The Hockey Writers Podcast – Ep. 20 – NHL Playoffs: Brandon & Zeke Talk Sharks
On this edition of the Hockey Writers Podcast, Brandon fills in for Jim who was unable to host this week. The special guest is Zeke from The Hockey Writers to chat the San Jose Sharks first-round victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.    An exciting first round of the playoffs was highlighted (or low-lighted depending on your viewpoint) by the Vegas vs. San Jose series which ended in controversial fashion. A 5-minute major penalty by Cody Eakin, which many thought wasn't a penalty, helped spur the Sharks onto four goals and eventually a win.

The Hockey Writers Podcast – Ep. 18 – NHL Teams That Missed Playoffs... Now What?
On the 18th episode of The Hockey Writers Podcast, Brandon and I take a good long look at the NHL franchises that either missed or will probably miss the 2018-19 NHL postseason. We focus on the teams that probably were expected to do more, but for some reason just couldn't pull it all together.  It's just the two of us this week, talking back and forth and chatting hockey. It's one of the least formal episodes we've done but one of the most fun as well. We hope you enjoy.  On This Week’s THW Podcast: Brandon and I look specifically at the LA Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils. We also take a quick look at the Columbus Blue Jackets and ask out loud, what happens if this team doesn't make it? Considering all they did to try and get in this season, that could be devastating.  We look at record-breaking individual efforts by players with the Oilers, what might happen to someone like Taylor Hall if the Devils can't pull it together and if teams like Anaheim and Los Angeles will ever be contenders considering the massive contracts they have on the books and how neither team appears to be getting any younger.  Finally, what happens with free agents like Jeff Skinner or a host of players in Columbus?

The Hockey Writers Podcast – Ep. 14 – One-on-One w/ Former NHL Player Sean Brown
On the 14th episode of The Hockey Writers Podcast, Brandon Share-Cohen stops in to chat about what has so far been a bit of a slower news week in the NHL. That said, there are still some interesting topics to chat about. We visit with former NHL'er Sean Brown. An ex-Edmonton Oiler, Boston Bruin, New Jersey Devil, and Vancouver Canucks player, Brown spent many years in the NHL but also five years playing hockey in Europe. The Hockey Writers Podcast – Ep. 12 – NHL Trade Deadline and Making Goalie Masks
On the 12th episode of The Hockey Writers Podcast, we give a final update on the NHL Trade Deadline as we visit with Josh Bell who covers the Ottawa Senators for the Hockey Writers, with Tony Wolak who covers the Detroit Red Wings and with Eugene Helfrick who covers the Tampa Bay Lightning.    What to Expect on the Podcast This Week… I touch on a quick update on the NHL trade deadline that is only four days away and while a player like Charline Coyle was moved yesterday to the Bruins and Hagelin to the Washington Capitals today, we're still waiting for the big names to go. Most of the delay seems to be teams waiting to see what the Ottawa Senators will do.

THW Podcast - Ep 5: Sean Shapiro Dallas Stars, Reid Wilkins Edmonton Oilers
No two teams have been more front and center than the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers this week. In one city, the CEO called out two of its star players and set the hockey world on fire with the colorful language used to describe their play. In another city, the GM has been making trades and moves in an attempt to stop a five-game losing streak, adding depth on their blue line but in the process picking up a player who has a heated history with the star of the team.  We’ll bring in Sean Shapiro of the Athletic and Reid Wilkins with the Edmonton Oilers and 630 Ched and talk all about the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers. It’s the Stars, it’s the Oilers on Episode 5 of The Hockey Writers podcast!

On the fourth episode of the Hockey Writers Podcast, we bring in two respected Hockey Writers contributors in Stephen Ground and Greg Boysen and discussed the top five stories of 2018 in the NHL. We all know that the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup and Ovechkin erased all doubts he couldn't win the big one. But, was that the top story of the 2018 season and calendar year? Where did the discussion on the Toronto Maple Leafs and John Tavares or William Nylander rank? Plus, we can't forget the Cinderella story that was the Vegas Golden Knights expansion season.

THW Podcast – Ep. 3: Lightning, Penguins, and NHL Officiating with Kerry Fraser One-on-One
On the third episode of the Hockey Writers Podcast, my made quick stops in Pittsburgh to chat with Shane Darrow and Tampa Bay to talk with Eugene Helfrick but the bulk of our show this week was on the topic of NHL officiating. A hot-button topic recently, just this past week there were countless instances where calls weren't being made, where stars were getting frustrated with the inconsistency in the games and one coach addressed the state of the NHL towards star players as troubling. It made sense to go straight to someone who would really know how to put a label on the problem. Our special guest this week was former NHL referee, Kerry Fraser.
