Failure after failure leads them to believe that their fate has been sealed away and forgotten about, resembling that of the old ruins of the original Heol Fanog. This place you call home just turned itself into a theater of dimensions warping your senses and your mind to it's will. You have no idea what to make of it. No one has any idea what to make of it. Same goes for our story tonight while we start unpacking the events that have become famously know as, Heol Fanog. Located in Wales and swallowed by the majesty of the "Brecon Beacons" lies an isolated farmhouse with a horrifying past. A home which can even use the "past" of its victims to further its acts of madness. The Rich family moved into their new home in May of 1989 but little did they know that their keys opened more than just a door, but a realm of impossibilities. We present to you part 1 of a 2 part series on the unfolding story of this notorious Witch Farm. Over the course of these episodes we want you to ask yourself if you believe in the power of imagination... or the power of realization?

During the early to mid-1930's, an event would take place on the Isle of Man that could only be described as a child's, crazy imagination come to life. Gef, or the "Dalby Spook", as it is otherwise known as, was a ghost/cryptid/faerie/thing... that inhabited the farmstead of the Irving family and caused much mischief, trouble, and damage to them and their household. It wouldn't take long before newspapers and investigators would learn about this supernatural creature and want their piece of the paranormal pie.

Just before the turn of the 20th century, a brand new lighthouse sitting atop the island known as Eilean Mor, off the west coast of Scotland, would endure it's rite of passage and have it's light first lit on December 7th, 1899. Blanketed in misfortune from decades past, Eilean Mor, along with it's fellow islands known collectively as the Flannan Isles, located the Outer Hebrides, is no stranger to shipwrecks and to the loss of sailors. To combat the issue of lost goods and the seafaring death toll continuously rising just like the waves of the world's unforgiving seas, a lighthouse was built... but it wouldn't take long for this area to reel back in it's feeling of overwhelming despair as just a little over a year, on December 26th, 1900, three lighthouse keepers stationed on Eilean Mor would never be seen, or heard from, again. In one of the most intriguing disappearance cases of all time, you'll quickly find that no theory works in it's entirety. Nothing adds up completely in order to hand you a foolproof solution. Your mind will be pulled in every direction while trying to gather ideas on what caused these three experienced lighthouse keepers to vanish without a trace over a century ago. Hello, everyone. Times are tough. The Farthest Reaches had to step back from the podcasting scene for a little while due to some important, personal matters that took precedent. We hope you're still with us and are just as excited to reach back into the world of the bizarre and strange as we are. Today, we're doing just that. In honor of National UFO Day of 2022, we present to you the Ariel School UFO Incident! On September 16th, 1994, in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, around 60 students ranging from grades K-6 would experience an extraterrestrial event that even the famous Dr. J. Allen Hynek himself wishes he could have been a part of. In the morning hours, these students would bestow their sights on a craft, sometimes reported as multiple crafts, that slowly descended into a nearby field with two strange occupants stepping out for a breath of that fresh, crisp, earthly air. As the students congregated around the spellbinding scene, one of the otherworldly visitors began to approach the children. Upon doing so they released a torrent of information in the form of thoughts, specifically images, that only some students could bare and comprehend. These thoughts were a warning that "Mother Earth" wasn't doing too well and were possibly describing humanity's final moments... There have been many interviews conducted and television shows portraying the events that took place on that early fall day in Ruwa. The only thing that is certain though is that the kids stick with their story. None of them have strayed away in the nearly 30 years since and following the recent release of "Ariel Phenomenon", a documentary nearly 15 years in the making, about the Ariel School experience, there is new evidence brought to light that may potentially point us in the right direction with this case. When digging into these stories and legends from 10, 50, 100, 1000, or however many years ago, it just goes to show that our world, our universe, has always been strange and forever will be strange.

HOLY SHIT, it sure has been awhile since the crew at TFR has brought you some good news. Well, that is going to change right now! We have assembled once more and have a HUGE SACK of goodies to share with you! We have extraterrestrials telepathically speaking to a meth addict, a strange amorphous blob caught on camera, a superior mirage, PLUS SO MUCH MORE YOU WON'T BELIEVE.

One animal that has seen it's fair share of importance, but mostly infamy, while rising through the superstitious minds of human history is the owl. A couple of the owl's powers that people believe in are possessing the ability to commune with our ancestors while being a spawn from the underworld. Nonetheless, the majority of people believe it is here to cause mischief and misfortune for us earth-walkers until the end of days. We can find the owl's influence as far back as Sumerian culture, the ancient Greeks, and even in todays masonic architectural layout of Washington D.C. (seriously go check out some pictures of it). The owl has been linked to various cryptids like todays subject and even the infamous Mothman of Point Pleasant as well as the descriptions of some people's encounters with extraterrestrials. The owl has vigorously gripped within it's talons; the human psyche. Overpowering it with the dominance and authority that it holds in the realm of the supernatural. From this supernatural uprising, we have the Stikini from Seminole Peoples folklore. A human/avian hybrid that shapeshifts between forms depending on the time of day. During daylight hours, the monster turns human, indistinguishably. It blends into society, staking out the lay of the land and scouting for potential prey. Upon nightfall, the Stikini turns into a murderous, bipedal, avian humanoid and seeks out the hearts of it's victims. A true supernatural serial killer if you ask us. Unfortunately, with the majority of Seminole peoples folklore being of oral tradition, we don't have too much information on the Stikini and therefore it may be somewhat lost to history. Nevertheless, if you find this legend hard to believe in, that doesn't make it any less real for others... 

We are finally back after a few setbacks with our second and final entry in our series on the Dyatlov Pass Incident! We briefly touched over the timelines for the discovery of the hiker's bodies as well as the investigation that was underway trying to find out exactly what happened to them. In part two, we take a much more in depth look at these events, plus a long discussion over some of the more plausible, or generally grouped as the "more accepted", theories. January 27th, 1959 - 10 hikers, lead by the experienced outdoorsman, Igor Dyatlov, stare into the white abyss that was Sverdlovsk Oblast, otherwise known as “the gateway to Siberia”. After travelling by bus and train through the Ural Mountains, the final trek of their journey, reaching Otorten Mountain, was finally upon them. What they had worked so hard for was closer than ever. They packed up their supplies and departed the small village of Vizhay, the last official outpost and means of communication with the outside world, for the next two weeks. However, little did anyone know, that would be the last means of communication not for two weeks, but forever, for the hikers would experience unimaginable, overmastering terror, ultimately leading them to their deaths on February 2nd, 1959. Almost a month later, their tent site was finally discovered by search groups, eventually leading them to their bodies, their vessels of flesh, to be found… in very odd circumstances. To this day, the case remains unsolved, and the infamous mountain pass was named Dyatlov’s Pass in honor of, Igor Dyatlov.

Explanations range from ordinary to extraordinary; avalanche, windstorm, murder, bear attack, escaped prisoner, Infrasound, tiny tornadoes, death by nuclear waste, a secret government testing facility, radiation, mythical artic dwarves, Yeti, UFO’s… just about anything you can think of.

You wake up early one sunny September morning. As you're on your way down to the kitchen you stop into each of your kid's rooms to make sure they are up for school. You make their lunches and pack their bags as they run downstairs and out the door to catch the bus, but not before giving you a hug and kiss. A list of errands mark your calendar, so you set off. Your back in time to see your kids dropped off and then not much later, your husband walks in after a long day of work, happy to see you and the kids. Dinner is made and you all sit around the kitchen table discussing how everyone's day went. As today comes to a close, everyone gets ready for bed. You tuck in your children and give them a kiss goodnight. As you drift off to sleep, any worries you had today, slip away. Suddenly, you wake up. It's the middle of the night and your husband is awake, coughing and gasping for air. You lean over and before you can say anything, you too begin to endure the same symptoms. Your throat starts to burn and gets worse with every pronounced cough. Your eyes burn in sync with your throat and water profusely, making it impossible to keep them open so you can stay aware of your surroundings. You both fall onto the floor. That's when you notice your body doesn't want to respond. With each passing second, you become increasingly paralyzed, but how? You both panic as the two of you lay on the floor, convulsing and struggling to break the binds of this phantasm of immobility. You two stare into each other's eyes wandering... if this... is it. Puzzled, that thought starts to make it's exit as you slowly regain feeling throughout your body. Once movement is achieved, you crawl towards the phone and call the police. By the time law enforcement arrives, you and your husband are feeling completely fine besides the slight burning that was left in your throat. Once you could traverse the house, you immediately check on your kids to see if they are alright. They were more than alright though, because somehow they never knew what was happening, let alone being held hostage by some unseen power. The cops take your statements and investigate the house but find no evidence for what took place just hours ago. Once they leave, your neighbor arrives at your front door wandering why the cops made an appearance. As you retell your fateful encounter, your neighbor gasps and then proceeds to tell a story... about how she was attacked the night before in the same manner. Interestingly, there was one detail about her story that you couldn't claim for yours, and that was the ghastly figure, dressed in all black, that was seen trying to get inside their home.

It's the turn of the 20th century and revolutionary inventions are sitting on the horizon. In 1901 we have the vacuum cleaner and in 1902 we have air conditioning. In 1903 we have Orville and Wilbur Wright making the first successful manned controlled powered flight. Amongst these great inventors and their wonderful creations lies another. An invention of... fear? Courage? Tourism? Or perhaps just a great story. That story would be about the Van Meter Visitor. A creature that defied explanation at the time and terrorized a number of residents in the small town of Van Meter, Iowa. Don't let this story be overlooked though. Sure, it might not have the most evidence to support it's high strangeness but based off of the research that we here at TFR had conducted, there could be a lot of validity buried deep within the newspaper article that first brought it to life. The creature described could potentially fall into the realm of reality as we know of many other species that inhabit our world that share some of the traits as the Van Meter Visitor, described by locals. It's a short but tantalizing tale that was unearthed by Chad Lewis, Noah Voss, and Kevin Nelson and it has brought forth an incredible story to be told until the end of time, the Van Meter Visitor Festival that is held in late September every year, monster hunters to traverse the town at night in search of a cryptozoological wonder, and much more. As we learned in part 1 of this series, the phenomena that enshrouds Skinwalker Ranch has been happening for centuries. The natives of the surrounding, legendary lands have noticed the paranormal irregularities that occur in nature and have learned to live amongst it, to respect each other. History tends to stretch out it's helping hand for anyone but native peoples, causing grief, remorse, misfortune, murder, etc., and if we've learned anything from our favorite paranormal stories, it's that those very emotions and/or events are components in the birth of some of this phenomena and the originators of these tales believe that those elements have been twisted and used in the making of curses. Are there such things as curses? Can a person actually acquire the ability to bestow an invisible force upon a fellow human, animal, structure, land... anything really... and cause nothing but "bad luck"? That's what the skeptics call it. For some people, there is no such thing as luck. There is only reason. For part 2 of this series we will discuss some of the strangest, albeit most entertaining, stories that took place on the property from 1994-1996 that left the occupants of the ranch, The Shermans, more so believers rather than skeptics. Most stories on the concept of the paranormal include one topic within their own historical echoes - sasquatch, ghosts, missing time...but like we said, most. Some stories like to take it to an entirely new mythopoetic level where they become so enriched with phenomena that the line between reality and the unknown becomes blurred. Perhaps the most famous one of these stories is that of Skinwalker Ranch. A place where the liminality of both minds and dimensions seems to be paper thin. So thin in fact that there just might be a tear or two within that paper-like fabric of what we call reality because many people that have set foot on this ranch claim to experience very bizarre events. This 512 acre property has had practically every phenomena witnessed on it; UFO's, ghosts, cryptids, telepathy, orbs, mysterious humanoids, the list goes on and on. Despite the incredible amount of experimental research that has been conducted on the ranch over the years combined with a severe lack of evidence to support said research, Skinwalker Ranch continues to prove itself over and over again because people are endlessly fascinated with the "gifted" land. All we know is, that everybody here at TFR would gladly call Skinwalker Ranch home.

On Vancouver Island, BC, there is a small, beautiful place known as Duncan or as many locals call it, the City of Totems. Duncan is peaceful and doesn't carry the burden of much wrongdoing or tragedy amongst it's fellow residents. One of those tragedies would be the harrowing night of November 29th, 1980, where a great and violent storm would uproot the serene perspectives that the people had on their beloved city. With winds howling like a wolf and lightning as if it had been thrown by Zeus himself, the storm would put on a song and dance the likes of which was never seen before. It would be a tragic hymn that would forever be played in their minds. But perhaps the most unforgettable aspect of that fearful night, was the disappearance of an incredible young man known as Granger Taylor. Granger was a savant when it came to mechanics and he wowed his fellow townsfolk over and over with both his restorations and creations. Everyone loved Mr. Taylor. He was bright, ambitious, perseverant, and loved to help others evolve and become their better selves. In his final months, Granger had become infatuated with the idea of extraterrestrials and U.F.O.s. He was fascinated with the concept so much that he even received a message, telepathically, one day by these intergalactic beings. The message that Taylor had acquired was enigmatic to everyone else but him. He could not disclose it's contents as it was meant to be understood by his mind and his mind only. Granger Taylor could only give one detail; the aliens will arrive one day during a storm to take him with them on a voyage throughout space and time...and so, it allegedly happened.

In the middle of WWII, the residents of the thriving city of Los Angeles were high-strung and on edge ever since the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor. The warfront had been brought to the Californian's doorsteps as the Japanese Empire made it's move rejecting to abide by any of the United State's negotiations. The face of the earth had been beaten and bruised and now scars have been erected to remember the fallen and the tragedy that once befell our great nation. But in the midst of the chaos, among the rubble that we call memories, there lies an event that many people are conflicted about. The Great Air Raid of Los Angeles, or better known as The Battle of Los Angeles, is one of the most interesting and head-scratching moments in the U.S.'s history of WWII....and it only lasted for about an hour. However, to some, the side effects from this incident will remain forever. In the early hours of February 25th, 1942, the U.S. military would catch a strange object on radar that would soon fly above the residents of LA and make many of them stare into the sky and give more thought about what could be out there, beyond our own skies, than ever before. Military personnel and civilians alike would gather in the streets and open fire at the unidentified flying object.
