From elevators to singing in the shower, we often just go through the motions. When was the last time you expanded your comfort zone and did more stare at the elevator floor or hum in the shower? If we are unable to open ourselves up to the people around us, how will we be able to create new ways to be and allow for new opportunity in our lives? Going through the motions is an act of limitation. It holds you back from what you might think is possible. So, the next time you're in an elevator, say hello, then compliment the person somehow. Regret is not a word anyone likes to hear let alone relate it to something in their lives. Because of our busy natures we rarely stop to smell the flowers as people say. We take for granted the moments that pass us by until we are no longer busy anymore leaving us with time to catch up on the things we've missed. This is an absurd way of going through life; watching everything pass by. Instead, we should be creating new memories and setting about on new journeys. Our lives are built on the stories we tell one another, and our stories are alive. They keep us alive too. The lessons that every story contains depends on what you learn along the way. Each generation that came before us heard stories that gave them a reason to move on in the life with a sense of purpose. How we live our lives will determine how interesting and how rich in wisdom our stories of life will be for the children later on.
