In this episode of The Lede Graf, I do a quick deep dive into the history of Henrietta Lacks and the legacy her cells have to biomedical research while also discussing the recent passing of The Henrietta Lacks Enhancing Cancer Research Act. While there’s a lot to cover when it comes to talking about consent in the medical field or even medical racism, I’m going to focus on the use of Henrietta Lacks’ cells and general medical consent when it comes to research.

In this week's episode of The Lede Graf, I do a quick deep dive into the ongoing protest of India's farmers against the recently passed three farming reform acts. India's farmers have been protesting since August of 2020 citing that the new legislation will negatively impact their livelihoods. 86% of India's farmers are considered small. With the passing of these legislations, farmers believe they will hurt an already suffering community.

In this new episode of The Lede Graf, I do a quick deep dive into the world of School Attendance Zones. While there's a lot to talk about when it comes to this topic, I’m mainly going to focus on the racial and funding impact of the zones. The question is how do we create more equitable school attendance zones so all students can succeed? I also cover the stories of Kelly Williams- Bolar and the Clinton School District in Mississippi!
