rates. Wellll, let's just say I don't agree with this "finding" all together. Tune in to here my take on this new development, but also as I speak about employers so called "lack of quaility" employment candidates, SMH. This is an episode you don't want to miss any second of. But I also want to hear from you. So make sure you drop a comment, concern, or request to Theausomeshow@gmail.com
I love you guys!
Get to know Rooted Hearts Ministries and their LOVE for the Autism community
What an AUSOME way to bring in Spring! I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Andrew and Jomaira Ortiz; Co-founders www.rootedheartsminitires.org . Can you believe that these two AUSOME parents have made it their life's passion to Advocate, Educate, and love on each and every Autistic individual in the world with their non-profit organization and AUSOME FREE SENSORY BOX! This interview really talks deep into the thoughts of both Andrew as an "Ausome" father and Jomaira as an "Ausome" mother, and what it takes to stay positive, and keep their family together. Make sure you listen to the very end of this episode, and also support the Ortiz family and their ministry.
You can follow them on all social media platforms, as well as at www.rootedheartsminitires.org. Don't forget to order your free sensory box today on their website as well.
Love you all.....
Talking Star Wars, Star Trek, and Ausomeness with Father. Son. Galaxy creators Kerwin and Keith Yarde
I was waiting ALL week for this interview Ausome family. I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Kerwin Yarde about his amazing platform "Father. Son. Galaxy", and his even more amazing family! This was an AUSOME interview where we talked about Star Wars and Star Trek, as well as talked "shop" about Autism and his personal connection with our community. If you're not a fan of Star Wars or Star Trek; or just maybe a fan of one, you definitely want to listen to this episode :)
Make sure to follow and support "Father. Son. Galaxy" on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and by checking out their website at www.fathersongalaxy.com
Are we missing the mark; Autism in women and other self identified populations
What a year already for us here at The Ausome Show. And with growth ALWAYS comes education. In today's episode, I wanted to speak to a stakeholder in the Autism community that could give me a perspective that I could never attain. I would like to introduce the AMAZING, AUSOME, Zoe Darazsdi. Zoe Darazsdi is a mental health counselor with nearly a decade of experience empowering neurodiverse people. In that time, she has helped countless teens and adults to navigate the challenges and gifts of living with a unique brain. Her practice is trauma-informed and guided by Adlerian counseling theory and disability rights activism.
Zoe’s work is supported by her own autistic self-advocacy and the professional research she conducts on autistic peoples’ experiences in counseling. When Zoe is not counseling, she is writing, kickboxing, and playing with her dog, Beezus.
A MUST LISTEN TO THE VERY END!!!!!
Talking Transition to Adulthood Programs with Khylil Robinson
Today's episode is nothing but PROOF that WE Neurotypical individuals THINK we know it ALL. And we are sadly missing the mark. I had the absolute pleasure of having Mr. Khylil Robinson on the show to talk about being a man who is Autistic, being an Autistic man from the Black and Brown community, and his perceptions and experiences about Transition programs, and where organizations are dropping the ball...
Make sure to listen to the absolute end, and don't forget you can always chime in by leaving a message, comment, or your concern at Theausomeshow@gmail.com.
Post Autism Town Hall
January 28th, 2023, I was able to bring my dream to fruition. With the help of many collaborative organizations, I was able to have my first ever Autism Town Hall. This was something I wanted to put together since 2020, but didn't know how and what direction I should go. After sometime, and God placing the right people and resources in play, I was able to make this happen for Norristown, PA. I partnered with the Norristown Police Department, and other local law-enforcement, educational institutions, Autism driven organizations, and more. It was a successful event, an I'm looking forward to bringing this to Philadelphia in April of 2023.
But I didn't want to get on here to gloat about this event, but more so I wanted to talk about two topics that came up in the Town Hall; Police interactions with Autistics, and Transition to Adulthood programs. I could go on and on about what I talked about, but I would rather that you listen, and give your opinion!
As always I love and appreciate you ALL
"The American Dream". Is it for the Autistic Family?
Happy New Year everyone! Your guy "J" coming into 2023 with a lot to be thankful for! I hope your year is starting off right. Now, topic of today's episode; "The American Dream" Is it for the Autistic Family? But this not only speaks for the Autistic family, but for adult Autistics, those with other Intellectual disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. Listen, as I share some personal views, but challenge your thinking about this dream that we often find ourselves chasing for our loved ones; for ourselves, but is this really something that still exists today?
What's your thoughts?
Speaking on Bishop T.D. Jake's comment "Fathers are extinct in our community and distracted in other communities."
Whole heartedly I believe this quote from Bishop T.D. Jake's. My wife sent me a podcast link from Sara Jakes Roberts, and when he said this; wow factor! I had to reflect on this and my heart. Listen as I challenge your perspective and heart on this true statement!
Are these big Autism organizations really meeting people where they're at 🤔
My son never really had a birthday party
Hey "Ausome" family! "J" here with something deep on my mind. I can't recall why this came to my mind, but I wanted to talk a little bit about Birthday parties, being scared to throw them for my son Shayne, and how we as "Ausome" parents should address them. This could be something out of left field for some, but for others like myself, it is a harsh reality on something that is so simple. I hope that after sharing my personal thoughts and experiences, that we will together grow and move past " our fears", and allow for positive affirmations to come true.
I love you guys!
Let's talk shop; fire safety and prevention

Message to Autism Speaks and who they serve
Good morning Ausome family!
I know....I know... there has been plenty of bad vibes regarding and to Autism speaks. I can only speak from a parents perspective on what I need, and would love to see. But I have to/will acknowledge Autistics and their feelings and thoughts. With that being said, I was given an opportunity to make this video to present at an Autism speaks virtual conference. But I wanted to share this with you!
I love you all!

Meeting people where they're at!/ these so called "Autism support groups"
Rest now Kyrin Carter; "What is Elopement/Wandering?"
As many of you may have heard, in the early part of May an "Ausome" boy by the name of Kyrin Carter went missing in Hammond Indiana. His body was found days later in a nearby lake. 😢
This shook the "Ausome" community around the world, as this is something that we deal with every single day as "Ausome" parents. Listen to this episode as I explain how I experienced this with my son, and my thoughts on what can work for your "Ausome" child when dealing with Elopement/wandering.
This episode is dedicated to Kyrin Carter and his family. May his soul rest with God, where he is not frowned apon, but seen for the beautiful boy he is.
His Gofundme link is : https://gofund.me/45dcf138
"Autism and me; where am I at right now?"
Great Morning "Ausome" friends,
I want to take this time to say "Thank you" to everyone who continues to support and see my purpose and passion in this and every endeavor I engage with.
In this episode, I wanted to briefly self reflect on the road I have been on, and will continue to travel. So many trails and tribulations with life, sometimes we need to sit back and reflect on where we are at now, and open up our eyes, to see where we want to go. I encourage all that are listening to take my words for their full value, and re-focus.
Let's do it together because you ARE "Ausome", and NOT alone in this :)
"Sitting in my car"
YOU ARE AUSOME.....
Before I get into this episode, I wanted everyone to know that. I wrote this, this year back in March. This was supposed to be an article in a Autism advocating magazine, but was not published; maybe due to the "rawness"??? I still believe that there is an "Ausome" father that needs to hear this. This were my true thoughts when going to the appointment that ultimately diagnosed my son Shayne, as being Autistic. I ask that you listen with your heart and share this with any family, single man or woman that may be struggling with "life"; because negatives are apart of life..... our "Ausome" children are heaven!
I love you all
What in the Elon mUSK
“To be truly free you have to be aware of who you truly are.”. – Nitin Namdeo.
After this weekends SNL (Saturday Night Live) guest Elon Musk reveled that he as Asperger's, there was an influx of anger and disappointment in the "Ausome" community😢. Listen, and chime in as I discuss some key points, history of others' on the spectrum and why "the way of the world", needs to stay out of this "Ausome" community....
As always I would love to hear your opinion and thoughts; let's chop it up!!!! Love you guys
Mother's Day 2021
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the "Ausome", gorgeous Mother's out there. In this episode, i just wanted to get on to discuss the NEED of us men, for you ladies.
This episode is dedicated to my Mother, Helen Angela Owens... Your with our father now. Rest beautifully beloved
Autism awareness month; is it Blue, is it Red, is it Gold?????
My Ausome family.. first I love you all! April is here😊, and as some of us know it, it's the month our community shines (well actually we shine all year😎). I'm speaking about Autism awareness month.
But there has been a lot of discussion about Autism Speaks @autismspeaks, the Puzzle piece, the color red, and more.. I love this energy, but I want it to be done out of love; yes love.
I had some things I wanted to speak about that were on my mind, but I never want to offend any Autistics as you are perfect in my eyes. I just wanted to hear and be heard👂🏽
let's start the discussion, even better let's start an organization led by Autistics❤💪🏽
How are you really doing Men???
What's going on Ladies and Gentleman. Excuse me beautiful ladies, but I need to ask the Men a question; how are you? If you haven't heard, there was a man by the name of Matthew Ponomarenko who killed his son Jax Ponomarenko in Ohio. The man stated to the 911 operator that he was "hearing voices" and he killed his son. I implore you to read more about the story on your own, but I wanted to share my struggles with depression and suicide and most importantly try to be with you on that ledge, and walk of it with you......... I love you beloved
My opinion on the movie "Music"
Blessings beloved, I hope everyone is healthy and being "purposeful" is life! I wanted to speak up about the latest news in the "Ausome" community. The artist Sia has made a movie named "Music" which is said to revolve around a young Autistic woman named "Music"; a character played by Maddie Ziglor. I beg to differ!! Here why I think this and the advice I give not only to Sia, but also us as a community, and humanity.
What us "Ausome" Fathers need????????
Hello beloveds; the day after Valentine's day seems a little somber. But, everything is what you make it to be, so make it Ausome :). Today I was reading an online posting from Louis Mendoza (National Fatherhood Initiative), and the points that he was speaking about resonated with me so much, I wanted to get on and share some of my takes, but most important make you lovely ladies and men think! Think outside of the box when it comes to dating a Father to a child with special needs ladies. Some very good content and "takeaways" to it. So sit back, listen, form your opinion, and even questions or comments. I always love to hear back from you all.
Also don't forget to follow "The Ausome show" on IG@theausomeshow; Facebook "The Ausome show"; and of course Tiktok@theausomeshow.
I love you and thank you for your support!
Real Talk
New year, new episodes. Blessings beloved and thank you for your continued support. I had to get some issues off of my chest as I see the need for someone who has been through "the fire", needing to prevent others from going through it.
