meanwhile, rachel's maternal 'instincts' are non-existent. a battle of brauns amongst the friends has the group picking sides. and, are phoebe and her twin's beau star-crossed lovers?

meanwhile, a heavily expected yet not-so-surprise bridal shower has the girls scrambling. a no-sex pact and an unexpected visit from a cousin has everyone in heat 🥵. and, joey uncovers (pun intended) the length (pun intended) he would go to land a gig.

this is the latest in the night we've ever recorded and we're regretting it. ross spurs a conversation about teacher crushes where leann makes luellen real uncomfy. and, we wonder how our episode ratings correlate with matthew perry's lack of airtime.

meanwhile, joey accepts and keeps an award on another's behalf. monica is getting cold feet about her upcoming nuptials. and, ross gets charmed by a student.

richard 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 back 👏🏼! we get THE og 'daddy' back for two episodes only and i think we're swooning more now than we did before...because...🥵. luellen is reading leann's mail (a.k.a. instagram algorithm (a.k.a. amazon recent purchases)). and, could we mention more how we're winding down the season? because i think we've said it for the last 8 episodes straight.

meanwhile, ross parents his girlfriend and her friends. chandler's plans get foiled by an unexpected run-in so he comes up with a plan to throw monica 'off-the-scent'. and, joey confuses the silent auction with a 'the price is right' situation...landing him in *wink wink* troubled water.

s6 e23 • the one with the freeze-out (the one with the ring)

luellen reviews one of leann's previous 'recommend to a friend'. we discuss engagement ring preferences. and, a very specific men's wrist watch question is posed.

meanwhile, paul pops the top off his pickle jar of emotions. phoebe foils a major purchase. and, the boys struggle with the dynamics of a friendship trio.

s6 e22 • the one with the voicemail (the one where paul's the man)

leann is an 89 year old woman with back issues. we're still cringing at the father-daughter exchange happening at the cabin. and, we begin to reconsider a certain recurring segment's place in our show agenda.

meanwhile, ross and paul have the same idea for a weekend getaway with their women. joey makes a faux pas in his effort to get his photo back on the wall at the laundromat. and, one unexpected voicemail launches us toward the climactic height of the best storyline of this entire series.

s6 e21 • the one with bruce willis (the one where ross meets elizabeth's dad)

us two bookended scorpions swoon a little at 45yo bruce willis. we always appreciate a good ross-roast. and, we reveal what (leann) thinks to be one of the show's most glaringly obvious continuity misses.

meanwhile, our little writer friend, phoebe, finds inspiration to write from her real life. rachel's job of hoisting ross's reputation gloriously spirals over a double date. and, joey is scrambling to fight his way back into his newest role.

s6 e20 • the one with the montages (the one with mac and c.h.e.e.s.e.)

phew - this is a quickie! luellen gives a duolingo update. leann gives her thoughts on the cyclical nature of fashion trends. and, we discuss montage episodes and the context that validated their pre-historic existence.

meanwhile, chandler makes a big friendship 'oops'. the ghost of seasons past makes an appearance. and, the chick and the duck return for their final series bow.

s6 e19 • the one with the spring vacation (the one with joey's fridge)

we're finding ourselves in an episode slump with these current story lines and trying to push through. leann's food cravings and her budget are competing for top spot in today's conundrum. and, luellen's 13 year old self is living her best life with a recent purchase.

meanwhile, joey fundraises amongst his friends to replace his fridge. rachel releases her wing women to recruit a plus one. and, ross struggles with his girlfriend going on a 'woo-hoo' spring break.

s6 e18 • the one with hotel monica (the one where ross dates a student)

our episode rating took a real nosedive with this one. we talk about eating in the bedroom. the struggle is real on (what should have been) a very simple trivia question...did you hear the moment leann knew we weren't getting it? hint: *sigh*. and, leann may or may not know the official language of brazil.

meanwhile, the hottie of the paleontology department starts seeing his student, cutie mcpretty. chandler maybe not-so-accidentally courts an old classmate once girlfriend. and the girls quickly find themselves vying for the room in joey's place.

s6 e17 • the one with salmon skin roll (the one with unagi)

we are back in the preverbal saddle and both fully enjoyed this episode's storylines...most of them at least. leann takes her sweet ol' time 'recapping' her recent health whirlwind. and, we take a quick circle back to rehash the 'unkempt' vs 'unkept' argument and leann gets to the brass tax of her stance...and it's less intellectual than you'd like to think.

meanwhile, chandler and monica settle right back into their comfortable miscommunication trope. joey needs some quick cash but a pivotal misunderstanding disqualifies him from securing the bag. and, ross pits himself again the girls in a battle of the sexes...or rather, a battle of achieving total awareness.

s6 e16 • the one with a lot of 'like' (the one that could have been: part 2)

luellen is killing it at her duolingo learning streak. we take a hard 'L' in the social media spotlight segment from our new friend. and, leann lays out her distaste for the overall theme carried through most of the storylines in these episodes. 

meanwhile, our friends are still in this alternate reality where joey is still a really good person. phoebe still ends up playing gigs at the café. and, carol knows 200+ women that she knows well enough to think they'd be interested in a threesome? well, we may call b.s. on that one. 

s6 e15 • the one with a portly monica (the one that could have been: part 1)

leann doesn't understand the lack of consistency in dvd box sets. we discuss where we both land on the pulp/no pulp debate. and, we've come across the first joke 'miss' of the series...we don't think anything has flopped this hard.

meanwhile, we flash back? forward? to a multiverse reality? to a completely different rendition of our friends! but for all this uncanonized future holds, some things remain true; carol is still carol. barry is still barry. and our favorite couple ends up coupling.

s6 e14 • the one with chicken soup for the soul (the one where chandler can't cry or the one with rachel's sister part 2)

s6 e13 • the one where monica is "fine-d" (the one with Rachel's sister)

we are still recording together in person. leann shares a childhood monopoly memory. and, we talk about our recommend to a friend for like 10 minutes.

meanwhile, joey's giving away free food like it's his to give. rachel becomes her sister's keeper. and, monica become quite the persistent seductress.

s6 e12 • the one where we're better together (the one with the joke)

we are back together, in the flesh, eating chinese food live, anticipating our upcoming trip, sharing our #icks, bantering, and, in real time, forgetting how long it'd been since we'd last seen each other and, samsonite!...we were WAY off. leann's soapbox this week touches both extroverts and 'ambiverts' (which she legitimately does not believe is a real thing). and, luellen single-handedly trashes our credibility.

meanwhile, it seems our friends are all at odds with each other in this episode. joey gets a new job that he's embarrassed about. and, chandler 'maintaining' monica causes a divide betwixt our hosts.     

also, leann's toxic trait is believing she would survive an avalanche. 

s6 e11 • the (first) one of the 2000's (the one with the apothecary table)

we talk about how long it took each of us to make our new states our legal residences. we mull over the psychology of phoebe's desire for specialness. leann get savagely called out by an insta-friend about name pronunciation. we both get called out for being bad at trivia (WE KNOW!!!). and, our hosts are in nyc and so excited for a whirlwind 20hrs. 

s6 e10 • the one with the anti-tinselers (the one with the routine)

we've been loving rachel's quips towards ross over the past few episodes. we point out the atrocity that is lisa kudrow's wig. and, leann has herself some expensive retail therapy which results in several weeks worth of #rtaf and maybe a viewing party? 

meanwhile, joey is still pining after janine when we find out his feelings might not be as unrequited as previously thought. monica and ross strive to live out a childhood dream. and, the girls (alongside chandler) claim their first victory in their annual gift hunt at monica's.

s6 e9 • the one with a beefy trifle and daddy geller (the one where ross got high)

we've circled back around to a thanksgiving episode where we ponder and entertain the idea of spending more solo days in NYC. luellen is an absolute super sleuth with these background catches. and, we got some sort of trick trivia in this episode that has us stumped to this day. 

meanwhile, chandler is not liked by the gellers. rachel is put in charge of making the dessert. and, phoebe has googly eyes for a certain married someone.

s6 e8 • the one where they're all at the cafe at 11:30 on a wednesday (the one with ross's teeth)

a most shocking discovery: luellen is not a legally blonde fan - leann (and their friendship) will never recover from this. and, luellen reveals her long game strategy and eye-witness account that supports her background catch. 

meanwhile, chandler is struggling with his life change and takes it out on joey...and ross...and monica. rachel spills the tea and spreads some office gossip that ends up putting her in a tough situation. and, ross takes extreme measures to impress.
