More about Katie:
Katie Beal Brown left her ad director job to launch a hard seltzer inspired by her West Texan roots in 2018, building an entirely new sub-category of tequila-inspired seltzers within the fastest-growing alcohol segment. Leveraging her ad experience and instincts, Brown found early success in the tough-to-crack adult beverage category by leaning into the values of the American West, brand storytelling, and 1:1 communication with customers. Brown's Lone River Beverage Company hit shelves amid the global pandemic in April 2020, but that didn't slow her down. She continued to lead her startup through a global can shortage, multi-state expansion, product development, and the onset of copycat competition. Lone River Ranch Water was profitable after its first month in business. Brown also negotiated an acquisition with global spirits and beer company Diageo within her first year in business – during the biggest winter storm to hit Texas. Brown remains CEO of the brand, and continues to personally manage the @RanchWater social accounts, and has a distinct vision for marketing and advertising behind Lone River. She knew the value of unique brand partnerships and sought out like-minded collaborations with brands like Lucchese, Kemo Sabe, the NFR, and more. Brown has become a modern voice in the adult beverage industry being featured in WSJ, Forbes, Fox Business, Vinepair, and recently joined Brewbound’s “Brew Talks” panel on alt beer.

More about London Kaye:
London Kaye is a street artist based in Los Angeles, California. Her unique use of crochet to create art pieces made entirely of yarn has brought smiles to communities around the world and has allowed London to create a business out of something handmade. Born in Los Angeles, California, London received her BFA in dance from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating London realized that her love for crochet, and unexpected joy, came together harmoniously when she began using crochet to interact with the environment and surrounding community. She began installing art daily on the streets of Brooklyn and New York City. Quickly her work became easily recognizable by her community's people and businesses. London launched her own line of yarn specifically made for indoor and outdoor use, and her first book titled, Crochet with London Kaye. Through her time leading workshops and teaching crochet, London came to realize the best qualities of her favorite crochet hooks and combined them together using 3D printing technology to create a unique new style “Crochet Hook with a Twist”. She received a patent for the design. As London’s career has expanded to collaborating with brands like Starbucks, Miller Lite, Disney, and The Gap, she continues to crochet street art for her neighborhood and beyond.
Episode 133: Ohla! Foods: Healthy Food that Tastes Good TOO!
Lauren shares with The Girl Gang Podcast her journey to creating a food business that brings healthy food that tastes good too!
More about Lauren: As a young girl, founder Lauren’s fondest memories were in the kitchen cooking with her family. When Lauren met her husband Stephen in college, the two of them could often be found cooking in the kitchen for all their friends. Food brings people together around a table, and the two of them love hosting family and friends. Lauren and Stephen Schwalb came up with the idea to create a health food company that offered nutritious and healthy foods and tasted good. After completing Whole 30 together at the start of 2020, they became super interested in what they were eating and feeding their family. As an active family of four, they wanted to eat healthily but didn’t want to sacrifice taste. They wanted healthy alternatives that tasted great, too. Out of that, Ohla! was born!

Want to know more about Hair Mari? Read the story below!
Hari Mari’s story started in Indonesia, where the husband and wife team, Jeremy and Lila Stewart, lived and worked for several years, starting in 2007. During their time in the island nation, Jeremy was producing a documentary film on children fighting hunger and malnutrition in Southeast Asia, and Lila was volunteering on behalf of the American Women’s Association in Jakarta, spearheading in-country fundraising, clothing drives, and food donations to aid and support orphans across the archipelago. Their unique & indelible experiences clicked and spurred a collective passion for helping kids abroad. Moving back to the States in 2010 and expecting their first child, the two decided the next project they undertook would be to help kids here in the US, and when they saw an unmet need for comfortable and colorful flip flops at a premium level, they married the two passions together to found Hari Mari. Jeremy and Lila were shocked to learn that pediatric cancer is the most fatal disease amongst American kids, a deeply concerning statistic that immediately launched what is now an embedded part of Hari Mari’s DNA – giving 1% of sales to support kids battling pediatric cancer – they call it Flops Fighting Cancer. Paying homage to the origin of their commitment to helping kids and the trace root of the brand, “Hari” (Hahr- ee) literally means “sun” in the Indonesian Language while “Mari” (Mahr- ee) means “sea” in Latin, but Lila & Jeremy are more likely to tell you Hari Mari just means making a great pair of flip flops that also help support a lot of incredibly brave children. Hari Mari launched in 2012, bringing clever color and superlative comfort together in a singular flip flop, creating looks as unique as the people who wear them. Described by Details Magazine as “The only sandals a guy should wear” and tapped as “stylish and absurdly comfortable” by Outside Magazine. Hari Mari’s can be found in select retailers and online at HariMari.com.
