It was another crazy month for Mississauga Real Estate. Prices continue to go up, primarily due to a lack of inventory, and we are still seeing bidding wars in most price points. Condos are making a comeback, up 7% since the start of the year, and anything freehold in on fire.

October went pretty much as expected in the Mississauga Housing Report. We saw some gains in all segments, although the condo apartments are only up a little bit and have a lot of inventory. It’s been an interesting year so far and the month of September was no exception. We are up HUGE amounts of volume in all categories except the condo apartments and even those are up 6.5%. 

The interesting story with the condos is that the pricing and number of sales are both up from last year however the number of units for sale is up 150% and that’s making it FEEL much slower than we are used to due to all of the choices that are available.

Well things sure have changed quickly! The Mississauga Housing Market is on fire with record sale prices in both June and July and it seems to be continuing through the month of August. With the exception of the condo apartments every segment of the market is WAY down in absorption rate, telling us that there is just not enough inventory out there for the amount of buyers.

Oxford and AIMco are planning a multi decade project to overhaul the neighbourhood into one of the most forward-thinking communities in the country. This Mississauga development is going to be the largest downtown master planned community in Canadian history and it looks like it’s going to be SO cool!

They’ve partnered with Daniel’s for the first phase of the residential development…and they happen to be one of my favourite condominium builders. There will be residential units, new retail and office building and over half on the new residential will be purpose built rental buildings.
