The Everyday Stranger Podcast

The Everyday Stranger Podcast

By Alonzo Williams

Photographer Alonzo Williams Jr has developed a philosophy that human beings' (rather they be acquaintances or strangers) greatest super power is their own life story. In The Everyday Stranger Podcast, Williams strictly bases his episodes on human story by sharing his experiences and encounters with strangers along with interviews with strangers from the past and present.<br /><br />"I see human beings as books waiting to be read. This is the perfect way to learn if you ask me." Alonzo states.<br /><br />In addition, The Everyday Stranger Podcast is the continuance of Alonzo's recent project entitled "Everyday Strangers"- a passion project where he uses the same philosophy but through photography instead.<br /><br />"My job is to explore the diversity of the human race, converse with strangers no matter what our differences may be, while at the same time staying true to myself"- Alonzo Williams Jr

Deeper than Photography w/ Jamel Shabazz - #044

Deeper than Photography w/ Jamel Shabazz - #044

In this episode I speak with legendary photographer, Jamel Shabazz. When people ask me who are the top 5 photographers of all time; you better believe that Mr Shabazz is always the first name mentioned.

Jamel Shabazz has influenced my life not only as a photographer but as a man in general.

I was first intrigued by Brother Shabazz's work when I discovered how he was able to capture black people in his community of Brooklyn before the crack era. He's also responsible for a lot of the b-boy style images that we admire today.

You can learn more from Mr. Jamel Shabazz here:

A Very Intellectual Conversation w/ The Blu Mantic- #034

In this episode, I reconnect with a good brother of mine. And though I only met today's guest once in person back in 2015, we're able to converse with each other as if we just seen each other yesterday. That's how connected we truly are!

Blu aka The Blu Mantic is a music artist currently residing in Poland. In 2015, I featured him in my 100 Strangers Project where he shared his story. Fast forward to now, I had the privilege of learning about Blu'e growth since the last time we met.  We talk about his latest LP "Sanctuary", the point of being a man, creativity and more!

You'll surely enjoy this discussion.

Being a Man, Losses & Setbacks & Respect w/ Ray - #032

A question that I've been pondering is on these days is "what does it mean to be a man?". In this episode, I learn from the perspective of today's guest, Ray aka The Great Eighth. Ray was featured in the 100 Strangers Project I did in 2015. He was also featured in the 100 Strangers Documentary that was released in 2016. We sit down to talk about one of our biggest setbacks in life and how much we have grown since the last time we met.

There are a few people who I speak to on a regular basis who make me think "hmm I have to get them on the podcast". Ray has always been one of those people.

ENJOY!
