Why Having a G.B.F is all the rage these days. (Special Guest Briana Marie)
GBFs are all the rage these days, but what does that mean? Not so long ago, it was common to hear guys and girls go on about Girls’ Best Friends or Ladies’ Best Buddies when referring to their friends of the opposite sex, especially if they were single (this was back when having a boyfriend or girlfriend meant that both parties were in relationships). However, today’s culture looks at this term differently. A GBF is someone you can be around without feeling the need to have sex with them or date them.

What candy should you be snacking on this All Hallows Eve? And what about those gay costumes? In this LGBT Halloween special, I’ll give you all the information you need for your spooky celebration this year!

Asexuality within the LGBTQ Community
Asexuality, sometimes called ace by those who identify as such, refers to those who do not experience sexual attraction or a desire to engage in sexual activity with other people, regardless of their biological sex, gender identity, or romantic orientation. In the LGBTQ community, those who identify as ace may feel as though they don’t fit in because their sexuality differs from what the public generally thinks of when they think of members of the LGBTQ community.
While a lot of people worry that they’re broken if they don’t experience sexual attraction, everyone is different. You can be asexual and have any romantic orientation you want. If you do date, you might tell your partner about your asexuality before you start dating to make sure they understand what that means. They may or may not be okay with it. Some partners won’t date aces because their definition of a relationship includes sex, but others don’t care whether their partner is asexual as long as they have an open relationship where both people respect each other's boundaries.

Is There a Gay Voice?
Have you ever said about someone after first hearing him speak, he sounds gay?
“Gay Voice” isn’t necessarily a real thing - It’s a stereotype and there are men, to a greater or lesser extent, who embody that stereotype. There are straight men who may sound stereotypically gay and there are gay men who may sound what we would say is straight.
Research has found that there is no significant differences in fundamental frequency, mean intensity, or vowel space between straight and gay men. Linguistics professors Henry Rogers and Ron Smyth has also identified phonetic characteristics that seem to make a man’s voice sound gay. That research has shown that some gay men could adopt patterns from female family or friends they may be around, picking up those characteristics unconsciously.
For many in the LGBTQ+ community in the past and even today the need to change your voice is for the sake of safety and survival.
You shouldn’t have to change your voice, the way you dress, or who you are. Be proud of it.
