Anxiety Mastery
In the last few months, many people around have been feeling an increase in their anxiety, and may not even know the cause. If you're nervous, your mind can run away trying to find justifications, and that can lead to a downward spiral - nerves leading to fear, combining into anxiety, imagining awkward situations, and so on.
You don't always need to know the causes to feel anxiety, and as it turns out, many times you don't need to know the causes to solve it either. In this episode, Kurt goes through some perspectives and techniques to help you address, overcome and start to transmute your anxiety and other emotional problems into something beneficial.
Topics discussed include:
Pranayama or breathing exercises
The importance of being open-minded
Dropping anxiety like a weight
Coping mechanisms and thriving strategies
Tech detox
Meditation - mindfulness, seated, walking
The way you think
The power of language over your state of mind
Black and white thinking
How to stick with a habit
How resistance to anxiety causes you to become more anxious; and
Having a little faith

Modern Surrealism: Karla Urbina
Karla Urbina is a painter living in Guadalajara, creating wonderful and unusual artworks that often portray personal and societal struggles, questions about well-being and progress in society. Karla is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of a streetwear company, Existing Is Hard.
In this episode, Kurt interviews Karla about her creative process, how she comes up with the ideas for her artworks, her methods of interpreting the world to influence creativity, how looking at clouds or stains on a ceiling can provide inspiration, what it's like to provide the artwork for a graphic novel, and what it's like to start a company in Mexico.

Know The Wisdom Of Your Ancestors
In a sense, our genetic code holds the wisdom of every generation that has come before us - the keys to millions of years of survival, and even some of prosperity. Is it possible that we can tap into that knowledge? Perhaps even tap into knowledge that is hidden on a spiritual level?
According to Timothy Leary and Robert Anton Wilson, every human being and brain has the ability to access that ancient wisdom, using their own "morphogenetic circuit".
In this episode, Kurt discusses some techniques that people might use to achieve this wisdom, including some from R.A. Wilson's book "Prometheus Rising", Carlos Castaneda, The Secret, and the Dimensional Jumping subreddit.

Nation States End
According to the case made in the book "The Sovereign Individual", the nation state rose to power as a natural consequence of the conditions of the industrial age.
Gunpowder made obsolete the old technology such as armed cavalry, and castles. That set the stage for the efficient smelting of iron, which lead to factories.
Factories are very centralised - making them vulnerable to vandalism and also to taxation. The factory owners needed the protective watch of governments to maintain their properties.
Now we are moving into the information age, and it is much more common to have digital property, in the form of websites and cryptocurrency. In many ways, the nation state is powerless to protect these new forms of property, and in many cases it is powerless to tax them.
Still the belief in the authority of the nation state remains. How long will it hold up? Kurt explores that question and more in this episode of The Paradise Paradox!
Anxiety - 5 Quick Tips To Be Calm And Powerful
A lot of people have been feeling anxious lately. It's hard to say exactly why, but whatever the cause, we all have to find a way to deal with it.
In this video, Kurt explains five tips you can use to improve your state of mind:
1. A yogic alternate breathing exercise.
2. How giving in to your anxiety can help your anxiety.
3. Using a journal to gain a healthy distance from your problems.
4. Being aware of your body and your surroundings to stay centred.
5. How identity affects your emotional state.
Rejected from the USA
I didn't think I'd be welcomed into the USA by being interrogated and stuck in a small room for 48 hours, but that's life.
Arriving to O'Hare airport, I was told to wait so they could ask me a few more questions. I was detained for hours and finally told I would not be allowed to enter the USA on the ESTA visa waiver program, due to my deportation from Mexico two years prior, and as a perpetual traveller, it wasn't clear where my home was.
I sat and meditated quite a lot during those couple of days, looking for reasons to be grateful. It's funny, because in good times I don't always think too much about how to be happy. But in tough times, I always put in the extra effort, so paradoxically I can be happier in the face of adversity. And so, despite external factors, I must proclaim my visit to the USA as a success.
A one-time home to liberty, then people could arrive in the US by Ellis Island as ship crew, passenger or even stowaway and receive an immigration visa. Now, that is certainly not the case. At least I know there are plenty of places in the world that will treat me more kindly.
The Dialectic of History - Arielle Friedman
Arielle Friedman is the former co-host of the Crypto Hippies Podcast, and now a co-host of The Multiversity Project, a podcast for exploring higher-dimensional education.
In this interview we talk about what got her on the path of questioning what governments told her, noticing that their stated intentions weren't aligned with their real intentions. We talk about how that lead her to take an interest in philosophy, particularly in the works of Hegel. And we talk about the future of governments with things like private security and seasteading.

Voluntaryism And Beyond - Katy Kelly
Katy Kelly is one of four hosts of The Multiversity Project, a podcast for "higher-dimensional education", and is known for forming a voluntaryist meet-up in Austin, Texas, as well as in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. Years ago, she decided to leave her comfortable life in the US and head to Mexico to explore greater depths of self-knowledge and understanding a foreign culture, and to find a less stressful life.
In this episode Katy and Kurt discuss Katy's past, how she came to be an advocate in world peace who was set to join the military, discovered libertarianism and voluntaryism, exploring non-violent communication, founding meet-ups, why she decided to move to Mexico and the strangeness of being in a very different culture, how she found work online, why she now has doubts about voluntaryism and the NAP, the philosophical basis of property rights, and how culture can be more important than government in deciding the fate of a nation.
Note: in this episode we mention the structure of Luxembourg, but we were actually thinking of the principality of Liechtenstein.

The Future of Decentralised Organisations - Chris Guida - Cryptonomics
Kurt is joined again by Chris Guida, long-time Bitcoin enthusiast and co-host of The Multiversity Project. In this episode Kurt and Chris discuss the prevailing zeitgeist of capitalism and anti-capitalism, how personal development and responsibility fit into that picture, how the structure of organisations is likely to change in the future, about how companies like Google already give their employees 20% of their hours to work on whatever project they like, and how cryptocurrency enables similar experimentation with business models.

Being Open-Minded with Chris Guida
Welcome to The Paradise Paradox. I'd like to present this interview with my friend and co-host of The Multiversity Project, Chris Guida. Chris is an adventurer and investor. I'll always remember the first time I met him. One of the first things he said to me was "What's your opinion on the nature of objective reality?" I thought, okay, this guy goes straight to the deep questions.
In this episode we talk about what it takes to form an open-minded person, how Myers Briggs personality types can help us explain open-mindedness. We also talk about organisational structures - hierarchical and horizontal, how each has its place. We talk about cryptocurrency as an anti-fragile system and how that's similar to the way we live our lives.
Remember to check out multiversitypodcast.com and look for The Multiversity Project on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. In the next couple of weeks I'll be putting up interviews with the other hosts, Katy Kelly and Arielle Friedman where we talk about what helped them form their own philosophies and open their minds.

Facebook Crypto World Domination - The Libra - Cryptonomics
For a long time, people in the Bitcoin community have hoped that it could reach mass adoption, that everyone would start using it and abandon fiat currency. That hasn't happened yet.
Is it possible that a multinational corporation could take this technology and use their existing user base to introduce it in a way that's user friendly, and dominate the whole market? And if they do, what's the worst that could happen?
Let's talk about Facebook's proposed coin, the Libra.

Dr. Aiden Gregg: Psychopathy Part 2: Pococurantes
Dr. Aiden Gregg is an associate professor at the psychology department of the University of Southampton, where he lectures and conducts research. Dr. Gregg has done a lot of thinking and research about psychopathy, sociopathy, anti-social personality disorder and related ideas.
In this section of the interview, Dr. Gregg further explains psychopathy, and his idea of "redrawing the lines" of psychopathy, sociopathy and anti-social personality disorder, in an idea he calls "the pococurante" - a person who doesn't care about the truth, other people, the future, or even himself in the future. He also talks about the data from Kent Kyle's MRI experiments with psychopaths, how they might indicate an explanation under Freudian theory, with a lack of an ego to negotiate between the sensible and baser desires of a human.
They Don't Believe in Cryptocurrency - Cryptonomics
The total crypto market cap has gone up from $140 B to nearly $170 B over the last month. A lot of people out there are skeptical. They say the price is going to crash, the market is still manipulated, it's a dead cat bounce.
Other people say "look at all this doubt, people are wary, the market isn't coming back."
It seems like a lot of people out there still don't understand market cycles. Disbelief is a part of the cycle, and it might be a very positive one. How can you turn their skepticism to your advantage?

How To Buy Bitcoin & What To Do With It - Cryptonomics
There's a lot to know when it comes to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but a lot of people just want to know the basics - how can I buy it and what am I even meant to do with it?
In this episode, Kurt explains how to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, by purchasing from a regular exchange in your country, arranging a purchase on localbitcoins.com, buying from a decentralised exchange such as Bisq, or buying in person. He also explains the opportunities after you buy your coins - store them and hope the price goes up, trade them for other tokens to speculate or use, or use them for purchases such as Amazon gift cards - or illicit goods on the dark net.

Crypto For Content Creators - Cryptonomics
Many cryptocurrency-based sites have popped up over the last 3 years, giving content creators a chance to make money from their art. Steemit gives bloggers a chance to earn some cash, and there are several sites based on the Steem platform - DTube for videos, DSound for podcasts, songs or other audio, Dmania for memes, Utopian for open-source programmers, and even Steem Monsters the trading card game.
There's also Bit.Tube, which is a very professional site for video creators and viewers, offering the Tube token. Source Independent is a blockchain project by master shaman Hamilton Souther, with the aim of helping musicians get reimbursed for their creative efforts.
Will cryptocurrency present a future full of art and creativity? Will artists have the courage to try something different?

Dr. Aiden Gregg - Psychopathy Part 1
Gregg explains his perspective on psychopathy, how it can be like looking into an abyss, how psychopaths may lack something that ordinary humans have, the link to myths like vampires and reptilian aliens, the history of "moral insanity", the vagueness of the term "psychopathy", the distinction between signs and symptoms of a disease, definitions from Hervey Cleckley and Robert D. Hare, Jon Ronson's book on "The Psychopath Test", and psychopaths in society.
Joël Valenzuela - Live Off Cryptocurrency
Joël Valenzuela is known for his work with the Dash Force public outreach program, delivering presentations, planning conferences and other events. Valenzuela writes for Dash Force News and also oversees the content creation and distribution. Joël is also known for being a man who lives solely off cryptocurrency - specifically Dash.
In this interview we discuss Joël's background, growing up in Mexico and living through the peso collapse and revaluation of the early 90s, how that gave him perspective on sound money and helped him to understand Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, the connection with gold and silver, the current state and future of Dash, the technical foundations of the user-friendly Dash Evolution wallet and the challenges with its development, and how commercial and central bankers are reacting to cryptocurrency.

Why Is Dash Pumping? April 2019 - Cryptonomics
Dash has outperformed the cryptocurrency market over the last month, rising from $79 to $120. For people not familiar with Dash, rises in price always seem unusual, but for those who follow it closely they know that good news is always coming out.
After there was a 51% attack on ETC, there was a lot of uncertainty in many smaller crypto projects. Bitcoin and Ethereum are big enough to make such attacks impractical, but for the rest of the market, they may be exposed to this exploit. Dash is working on a solution in the form of Chainlocks, using the Dash masternodes to prevent doublespends, making the system more secure and give faster confirmations.
The Dash Core Group has publically released the code for Evolution, the wallet which Dash supporters hope will make crypto more user friendly, looking more like PayPal or Venmo than Bitcoin, allowing merchants to integrate into the wallet and offer discounts, increasing their conversions.
However, it seems the main reason that Dash has increased in price over the last month is something more related to short-term trading. Binance added two pairs - Dash/BNB and Dash/USDT. That means traders on Binance are now using those pairs to try to gain an advantage and make more money.

US Dollar Will Never Collapse - Cryptonomics
A lot of people have been saying for years that the US dollar is going to collapse, and that will cause another global financial crisis. That's why you should hold onto your crypto for dear life. Is that really the case?
USD is still the official currency of other countries such as Ecuador, East Timor, El Salvador and Zimbabwe. It's used for $100Bs of oil trade every year. Hundreds of millions of people pay their taxes in dollars, and despite the Federal Reserve and US Treasury printing trillions, it's still valuable. The IMF has plans to create a system of e-dollars, and as early as 2008, political figures were discussing a new currency system known as Bretton Woods 2 - so there's always a way out.
Will the dollar collapse? Let's talk about it in this episode of Cryptonomics.

HODL is for chumps - Cryptonomics
In the world of cryptocurrency, a lot of investors know this word: HODL. It started as a typo in a hastily typed post on bitcointalk, in which a fellow was telling everyone NOT to sell their bitcoin but hold on. Later it turned into a backronym, "hold on for dear life".
Now, whenever the market goes down, people bring on the old memes telling people not to panic, not to sell and above all, HODL. I'm here to tell you why that's really stupid.

How To Lose A Million Dollars - Cryptonomics
Many people have lost money in cryptocurrency, either from oversight, malice or just not knowing how to prepare for market madness. One fellow asked me the other day about how to deal with the pain of seeing his portfolio go from millions to... not so much. While I'm yet to make and lose my first million, I do have a few ideas about emotional intelligence.
Here are Kurt's tips for a happy loss, explained in detail in this episode:
1. Count your blessings
2. Find the lessons in the pain
3. Feel deeply
4. Embrace the journey
5. Let go

The Power of Words
Sometimes we use words without thinking too much about their meaning, without putting the intention or the weight behind them which they might deserve. We say "You're welcome" without feeling that someone is welcome, or "good bye" without remembering the original meaning of the phrase - "God be with ye". Similarly, French people say "Adieu" and Spaniards say "Adiós" without thinking of them as blessings.
However, in some parts of the world, people do mean what they say. In Thailand, the common greeting and farewell is "sawatdii", which is actually the Sanskirt word "svasti" meaning "goodness". Every hello is a blessing in Thai, and when you hear Thai people say it, you can feel the goodness.
How can you use your words to bless people, to let them feel welcome in your presence, to increase their comfort? How much of a hello is your "Hello", and can you introduce yourself and reveal a little of your soul? Let's talk about it in this episode of The Paradise Paradox!

Crypto Tips from the Fed with Luis Fernando Mises - Cryptonomics
Luis Fernando Mises is known as the founder of the Emancipated Human website and podcast, as a healer using plant medicine such as huachuma, and as a consultant on servant leadership - helping bosses learn to serve their employees and create a productive workplace. In a recent project management engagement with the Federal Reserve, Luis was surprised to learn that many people there are very interested in digital currency - especially Ripple.
In this episode, Luis explains why he sold his bitcoin and ether, and moved his position mainly into the Ripple token XRP after speaking to some people at the Fed, attempting to put his sails into a head wind and hopefully increase his own financial freedom. Kurt counters by making the case for a small project called Halo Platform.

Good time to buy crypto? With Chris Guida
The cryptocurrency market has been making steady lows since January 2018. After going down for so long, most people have forgotten about their crypto dreams of lambos and how this technology is the future, sold their now piddling stake and even taken down their shingle that said "Crypto Guru".
But some intrepid warriors persist, looking at these low prices not as a market defeated, but as an opportunity. Can someone make money investing in a low market like this? And if so, which projects are worthwhile?

Danger in Acapulco? With Luis F. Mises
A few weeks ago, ex-patriate John Galton was tragically shot dead in Acapulco, and a friend of his was also injured with three bullet wounds. The question of his death is complex, and in many ways it's not ours to discuss.
The other question which it raised for many is, how safe is Acapulco? Every year many libertarians go to Anarchapulco to explore freedom in its many forms. Are they in any danger? And how can they best protect themselves?
In this episode, Kurt interviews Luis Fernando Mises to ask his opinion of Acapulco and Mexico, the four parts of Acapulco. Kurt explains some basic safety precautions that people should be aware of when in Latin America. We also discuss the practice of "shaktipat", when a devotee receives spiritual energy from a yoga guru, why Luis invests in Ripple, our love for Mexican food and the search for the perfect quesadilla.

Legit Uses for Crypto? With Chris Guida
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency still carry a stigma, promoted by Big Media, that their only uses are funding terrorism and buying drugs on the Dark Net. After the last bubble crashed in 2018, many people are even under the impression that the entirety of the technology is a pyramid scheme or otherwise a fraud. In fact, there are many legal uses for crypto, some of which are already current, and many which will be revealed in coming years.
Some examples include: a store of value, monetary sovereignty, tracking a supply chain, online or brick and mortar commerce, sending money to politically unpopular causes such as Wikileaks, proving copyright claims, and the sale of digital assets to represent shares in a company.

State Sponsored Crypto in 2019? With Chris Guida
The Venezuelan government released the Petro in 2019... Sort of. Cryptocompare.com says they have no data about what the current price is, and Coin Market Cap doesn't list it at all. It seems that it was a state-sponsored scam.
A government releasing their own crypto isn't so important to the long-term success of the market. Cryptocurrencies are already finding adoption in one way or another - used in commerce or as fund-raising tools for new companies - in the world's largest nation: the Internet. It doesn't need a formal declaration to have legitimacy. Real-world use is its own statement of legitimacy.

Conscious Communication and Ethical Emergence - Michael Nimetz & ELAmental
Since 2015, hundreds of people have gone to Acapulco every year to celebrate liberty, and discuss how to make the world more free. Some of them decided to never leave, and some decided to keep coming back. In this episode, Kurt is joined by Acapulco expatriate Michael Nimetz, and Anarchapulco performer, MC ELAmental.
If you've ever worked in a large organisation, you probably know that the rule is "The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing." That's why Michael is presenting a workshop on his method of "Ethical Emergence" at Anarchapulco this year 2019 - all about how to improve communication in organisations, fostering relationships between individuals and departments, enabling people to best use their skills and form synergy with others' skills. Nimetz has used this method in the construction industry, improving the efficiency so much that it reduces large projects by many months.
Our other guest, MC ELAmental is performing at Anarchapulco's Turtle party. MC ELAmental makes conscious hip hop, and is an advocate and activist creating eco-friendly products by hand, such as T-shirts with natural dyes using berries and other plants - in harmony with nature and even helping plants to grow.

Should I short bitcoin? With Chris Guida
After a solid year of bitcoin making low after low, you might think that it will continue to make new lows. You might even be so confident as to sell bitcoin short - that is, to borrow bitcoins in order to sell them, and profit when it goes lower. Would that be a smart move in market like this?
Or would the opposite action be correct - has crypto been going down for so long that it's "due" for a turn around? Should you invest in cryptocurrency now, in February 2019?
The other day I spoke with long-term Bitcoin enthusiast and software developer Chris Guida to get his take.

Don't lose money! Cryptonomics
According to Warren Buffett, there are two rules to making money:
1. Don't lose money.
2. Don't forget Rule #1.
Sounds pretty obvious, but the question is how to apply it to build your wealth over time? One vital tool is asset allocation - carefully dividing your portfolio over several markets, and rebalancing when they gain or lose share.

Will Bitcoin be zero in 2020? - Questions for Crypto with Chris Guida
Is bitcoin going to zero in 2020? Probably not.
I sat down with long-term Bitcoin enthusiast and smart guy, Chris Guida, to discuss this question. Chris's response was, the longer something continues, the more likely it is to continue. Bitcoin has been around for ten years, and so it's likely it will be around for ten years more. We also discussed the potential threats to cryptocurrency - some undiscovered bugs, states messing with it, sending NSA spies onto the dev team.

Do you regret buying bitcoin? With Chris Guida - Cryptonomics
The other day I sat down with my friend Chris Guida, long term Bitcoin enthusiast, software developer and all-round nice guy, to discuss some questions about cryptocurrency that people had raised on the Internet.

Firstly, do we regret investing in cryptocurrency? Both of us started buying years ago, so the answer was a clear no. However, there are many people who didn't have the good fortune to buy so early. Chris says it's likely that the crypto market will come around again - just like with a traditional market, there's a boom and bust. It's easy for a lot of folks in the media to say that bitcoin is dead and will never come back - but literally hundreds of pundits have said that before, and it hasn't stopped crypto yet.
We also discussed whether the crypto bubble of 2017 was a pump and dump scheme, a manipulated effort by whales and market makers, pushing money in and loudly and taking it out quietly. Wherever there are markets, it's almost guaranteed that people are trying to work them in their favour, but in this case it's unlikely that there's one grand conspiracy to push up the price. The price, and the bubble, is a result of a lot of individual actors, buying, selling, holding, and saying the truth or saying lies about what they're doing.

Patreon has blocked YouTuber Sargon of Akkad for dropping N bombs, calling it hate speech. Now many customers and creators are leaving Patreon even if they don't like Sargon. Turns out when it comes to people spending their money, they don't like being Patreon-ised.

Magic Mushroom Messages - Interview with 434
Since the dawn of man, and maybe a few hours before, people have been using psychedelic substances to expand their consciousness, give them a greater perspective, and get in touch with something divine. Psilocybe mushrooms, peyote and other substances were seen as holy, a sacrament, a way to connect something deep within us.
These days, many might consider that superstition, but as the public discourse and awareness of psychedelics grow, more people are talking about the sacraments' relationship to spiritual experiences, and even contacting wise and ancient entities, with knowledge to impart and calm guidance. Some call them our ancestors, some call them "self-transforming machine elves".
On this episode, Kurt interviews Peter, known by his YouTube channel 434, about his experiences talking to these spirits or angels during and after his mushroom journeys. Much like the mushrooms themselves, Peter is building a network, branching out to find like-minded individuals. We discussed a lot of subjects - the intelligence of plant and nature, how good and evil are very human concepts, near death experiences, and the origin of species.
Welcome to another life-changing roller-coaster ride on this next episode of ... The Paradise Paradox!

Get Rich, Save Money - Cryptonomics
If you want to invest in crypto or stocks or even your own business, you need to get capital first. I know from experience that saving small amounts of money every week can add up over the years. But you gotta find that money to save, to put that money into a fund to buy your own financial freedom, and it all starts with paying yourself first, being conscious of your money, learning restraint, and being grateful.

I was deported from Mexico
In 2017, Kurt was deported from Mexico for overstaying his tourist card, serving as a warning to all those ex-pats who let their papers lapse.
In the detention centre, he met many fascinating characters, a kind drug-dealing hippie, a Romanian credit card fraudster, many Central Americans and many Indian gentlemen, trying to get to the United States to earn an honest living.
In this episode Kurt is joined by former Paradise Paradoxian, Mr. Aaron Battle, and we discuss being deported, the culture of bribery that exists in most of the world, how Trump's presidency has put pressure on the Mexican government, Mexico's new president, and all kinds of fun stuff.

Financially Free in 4 Years? - Cryptonomics
In December 2018, the crypto market is lower than it's been in 16 months. That will send many running, but for contrarians looking for an opportunity, it looks great.
Of course, to take advantage, you need to be careful with your money. Pay yourself first, tighten your purse strings, and remember your legacy. Then, glory may await you on the other side.
Little mistake... I said $10 in Facebook would have got you millions of dollars at IPO. It would have been around $900,000.

Bitcoin Is Too Hard To Use - UX in Crypto - Cryptonomics
Have you ever had your washing machine lock its door on you, and then give you a really helpful message like "DOOR IS LOCKED"?
People have these experiences all the time. Often they get frustrated. Sometimes they think "Aw geez I'm such a dummie for not knowing how to work this thing." But generally, it's not your fault. It's the fault of the designers for not keeping you in mind when they made the thing.
A lot of newbies have the same experience with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Will NEVER Reach Mass Adoption - Cryptonomics
The Bitcoin team isn't focused on mass adoption, and maybe they never were. They're focused on something else - I don't know exactly what, something technical, some kind of engineering miracle. I know they're not focused on mass adoption, because mass adoption comes with user experience. The way you get people to use your tech is to make it easy to use. You start with your customer in mind.
