The Chronicles of Kura: A D&D Playalong Podcast

By The Jade Frogs

Greetings fellow travellers! We're the Jade Frogs, and you are (most likely) a friend of ours, a diehard D&D fan, or a wayward soul surfing the net who is just one run-on sentence away from going and listening to one of the bajillion other D&D podcasts out there. We get it--some of them have celebrity voice actors. We don't pretend to even hold a candle to those folks. In fact, please, go listen to them first, and only come back if you still have some spare time when you're done. Mostly, we just want you to hang out with us, because you seem cool, and we like making new friends.

Episode 7: Wormhole

IN THIS EPISODE: Having reached the Citadel Tower and heard a strange prophecy from their old friend Svendel Appelbee, the Frogs have decided to head Southeast in the hopes of somehow bringing an end to the war between Barodias and Arkosia--neighbouring states of tiefling and dragonborn, respectively. After a day spent wandering the various floors of the Citadel, making some surprising discoveries therein, the Frogs begin the long desert journey toward Quall, a trade city believed to be providing weapons and supplies to both of the warring nations. Midway through the sands, however, the Frogs encounter an unusual hole in the ground--and prepare to face a monstrous foe unlike any they have seen before.

Episode 5 - A Horse Of Another Celestial Plane

Episode 5 - A Horse Of Another Celestial Plane

After last week's cliffhanger ending, we rejoin our heroes at the final stage of the Jade Trials, where they must unexpectedly set aside their weapons in order to pull off a uniquely Jade Frog-ish musical performance. Having finally proven themselves to be the true and living Jade Frogs of Yore, the adventurers are treated to a heroes' welcome (back) in Phandelin. Right away, beyond all expectations, their old friend Nundro proves to be a loyal trustee of the Frogs' mining fortune, tiding them over to the tune of 26-thousand gold pieces (Cha-ching!). Their pockets lined and hearts emboldened, the Frogs continue along the High Road in the hopes of finally clearing up the mysterious blockage and appeasing Chief Buldur (who says trade disputes have to be boring?), only to be confronted by yet another friendly face--or rather, muzzle--who quickly presents them with an ethical dilemma as well as an interdimensional offer they can't refuse. Hold on to your hoods, everyone: the Frogs may be about to leap through the Sands of Time one more time.

Featuring: Robbie Grant as KALARK; Daniel Fishbayn as FESTE; Andrew Luba as JUNO; Abe Herst as DAIN; Ben Mayer-Goodman as GRUMSKILL;  Simon Foster as DUNGEON MASTER.

Episode 3: Strangers in a Strange Town

Episode 3: Strangers in a Strange Town

The saga continues in this special double episode, as the Jade Frogs arrive in Tuskan and explore the coastal city that Feste once called home. The revolution they helped inspire 97 years ago seems to have been a success, but at what cost? A strangely familiar statue in the town square seems to suggest that, in order to get any answers, the Frogs will need to first rise up and prove who they really are. Also featured: Kalark goes fishing; a local blacksmith shares his passion project; Dain provokes Seruba and clashes with Juno over his 'evil ring'; and the Frogs meet a strange new ally who vaguely resembles Danny DeVito.

CAST:
Robbie Grant as KALARK; Daniel Fishbayn as FESTE; Andrew Luba as JUNO; Abe Herst as DAIN; introducing Ben Mayer-Goodman as GRUMSKILL; Simon Foster as DUNGEON MASTER

Episode 2: A Necessary Alliance

Episode 2: A Necessary Alliance

"From the moment I felt the sharp burn of hot metal piercing through my belly, I suddenly knew who we were dealing with. Pirates. The lowest of the low. Scourge of the High Seas. And thus began an encounter with scoundrels I had hoped to never report in these pages."
-Feste's adventure log

Join us for another FUN-ASS episode of our new campaign, The Sands of Time, in which the Jade Frogs stumble out of the forest to the Western shore, where they discover they're sharing the beach with some highly suspicious characters. Before they know it, the Frogs stumble upon one of the great *treasures* of life along with a perfect method of transport to Tuskan--except as it turns out, the only one can pilot it is a mysterious new ally whom not everyone is willing to trust. Also featured: a guest appearance of a bizarre little monk named Djirk Djengus from Elseweyr (Or is it Forest Hill?); teenage half-orc ruffians; and a hidden *literal* fire-arm.

Cast
Robbie Grant as KALARK; Daniel Fishbayn as FESTE; Andrew Luba as JUNO; Abe Herst as DAIN; Ben Mayer-Goodman as DJIRK;  Simon Foster as DUNGEON MASTER

READ BELOW: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO ENJOY THIS EPISODE!

Our journey so far...

For many moons, The Jade Frogs journeyed far and wide throughout the land of Kura and had many great adventures. They discovered and reinstated the dwarven mines within the Wave Echo Cavern, slew the fearsome dragon Venom-Fang, and incited a people's revolution in the port city of Luskan, just to name a few of their accomplishments.

Whispers then told them of a sickness at the very heart of Kura itself--the cause for the rampant famine and drought plaguing their homeland.

At a moment's notice, they set out via airship to Mount Kura, that most forbidden of places where the Gods were said to reside. There, deep within the earth's core, they discovered nothing less than interdimensional warriors determined to spread darkness from their plane of existence to ours.

Against all odds, our heroes managed to hold these forces of darkness at bay and escape with their lives. But as the warriors declared to the Jade Frogs before vanishing into a planar portal, "This is just the beginning." Carried upon rafts, our heroes escaped on the outflow of Mount Kura straight to the murky waters of the Duskmire. Here, they had a chance encounter with their old friend Umji, who gravely informed them that 97 years had passed since they had departed on their airship.

Indeed, with the portal open, it seems the Gods have lost their grip over....

THE SANDS OF TIME.

(Cue an epic orchestral flourish.)

As our story begins, the Jade Frogs stand weary and bedraggled in the soggy marshes of the Duskmire. Will they escape the dark forest and reach Feste's hometown of Luskan, now known as Tuskan? What good or evil will they find there? Will they learn more of these interdimensional warriors on their quest to save Kura, or are they already too late? Moreover, after 97 years, the Jade Frogs fear the worst when it comes to their loved ones. But just how far have the Sands of Time slipped?

THE JADE FROGS are...

Dain: Abe Herst

Feste: Daniel Fishbayn

Juno: Andrew Luba

Kalark: Robbie Grant
