The Peaky Podcast Episode 10: Future plans

The Peaky Podcast Episode 10: Future plans

Today's episode is short and sweet. We are discussing future plans, the main one being a new partnership in the form of a syndicate that is going to be run affordably and professionally. We will also be discussing the future of The Peaky Blogger and my decision to come out as a Freelance Racing Journalist. Hope you all enjoy. Please make sure to follow the page on the social media, which can be seen in the profile picture above. Thanks again as usual for listening. ***** NOTICE ***** Its been brought to my attention I made one slight mistake and a slip of the tongue. Instead of Katy having fallen out with Racing Records it was 4Racing. Sorry for any confusion caused.

The Peaky Podcast Episode 10: The Importance Of Speaking Out.

The Peaky Podcast Episode 10: The Importance Of Speaking Out.

This week's episode is slightly different folks. Once I knew I had no guest this week I realised I had a very important opportunity presented to myself. If you are one that is going through a tough time in life or battling some sort of problem, whether it is big or small, whether you are in the industry or not. Do me one favour, PLEASE GIVE THIS A LISTEN. With all that's gone on, between Covid 19 to the passing of Liam Treadwell this is something that needs to be said. Depression and Suicide rates are on the increase over the past couple of years and it is something that needs to be tackled the best it can be. I am not a qualified counselor nor did I ever claim to be. What I am though is a good, honest, trustworthy person who will help people as best I can. This is an episode reflecting the problems in everyday life and even though someone as jolly and outgoing in life as myself, can in fact be battling with demons of their own. I am not now, but I certainly was. And only for me talking I wouldn't know how to battle and overcome these demons. This may be the kick up the ass you need to do the exact same. My facebook is The Peaky Blogger-Horse Racing Blogger and my Twitter is @Peakyhorse should you need someone to talk to and point you in the right direction. Thank you for listening.

The Peaky Podcast: Episode 9, an Interview with Jordan Canavan, Irish 7lb claimer.

The Peaky Podcast: Episode 9, an Interview with Jordan Canavan, Irish 7lb claimer.

This weeks special guest is Jordan Canavan, 7lb National Hunt claimer. He has recently came in contact with the page looking for help getting a sponsorship. Without a sponsor more than likely Jordan would have to pack in the dream of becoming one of Irelands best NH jockeys of this era or have to pack the bags and move to France, England or Australia where the chance of success is not necessarily greater. This is what The Peaky Blogger is all about. Not only am I trying tirelessly to make a name for myself in the journalism side of things but also I am here to help out the heroes behind the sport no matter how well known or anonymous they are to the outside world. What I'm asking you all to do is SHARE SHARE SHARE! Get this guys name out there, get him the sponsorship he deserves and most importantly keep these young lads in Ireland. We are the best in the world at this game statistically from everything from breeding, training, riding and everything in between. We do not need immigration in this industry in this sector. It should be in fact the other way around. Without these young lads and ladies staying here in Ireland the pride of Irish Racing would indeed be sadly no more. All it takes is a share by taking a second out of you're days. It may be that second that decides if a young man like Jordan stays on Irish soil or have to make a name for himself further afield. The Peaky Podcast - Episode 5: An interview with Darragh O Keeffe.

The Peaky Podcast - Episode 5: An interview with Darragh O Keeffe.

This weeks episode of The Peaky Podcast is a very special episode indeed. Many of you who follow the racing will have heard the name Darragh O Keeffe mentioned sometime over the past couple of years. At just 20 years of age, Darragh has gone from being you're everyday young lad relatively unknown to anyone outside of the racing world to being JP McManus's second choice jockey with all due respect behind Mark Walsh, had the season of his life last year getting to 4th in the National Jockeys leaderboard last year with only the likes of Paul Townend, Davy Russell and Rachael Blackmore ahead of him. For a 19 year old in any profession to be one of the best in the game on a national level is remarkable. A young man that gives off the impression of a quiet, conservative character when out of the saddle when he has a horse under him he has confidence in spades and rides with patience, guile and bravery. It was an absolute pleasure to have someone as well regarded as Darragh on the show considering I have only been doing the media side of things for 3 months while I am only recording, producing and publishing podcasts for just over a month. I hope you all enjoy the episode as much as I had recording it.

I want to give my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Liam Treadwell who sadly lost his battle with depression earlier this week. I am putting myself forward to be there for people who need someone to talk to. I am not qualified but I have experience of dark patches in lifes journey and will be happy to help others who seek the help that is out there but dont know where to look for it or who to put their trust in. The service will be completely confidential and stay between us. You can contact me through the social media below.

If nothing else comes of this I would take huge joy and satisfaction in helping someone in times they need it most and hopefully getting them to see the light at the end of the tunnel instead of sadly losing another life. Thanks again. If you could be so kind to keep sharing the podcast and subscribing on you're preferred platform. It is the one thing that helps me out most.

The Peaky Podcast episode 4: An interview with James Fenton through the eyes of an owner.

The Peaky Podcast episode 4: An interview with James Fenton through the eyes of an owner.

This weeks episode with Racing Club Manager James Fenton who has 3 racing clubs with the National Hunt King, Willie Mullins. These are Blue Bloods, Closutton Racing and Lyons Mouth Racing Clubs. We talk about how he went from having 2 racing mares in training in 2015 to expanding massively and having €250,000 + in prize money with horses under his clubs. Together with himself and his team they are quickly taking over the National Hunt sector in Ireland and are quickly becoming one of the better known colours in racing. If you're listening in and want to get involved you can do so by looking up www.closuttonracing.com. It was a pleasure to talk with James as the passion he has is second to none and is a person who doesnt half get the credit he deserves. There are some very interesting points here in terms of Racehorse Ownership,Breeding and even a couple of horses to look out for over this coming season. If you liked the episode please like share and subscribe to the channel on whatever platform you listen on. It only takes a second and helps me out in terms of getting noticed in the Racing Media game. The podcast is growing rapidly down to you're support but theres no point in stopping now. I have the number one spot for Racing Media and Podcasts in my sights and I will not stop producing better content every week for you all to enjoy. If you want to follow my social media you can do so on Facebook by following The Peaky Blogger and my Twitter is @Peakyhorse. Thanks again folks, I will be back again next week with another special guest.

The Peaky Podcast - Episode 1: Introduction.

The Peaky Podcast - Episode 1: Introduction.

This episode itself could be described as an introduction as such. It is basically just an introduction to the person behind The Peaky Blogger, Shane Rooney, as well as different aspects I will be talking about and plans going forward. I would like to point out I am not qualified in journalism and the work I do is completely voluntary at this moment of time. I would also like to announce that any views that were expressed were strictly my own and it is certainly not meant to be seen as me taking personal swipes at anyone mentioned in this podcasts. The "controversial" topic as such was instead aimed to cause healthy debate among racing fans, enthusiasts and even workers. This is my first ever time producing and editing a podcast, and the nerves of speaking to a larger audience in terms of a podcast more than likely showed in this episode. Nevertheless that hurdle is now crossed and it can and will only get better the more episodes I do. Thank you for listening in, if you want to follow my blog my social media is Facebook: The Peaky Blogger-Horse Racing Blogger. My Twitter account: @Peakyhorse. Feel free to message me anytime and thanks again for tuning in.
