Episode 40: DC Movie News and our Review of Joker
First we start with some recent DC announcements for The Batman and we also discuss the upcoming Birds of Prey film which will be released in February 2020.
We then move into the Joker and give our thoughts and commentary on this origin story of The Joker. We discuss how he goes from passive Arthur Fleck to the Joker and discuss "Is it believable?". We discuss Joaquin Phoenix's performance and debate how it compares to previous portrayal's of The Joker. We talk about what comes next for The Joker.

Listen to The Credible Nerds discuss Episode 4 of Reasons Why The Phantom Menace Doesn't Suck! This new series will address reasons why The Credible Nerds believe that The Phantom Menace is great Star Wars. Each episode will address one topic and how the topic is important and improves the Star Wars Skywalker Saga. This first series is about The Phantom Menace, then we will work our way through the rest of the films and end with Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
This fourth episode deals with the Force as we are introduced to it in The Phantom Menace and how affects the overall story. We see various uses of the Force, as well as different powers of The Force that are used by the Jedi and the Sith. As Qui-Gon Jinn teaches his padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, we are also taught of the different uses of the Force. We are introduced to the concept of midichlorians, a vergence of the Force, and the Prophesy of the Chosen One. We learn that there are not only a Dark Side and Light Side of the Force, but also a Living Force and a Cosmic Force ( that is later explored in The Clone Wars). These concepts are mentioned throughout the Star Wars Saga, but unfortunately some are never fully explained. We do see how The Force is used by the Jedi and Sith throughout the Saga, things such as using the The Force to push things, pull things towards you, jump higher, run faster, use the Force to help someone relax or fall asleep, and to use the Force to mentally trick someone to do what you wish them to do.

We spend time discussing the DC comics version of this Crisis on Infinite Earths and how/if the CW will be able to do the story some justice.
