Get yourself a cuppa tea, settle down en enjoy!

Liefs Lotte

WIE of WAT wil JIJ horen in deze show? Nederlands of Engels? TELL ME. ECHT.

Thanks leuk mens!

#34 Rishikesh, Iyengar & Kundalini Yoga as taught by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa with Pavan

#34 Rishikesh, Iyengar & Kundalini Yoga as taught by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa with Pavan

Do you want to be dry or do you want to be juicy?! Pavan asked herself this question while shifting from Iyengar (which helped her to build a solid yoga foundation) to Kundalini Yoga (which brought so much transformation). Pavan, was born in Canada but lived 17 of her 44 years in Rishikesh, India. She felt in love with River Ganga from the moment she first arrived and decided to stay forever. "Love is when you feel free and at home at the same time." - Pavan. Pavan explains how she absolutely hated her first Kundalini class with Gurmukh, during the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh. She tells how her own mind kept her from a full experience. After opening up her heart & mind and diving fully into the practice it allowed her to clear out stuff that was stuck from which she didn't even know it was there. Gurmukh became her teacher and mentor and taught her that Kundalini is about discipline and keeping up. Switch on this episode if you want to discover more about Kundalini, Iyengar, India and Gurmukh. Pavan is a great story teller and takes you on her spiritual journey with joy! Make sure to subscribe and thumbs up (likes and shares) is very much appreciated!  With love, Lotte www.theyoganomad.nl

- Yvonne haar wellness essentials & activiteiten

Tune in!"  Liefs Lotte.

Note: this episode is in Dutch! The next one out in August 2019 will be in English again!

♡ Love love love.

#19 Loosing Someone you Love, Grief and Inviting your Ancestors to Breath with you in Meditation

#19 Loosing Someone you Love, Grief and Inviting your Ancestors to Breath with you in Meditation

In this episode Lotte shares about a event that changed her life: she lost he father in a motor accident when she was 19 years old. Perhaps it's no coincidence that this is the 19th episode. Lotte explains how life as she knew it fell apart, what emotions she experienced and how grief eventually did let go.  She also shares about moments she feels connected to her dad Dennis. and the one time that a medium helped her to be in touch with him.

Let this episode be your friend that guides you to a place of connection with your own ancestors - using a calming meditation (18.00m).

Lotte on the 1st of July 2019:

"Today 10 years ago I received a phone call that would forever change my life.

It was mom calling from the hospital - Dad had a motor accident and was in critical state and I had to get there soon. For the first time in my life I hyperventilated. This was not good.

A hour later we received the news that my dad had no brain activity any more. He was at the intensive care - a machine kept him alive but he could not hear, see or feel us being around him. He had no pain but there was no future left for him.

Because my parents got divorced and my dad didn’t have a donor registration, it was up to me (19) and my brothers (17 and 14) to decide what would happen with his organs. Those are not questions crying teenagers should be answering in the middle of the night.

We were left with a loss you cannot imagine, endless tears, a dog, two businesses, a huge house with even bigger mortgage and so the list continued.  Some moments I remember vividly while other memories are blurry or even disappeared.  What I do remember is so much pain and sadness. At times I thought my life was over too. This was so unexpected, my dad was the strongest man I knew.

I cannot believe that it’s been 10 years now. There are days that I even forget to think of him. In the beginning that made me feel so miserable but now I know that it’s okay. One day I would love to be in contact with him and I know I will but I have to find a way. If you are reading this and you feel it in your heart, and you are able to be that medium, I would appreciate it so much if yo would reach out. .

What I do know is that without going through this pain, anger, fear, grief an thousand more stages, feelings and emotions I would not have been where I am today. I am 29 and feel so blessed to help others heal and open their hearts.

Without my dad or ironically, without my dad passing, I would not have achieved half of what I did. He is not just a memory, he is my teacher and spirit daddy. Always. And today I honor him and thank him for all the lessons."

#15 Yin Power, Yoga Retreats, the Gallbladder hour and Why Teachers will Always be Students with Kristine Marie Rost

#15 Yin Power, Yoga Retreats, the Gallbladder hour and Why Teachers will Always be Students with Kristine Marie Rost

Most of us live increasingly fast-paced, active and even stressed lifes. Minds are fossey and attention is disappeared. In the West, we practice a lot of YANG Yoga (think of Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Power, Bikram) which is about muscle strengthening & lengthening through rhythmic, flowing movements. Do you wonder why you still feel all over the place after a yoga class? You probably need more Yin in your life!

The Danish Marie Kristine Rost is known as the "Queen of Yin"  in Copenhagen. This lady is all into Yin Yoga but not the kind that makes you snuggle onto your bolster and chill out for a hour. She's an advocate of the kind of Yin that stimulates the fascia , connective tissue, ligaments, tendons and joints resulting in a deeply relaxing practice. While creating “space” in the body the mind calms down. Kristine herself stopped practicing Yang Yoga at all, she rises her energy rather by cycling around in Copenhagen. The good thing about YIN? No matter your age, posture, experience, this practice is for every-body who wants to get grounded and move better!

Kristine has been teaching yoga for many years but will always remain a student herself. She's off to Thailand for a Chi course soon. "When you take a Teacher training, you need to feed the practice in the bone. You'll need months for it to be under the skin. In order to keep giving you have to keep learning and stay inspired. That's the whole Yin Yang principle!"

Kristine loves to teach retreats because it's extremely beneficial to stick to the practice and a good teacher for a couple of days. It's not just another holiday but it will the beginning of something new.

What else can you expect? Making money as a teacher, the gall bladder hour, traveling, breakfast dates and beautiful beaches. Tune in if you want to learn and laugh!

#12 Acute Leukemie, 30kg Aankomen door Prednison, Sporten, Reizen & Positiviteit met Viora Rebergen

Note: this episode is in Dutch! Uneven episodes will continue to be in English.

#11 From Associate Attorney to Yoga Teacher and Getting Married in just one Month(!) with Britt Hunter

#11 From Associate Attorney to Yoga Teacher and Getting Married in just one Month(!) with Britt Hunter

USA born Britt went to law school, traveled a lot, got married in 3 weeks, loves her 30's and yoga & meditation make her feel at home more than any country in the world. The two yoga girls meet in Talalla and talk about love, yoga and life.

Britt shares about the importance of yoga throughout her life. What started as 'a joke' to keep her sane while studying law would change her life. In her mid twenties she decided to do a teacher training as back up in case she wouldn't pass her bar exam. Ironically many smarty pants didn't pass while Britt did (because of yoga ;))! She got hired as a associate attorney and practiced handstands to her office door. Not even one year in and Britt swapped her fancy office for a tiny yoga place in her parents basement! The community thought that she was practicing witchcraft but Britt taught woman to breath, feel, connect and love themself. She got drawn to teaching yoga because it made her feel like she could do so much more for the world.

The second part is about Britt's incredible crazy love story. Yup, she got married just after having spend 3 weeks with her now husband Mitch Hunter. She never really believed in 'the one' but despites that she is happy to choose her man for the rest of her life. However it wasn't just rainbows and butterflies  - they  put pressure on their self to 'prove' that they were a perfect - newlywed -  couple.  They knew each other on a soul level but still had to figure out many things around the relationship! Britt suggests that you better do some research on the new place where you are moving to so that you can create your own thing. This will take a lot of pressure from your partner, and it will make you feel more independent! Working for Lululemon gave Britt that space and community for herself.

Britt also explains more about vinyasa yoga and both girls think that yoga should flow with you through life - use the tools you need in the moment. Vinyasa for energy and yin to ground and nurture you!

#8 Proper Breathing, Yoga Every Day, Reducing Stress & Pretty Toes with Tye Fielding in Talalla

Talalla (South Sri Lanka) based Yogini Tye Fielding started practicing yoga over a decade ago. The physical and 'feel good' aspect got her on the mat but in 2013 - during her first trip to India - her yoga experience changed in something way more profound. The combination of meditation, pranayama and asana got her hooked and from that moment on she decided to devote her life to practicing and teaching yoga.

The Yoga Nomad meets Tye at the Talalla Retreat where she is one of the Head Teachers and planners. They dive deep into the importance of a daily practice, the effects of stress in the world,  the (para) sympathetic nervous system, the combination of Surf & Yoga and how compassion is the unwritten rule of life.

Tye explains how the breath controls every-thing and she invites you to deepen your breath with an exercise at 31.45m. Last but not least are there some 'Sri Lankan Adventures', confessions, boyfriend stories and... her big toes! Tune in if you want to learn, love and laugh. ♥

In the first episode of 2019 Lotte has got her UK born yogi friend Stephanie Sargent on the show. The two get along like cats on fire: they share, laugh and even chant/sing!

Stephanie tells openly about her teens in which she overestimated her appearance, felt insecure and overindulged with alcohol. Steph found healing in taking therapy and then got so inspired that she decided to study it in order to help & heal more people. Lotte was lucky to have her first session with her today! #3 Relationships, Travel Shit and then Right Back to Graditude through Meditation

Who doesn’t think that traveling is fun? You get to see new parts of the world, meet people, eat strange foods, shop new stuff, and experience all sorts of activities. It leaves you with lifetime memories. However travel-life throws curveballs too.

In this episode Lotte begins with sharing her frantic thoughts and feelings about intimate parts of her travel adventures and relationship. She explains how she sometimes has a hard time with making the right (healthy) choices and why at times all you want and SHOULD do is cry. We are all human and we face challenges in life. We all need love but we need space too. Feel free to crack up when Bali bellies and toilet visits with music are brought up.

Feel encouraged to join the meditation (at 26.50m) to get back to graditude. Because you always can. Thankfulness unlocks the fullness of life, even on shitty, rainy days.
