Embracing Menopause with Dawn Chrystal

Dawn Chrystal is a holistic coach and natural therapist who uses Bach Flower Remedies to help with menopausal mood swings. Dawns main message though is that it is essential to realise our inner conflict may be triggered by other changes in our situation and therefore we should consider the whole picture and not just focus on menopause as the cause.

How one mother coped with her emergency c-section when she had set her hopes on a natural birth.

Registered dietician, Leslie Urbas was adamant that she would have a natural birth with little or no medication. After all, she was ultra fit and no one in her family had ever had a c-section birth. However, life doesn't always go the way we expect and Leslie found herself needing the cesarean. Leslie joins me today to tell us about her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Lily.

Lets talk about PMDD.

Lets talk about PMDD.

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD is a cyclical hormone based mood disorder affecting some women and assigned females at birth. The symptoms of PMDD can be  severe and many sufferers go through horrible periods every month, even making them contemplate suicide.  Emily Holloway and Allie McHugh, who between them have over 20 years experience working in mental health decided to form the PMDD collective after noticing there was such a lack of support.  Emily and Ally join me on todays episode.

How can we keep our energy strong and flowing during the transition of menopause?

How can we keep our energy strong and flowing during the transition of menopause?

Today I am joined by Annie McDonnell, licensed acupuncturist and sound practitioner from New York. Annie is chatting to me about using acupuncture to support the transition through menopause as well as other helpful Chinese medicine practices to keep our energy strong and flowing. These practices can help to get our mind, body and spirit back into balance. Menopause can be difficult but it can also be a rich and beautiful time of our life.

The book Annie mentions is 'Second Spring' by Dr Maoshing Ni.
