Dr Gerry Bowler is a historian and author who is best known for his works on Christmas, such as The World Encyclopedia of Christmas, Santa Claus: A Biography, The World’s Greatest Christmas Stories and Christmas in the Crosshairs. He has a Ph.D. in History from King’s College London. While continuing to teach Medieval and Early-Modern European history at the university level, he switched his area of research to the intersection of religion and popular culture, publishing works on The Simpsons, the relationship between Aristotle and professional wrestling, Wayne Gretzky, and Bloody Mary, but eventually focusing his main efforts on the history of Christmas. Dr John Reese is a Teaching Professor and Lead Instructor of History at Pensacola Christian College, where he seeks to bring history to life on stage, teaching about important historical events in an engaging and dramatic way. In this episode, John and I discuss the danger and impacts of historical revisionism, a process where the past is revised to better suit modern social views and political agendas. Douglas Moo is Chair of the Committee on Bible Translation, who are responsible for translating and revising the NIV translation. He is a New Testament scholar who taught more than twenty years at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and served as Blanchard Professor of New Testament at the Wheaton College from 2000 to 2023. In this episode, Doug discusses different approaches to Bible translations, the philosophy of the NIV translation committee, and whether Bible translations really matter.

Amanda Iglesias is an architect in New York City, who holds a BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College, a Master of Architecture from Yale University, and a Master of Philosophy in Architecture and Urban Studies from the University of Cambridge. Her writing on churches has been published in Christianity Today, the New York Review of Architecture, and Architecture Today, and she is the curator of "The Architecture of Prayer," an international survey of the contemporary church and its architecture. In this episode, we discuss the evolution of church architecture from early christianity to modern times, how architects use architecture to both convey spiritual truths and fulfill the practical needs of the congregation, and what the future of church architecture looks like. Richard Gallagher, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist, is a professor of psychiatry at New York Medical and a psychoanalyst on the faculty of Columbia University. He graduated from Princeton University and trained as a resident in psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. The world’s foremost scientific expert on the subject of diabolic attacks, he has been an active member of the International Association of Exorcists since the 1990s. In this episode, we discuss Dr Richard Gallagher’s journey into psychiatry and his introduction to an exorcist called Fr. Jacques, the differences between mental illnesses and demonic attacks such as possession and oppression, and his stories of encounters with possessed patients such as Julia, the Satanic Queen.
