This podcast is an interview with Barrister Robert Kellar KC of 1 Crown Office Row on the subject of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in art and the developing legal framework around this blockchain technology. The sale and trade of digital assets like (fine) art, design and digital fashion has been the “standard use case” for NFTs to date. Robert talks about this and other potential use cases for these digital tokens into the future, considering discussions around whether NFTs might constitute a form of property for legal purposes.

Art and Law Podcast 1 - An Interview with Noor Kadhim

This podcast is the first of a series touching on the relationship between Law and Art and Heritage. It is an interview between Victoria Walters, Library Learning Advisor at the Bristol campus of the University of Law and Lawyer and Arbitrator Noor Kadhim, who she met when Kadhim gave a paper at the conference “10 Years On: art and everyday life in Iraq and Iran" at The Mosaic Rooms, London in 2013. Noor gave a compelling paper with Daniel McClean about the Repatriation of Iraq's Looted Heritage under International and Domestic Law and Practice. Noor’s law practice has included arbitration and litigation since 2008 and she has worked as a deputy counsel at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and administered over 100 cases. Her clients include and have included private collectors and their advisors, Tate, Liverpool Biennial board, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, and several gallerists, art dealers and artists.
