THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF COLORED MEN OF THE UNITED STATES, May 6-9, 1879

Author and Playwright, Jamima B. Jones narrates excerpts of the minutes of the National Conference of Colored Men of the United States which was held May 6-9, 1879 .  Those minutes were recorded and published daily in the American Newspaper, and are currently held at the Library of Congress.  Prior to this conference, Congress had asked to appropriate 259 years for the assistance of those (Negroes) needing aid to emigrate to Kansas.  If adopted, this appropriation would have lasted until the year of 2138.
