DevTestOps Manifesto - Accelerate Testing The Agile Way | W. Siddhant | Introduction to DevTestOps

DevTestOps Manifesto - Accelerate Testing The Agile Way | W. Siddhant | Introduction to DevTestOps

Session Title -

DevTestOps Manifesto -  Accelerate Testing The Agile Way By W. Siddhant  Role of QA in DevOps

Huge shoutout to Browserstack, our Exclusive sponsor for all community events and Premier sponsor for Conferences.

We thank them for supporting this Event.

Key Takeaways:

- DevTestOps is built upon continuous integration, delivery, testing, and feedback

- Just because you can Test and Automate everything doesn’t imply that you should be doing so

- Test in tandem with the team rather than testing in siloes

- Embrace all testing activities over only automated functional testing

About The Session -

Setting up a Test Center of Excellence(TCoE) within any organization has always seen certain challenges, either from an implementation or a business standpoint. Moreover, testing processes haven’t been able to keep pace with the rapid advances in Software Development. Hence, the need arose to promote and expand the role of Test Automation in the Test CoE.

Application teams need to made accountable for code development, testing as well as deployment, which would make decentralized testing a success. Additionally, defining appropriate coding standards and best practices, mentoring teams, and identifying the right set of tools & resources would help in timely delivery of top-quality software. Thus, the first immediate step would be to establish a scalable test automation framework, that would help integrate & support all forms of testing.

DevTestOps is a combination of DevOps and Continuous Testing. It ensures that not only does the product being developed is delivered at the expected time-to-market with a good UX, but also that it has optimal test coverage.

Most importantly, in order to kickstart DevTestOps - everyone must be aligned and have a complete understanding that testing needs to be performed throughout the entire workflow.

So, as part of this session, you would learn more about the role of DevTestOps and how to approach testing software with an Agile mindset!

Containerize Your Tests And Parallelize Executions - M. Soumya | Containerization Using Docker

Topic - Containerize Your Tests And Parallelize Executions - Soumya Mukherjee | TTTribeCast | Containerization Using Docker

Key Takeaways:

- Concepts of containerization

- Containerize your API and UI tests with Docker ?

- Create your own parallel Jenkins pipeline and execute the containers

Huge shoutout to Browserstack, our Exclusive sponsor for all community events and Premier sponsor for Conferences.

We thank them for supporting this Event.

About the Session -

Containerize your Tests and Parallelize executions

Most of the testing teams till today uses VMs for executions of their tests. This adds to the overhead of ongoing infrastructure and in most conditions infra not getting approved. The teams then either reduced scope of their run or run their tests sequentially concerning the overall coverage or the large execution times of the pack. To solve these issues test engineering teams, containerize their tests and run them in parallel to efficiently use the same infra. We will solve the first set of problems here to containerize the tests.

Continuous testing strategy for CFRs

In this talk, the, author of O'Reilly's Full Stack Testing book would like to elaborate on why it is essential to do continuous testing for cross-functional requirements and introduce a holistic approach to continuous testing of all the cross-functional requirements (the approach is carved as part of my book). She will cover how different testing techniques such as static code analysis, architecture tests, visual tests, infrastructure tests, load tests, etc., catering to automating a variety of CFRs, including those really vague ones, and therefore, aid in continuous testing and building quality into the software.
