Psychic Smudge - Ashes 3rd Test

Psychic Smudge - Ashes 3rd Test

🪵 TIMBER!!! Wood enters the fray to bowl absolute heat and help change the direction at another box office encounter. We've crossed the halfway mark of the Asheses and just look at how much can things change from one week to the next with England striking back with the red and the white balls. Ollie - fresh from Luke Fletcher's testimonial dinner - Sach and Bertie examine the difference makers for the men as well as how the women have reeled in some way a once unstoppable juggernaut. The final few rounds should be a doozy.

We also hear the top fan rattling moments of the week and listener Johnny has shared a disturbing video that reveals the true depths of badgery required to become the world's best batter.

John Wick's Dog - Ashes 2nd Test

John Wick's Dog - Ashes 2nd Test

🚶 Surely we can't keep up with this record of constant corkers as the boys convene to decipher what the hell went down last Wednesday to Sunday inclusive. Stokes pulls on his big boy pants once again amidst a testy and tempestuous Lord's atmosphere as Australia dared to poke the bear.

The Aussies held their nerve to put themselves into a commanding position in the series but tested the pearl clutching [justified?] of England fans to new heights in the process. Is this turning into bumper series of tales, twists, turns and a high xNarrative, boy it is in absolute dump truck fulls.

Proverbs and Protests - The Women's Ashes Test

Proverbs and Protests - The Women's Ashes Test

🛢 We hope you tackle your weekend with all the intensity of a protester-carrying YJB, but in the meantime, relax, switch off and engage in half an hour of relatively irreverent cric and other bits.

The Women's Ashes got underway with a game that went to the wire - well if the wire means two sessions before the end - and we're here to have a dig. Elsewhere, Max dives into the kit cupboard, Ollie brings the analysis and there's a recording of Zak Crawley that, to be honest, should never have got past the editorial quality control checks. But you're gonna hear it anyway.

DISCLAIMER: This was recorded mid-Lord's Test, so any references to and moods around that game may well become out of date quicker than a chicken breast in the sun.

The Belter at Edgbaston - Ashes 1st Test

The Belter at Edgbaston - Ashes 1st Test

😲 The Wrong 'Un returns for a bumper summer and boy have we been treated to an epic opening salvo. Australia squeeze through with two wickets to spare on a phenomenal final day as Captain Cummins and Lyon show their mettle to bring them home. Declarations, intent, flat pitches, Khawaja, keepers and send offs - so many threads to unpick as Bazball gets the sternest test of its principles and decisions yet. This series has promised so much, and if the first blows are anything to go by it certainly looks like it'll deliver. Max is sad, Bertie's here for the ride, Sach promises to be analytical over gloating and Ollie's watching Notts.

Queer Eye for the Test Match Guy - England, NZ, India & Morgan's Farewell

Queer Eye for the Test Match Guy - England, NZ, India & Morgan's Farewell

🧹 An England clean sweep against the World Test Champions? Don't mind if I do. It may or may not have been a flash in the pan but at least it flashed bright and true as BMac appears to have Queer Eyed a previously sad, poorly dressed and unkempt England side low on confidence. All it needed was a kiwi to show them what's best about themselves.

So there's a lot to review there but Max, Sach and Bertie also have much to get into as India return with the literal unfinished business of their 2021 Test series whilst white ball king Eoin Morgan retires from his role of chief strategy merchant for England's big bashers. Elsewhere Sach can't answer a question he was primed for and Max goes into his cupboard to root around for all the latest fits.

Dutch Courage and England v New Zealand Test Series

Dutch Courage and England v New Zealand Test Series

🇳🇱 Canals, 25 degrees, the prospect of a slightly funky night out, there's a new contender for cricket's greatest away day in Amsterdam. England return to ODI cricket for the first time in almost a year bombing into a swimming pool of Dutch amateurs as Buttler and co. flayed their way to a new World Record total against an understrength Netherlands side.

Elsewhere we offer a belated assessment of England's unassailable 2-0 lead in their opening Tests of the Summer against the Kiwis. Is this a blip? Have the jigsaw pieces just fortunately fallen into place? Are England flattering to deceive? Or can we not just bask in a Formula 1 no holds barred England Test team? Who knows, but Bertie and Ollie try to unpick it all and also offer up some chat on the steaming hot ball of messy fun which is the Blast.

BONUS - A Day At The Oval, Surrey vs Somerset

BONUS - A Day At The Oval, Surrey vs Somerset

🥓 The usual show is replace due to much needed holidays as Max is off travelling to Wrexham from London (yes why indeed?). BUT we couldn't leave your Tuesday feeds uncricketed and in one of the great last minute decisions Max Parry MP & Bertie headed to the Oval to soak in some County Championship. One of the *all time great days* as the two of them joined some radio friends and made their way through just the right and appropriate amount of cans and a metric tonne of food in 20 degree sunshine. Simply unbeatable. Intermittent voice memos followed and treat yourself to bitesize a slice of the Great British summer from the Oval. There is little of actual substance covered.

"I can't influence this decision so I don't care" - England captain & Women's Hundred

"I can't influence this decision so I don't care" - England captain & Women's Hundred

A big week of moving and shaking within the England men's setup. Out goes Joe Root as captain and in comes big daddy Rob Key in his top down Porsche and real ale in hand as the side's new director of cricket. What that means and what he'll be able to do is open to interpretation. Ollie has decided that since he can do nothing about who will be England's new skipper he doesn't care about it, an opinion he hasn't held regarding all of his other cricket analysis. Max Parry also opens up his wardrobe to assess the new season's IPL clobber and Bertie tries his best to keep everything on a fairly even keel. Elsewhere Ollie digs into the Women's Hundred squads and Max has a Parky Pivot.

Cummo Kerblammo - IPL Week 2 & County Champ Round 1

🏃 Astonishingly we're back with regularity on your Tuesday podcast feeds and the cricket is serving up some lovely entertaining pies for us to dance down the track to. The IPL churns out top class matches like a mid-afternoon entertainment machine whilst the County Championship offers us up early season run fests / bore draws.

Bertie and Ollie in the seat this week so if you prefer Max and Sach this isn't your week. Bonus episode to come on the Men's Hundred Draft later in the week so keep your eyes peeled.

IPL Tees Off & The English Summer Begins

IPL Tees Off & The English Summer Begins

🍕 The English cricket season returns after a winter which has been no means devoid of cricket. So we dust off our mics to return every week with cricket takes galore from Manchester, Nottingham and cricket hub Switzerland. The IPL is underway so Sach takes a cursory look under the bonnet at some changes for this edition, whilst Ollie casts his eye across a red ball season which could hold real significance for potential England recruits. We also take some time to chat personnel for England after their latest series defeat and reflect upon the passing of the great Shane Warne.

*We think Bertie forgot to select his quality mic for this one when recording so apologise if his Boltonian tones are less crisp than usual.

The Collapse-along Live - 5th Ashes Test

The Collapse-along Live - 5th Ashes Test

🇦🇺4️⃣-0️⃣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England have engaged in their final and perhaps biggest collapse yet. Halfway through the 3rd day in Hobart things were looking rosy for England. 68-0 in a chase of 271. Two wickets fell and then in the 74 minutes of actual play after tea the remaining 8 crumbled in a manner so swift that in many ways it was the crowning and most emblematic glory of a miserable series for the Poms.

So welcome to the Collapse-along (TM) where in real time we go through England's collapse as it happened. Along with our as-live English crumble there's so much to get into: The Ashes as a whole, Australia's imperious performance, South Africa's impressive victory of India and Lord Virat stepping aside as Test captain. Enjoy!

Ashes 4th Test - The Biggest of Ws

Ashes 4th Test - The Biggest of Ws

🇦🇺3️⃣-0️⃣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Pride is restored. The St George's Cross is no longer at half mast. The tide has changed. England have drawn a Test by the skin of their Jimmy Anderson having to face 6 consecutive Steve Smith rippers. 3-0 down with 1 to play but there are genuine positives for England to take away from Sydney. Yes they only took 14 wickets and nearly lost by 100 runs but there were hints of grit on display in a series of Ashes displays which have been distinctly lacking in that. Bertie and Ollie are here to mull things over, examine Zak Crawley & YJB's encouraging knocks, give some praise to Khawaja and shoot the S.

Ashes 3rd Test - "The 90s are hot right now"

Ashes 3rd Test - "The 90s are hot right now"

🤦‍♀️Ollie, Max and Bertie convene for a sigh heavy half hour of catharsis as England are once again comprehensively rolled like dough balls at Pizza Express. After 12 days of play the Ashes are already remaining in Australia. Well that's statistically speaking, we've known the end result for a while now.

We talk everything from how bad England are to where the problems may lie, covering it all from planning, coaching, focus on the red ball game, Covid, Australian quicks being guns and the 90s coming back into fashion. There's not a hint of focus or real analytical verve to be honest. After recording we realised that not only are England's woes a difficult question to answer but in many ways we hadn't got close to actually understanding them. So kick back, relax and let us reflect your own stages of grief as we sit there rambley and baffled.

T20 World Cup - Indian Wobbles

T20 World Cup - Indian Wobbles

🍦 For the first time during the T20 World Cup we convene - without notes or preparation - to chat India and England's varying fortunes so far in the tournament. Don't expect much from this episode and try your best to enjoy it. Sach brings the India, and Bertie and Ollie the England.

Straight off the back of India's walloping of Afghanistan there is still everything to play for and a few more games to play it in as the Super 12 reaches its climax. India have not been at their best with defeats to arch rivals Pakistan and regular big game irritants New Zealand. Sach has a look at what's gone wrong, whilst in a more jovial mood Bertie and Ollie bask in what will undoubtedly be very short-lived English optimism.

Moeemories & County Championship Conclusion

Moeemories & County Championship Conclusion

🧔🏽 Moeen our swashbuckling prince, you leave Test cricket behind but with us you have deposited a lifetime of excitable moments into our memory banks. Off he rides into a T20 spin-hitting sunset for the rest of his career. Without Sach & Max, Bertie and Ollie indulge on some reflections Moeen Lane and also examine the close of the County Championship for 2021 as Warwickshire ride out as the victors. They also cover the ECB's withdrawal from the tour to Pakistan.

Big apologies for Godden sounding like Darth Vader. Despite Bertie's professional grade voice quality, Ollie didn't have a mic available. But we move.

England vs India 2nd Test - Tears of a Scouser

England vs India 2nd Test - Tears of a Scouser

🥲A final day for the ages at Lord's gives India a 1-0 lead in a series which is promising even more. And more than any other victory this really got Sach's tear ducts going as the Indian tail offer rearguard action, England are rattled and Siraj et al. roll through their top order. Meanwhile Joe Root's back is creaking as he carries his side and Virat Kohli gets more pumped than ever.

It Begins - The Hundred... with Ben Jones

It Begins - The Hundred... with Ben Jones

💯 After much anticipation, backlash, columns in the broadsheets, intrigue and social media discourse, The Wrong 'Un returns, sorry The Hundred has arrived. And boy were we treated to an opening match as the women's competition got underway with a scorching run chase from Oval Invincibles to haul down Manchester Originals. Far more of a bang than a whimper first out with Dane Van Niekerk the hero with notable heroics also from Kate Cross, Marizanne Kapp and some silky strokes over cover from Harmanpreet Kaur. All in front of a couple of million viewers at home, unprecedented scenes for a domestic women's match in England and Wales.

Joining Bertie, Ollie and Sach is CricViz's Ben Jones who's high on a cocktail of CricViz metric graphics, match ups and one and a half Heinekens. We take in the first match, adjust to the differences and whether in fact it all 'worked'. Only time will tell, but for the whole tournament make sure you join us on the journey!

Ethan Bamber, TWU Talks

Following a breakout year in 2018, Ethan Bamber has become one of the brightest young stars in English cricket. At just 22-year-old, he already has 54 first class wickets at the time of recording, and was England's top wicket taker in the U19 World Cup in New Zealand three years ago. Ethan graduated from Exeter with a degree in theology, and in this episode opens up how his university experience gave him a vital grounding. He also discusses setting standards for himself, reviews his start to the season for Middlesex and shares what it is like to rub shoulders with International talent.

IPL Ignition, Kit Connoisseurs & County Commencement

IPL Ignition, Kit Connoisseurs & County Commencement

💥BOOM. After a nice couple of weeks break from El Cric we're back plunging head/feet first into the crickety pool for the start of the IPL and the County Championship. What a week! Sixes, strategic timeouts, snow, draws, there's loads to talk about. Mumbai Indians get underway against RCB, whilst CSK took on the DCs. We run the rule over the first weekend of the VIVO IPL 2021 and Bertie gives a brief rundown for the uninitiated. Elsewhere the kit connoisseur, Max Parry, gives his brutal perspective on the franchises' shirt offerings.

Elsewhere, Ollie goes over the first round of the County Championship and we ask why on earth the IPL would want to play games in London?!

We've got an email now! wronguncricket@gmail.com for all your correspondence. We read it all, so fire it our way.

India vs England Bilateral T20 International Series Fun Fun

India vs England Bilateral T20 International Series Fun Fun

🇮🇳3️⃣- 2️⃣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 After a month of constant, neverending two day cricket we're back to the 1 day format and boy was it a big series. We had England executing pitch perfect powerplays, India clawing themselves to series victory from 2-1 down and lots of England mid-innings stumbles. The biggest T20 series for both sides before the World Cup provided several answers but also a few remaining Qs as players looked to nail their colours to the mast.

So there was loads for Ollie, Sach & Bertie to get stuck into. If you were hoping for Max, well he's not here as he was nursing a particularly heavy Saturday night hangover. But fear not, Bertie leads the audience engagement this time out with all of your current feelings for cricket.

India vs England, Test Series Review... with Nick Friend

India vs England, Test Series Review... with Nick Friend

🇮🇳3️⃣- 1️⃣ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 After one month and 14 TWU episodes, one magnificent Joe Root double century, uncountable England ducks and a tanker full of wickets for Axar Patel and Ashwin, Virat Kohli's men walk away with a 3-1 victory. The first Test was but an anomaly in the grand scheme of Indian dominance on some spin heavy tracks.

Show pal and writer at The Cricketer magazine, Nick Friend, joins Sach, Ollie and Bertie to poke some fingers into what went right and what went wrong for the tourists. Spoiler: A lot went wrong. Batting problems, summer expectations, it's all in there. We briefly touch on India but as Sach has excavated an extortionate amount of analysis on India's big boys the past few weeks then check out some of our earlier series episode if that's more what you're looking for.

Anyway, enough of this red ball rubbish, we power onto the T20s next and a whole lot more fun.

India vs England, Day 2, 4th Test - Pants Down for England

👖⬇️ Ollie steers the ship today and is joined by Sach, Max and a sprinkling of Bertie to sing sweet Rishabh Pant praises following his third Test ton and whisper sweet nothings about Washington Sundar who rescued an Indian collapse. The boys lament a tireless effort from the England bowling attack, but ask questions about the spin department, and Sach spills the Chai on whether we will see another like Pujara for India.

Action packed as always, thanks for listening once again!

India vs England, Day 1, 4th Test - Back to Normality

India vs England, Day 1, 4th Test - Back to Normality

😌 Sach has finally mellowed after unleashing his wrath on the salty England fans of Twitter. But he is now bored by conventional Test cricket - 'Bring back the Tina Turners' he cries. Bertie is here to join him and unpick the day's action, with plenty to cover: unorthodox selections, predictably disappointing batting, and plenty of ghosts.

Virat is still spiky, Axar Patel and Siraj both look good again and coming towards the end of the series we're beginning to see some consistencies with England's below par batting. India look to be heading for a series victory, but as they say, it's not over until the England batsman gets done by the straight one... for the 30th and final time.

Pink Ball Post Mortem & Sad England Fans... with Ben Jones

Pink Ball Post Mortem & Sad England Fans... with Ben Jones

🌪️Several days have passed and the storm has calmed after hurricane 3rd Test romped its way through Ahmedabad leaving ducks, dust and a 10 wicket defeat for England in its wake. Only Axar Patel, Rohit and a hyped up Kohli remain untouched. India are on the path to a 3-1 dub.

We welcome CricViz Analyst and Professional xW-er Ben Jones into our warm TWU embrace to conduct the post-mortem on what the hell was going on. Amateur analysts Ollie & Sach, ship steerer Bertie and a very hungover Max Parry complete the lineup.

Meanwhile Sach is riled by his oldest of foes - online England fans 😡. Will he let it slide. Not a chance. Buckle in for what he tells me is "A thorough lesson in hypocrisy and learning to take defeat on the chin". Remember those words England fans, he's coming for you.

We also greet our worst correspondence topic ever and discuss Adam Lallana.

India vs England, Day 1, 3rd Test - Modi's Hubris Bowl

🏟️ A downbeat mood in TWU HQ today as a 100% English contingent gets sad about England's chances disappearing before a session is out - again. 3rd Test. Day 1 is strongly India's. England skittled for 112 as Kohli and el boyos press fast forward on the "Get England out cheaply" remote. Good showing for Crawley though, if that's any small comfort. Elsewhere Bertie and Ollie speculate whether someone on the Gujarat cricket board is eyeing a promotion after the vast ground in Ahmedabad is named after a certain current Prime Minister of India.

🏖️3️⃣  Having heard that nobody can bat on the pitch for 2 days up steps R. Ashwin to play England off the park. Throw in some rogue sixes from the No. 11 and England are left with more than a mountain to climb in the 4th innings. The game is India's so expect a buoyant Sach who's been having heaps of fun on his own with the 4am get ups, whilst the English podcast contingent choose a normal sleeping pattern over watching England get steamrolled.

But it's not all bad news for England. Alongside Ashwin chat there's more than a side portion of gazing longingly at the handsome face and gorgeous takes of Ben Foakes. And, as Bertie wants to stress, it's been a glorious match to watch over your Weetabix in the morning.

India vs England, Day 2, 2nd Test - "England Fans are the Simone Biles of Mental Gymnastics"

India vs England, Day 2, 2nd Test - "England Fans are the Simone Biles of Mental Gymnastics"

🔥2️⃣ The following episode contains a lot of anger about 'English ignorance' which we struggled to contain both in the recording and edit. You have been warned.

Day 2 and India are winning this. They coped better with the spin and executed said spin more effectively. England see a classic English collapse and *click* we're back in the land of normal. Gone are the recent days of England dominating in India, we welcome once again our Indian overlords.

So there's lots to get into after 15 wickets fell on Day 2 for Bertie, Ollie and Sach, including England's efforts with the bat and once again our old friend 'the pitch'. After considered calm analysis yesterday, Sach is about the blow his top as 36 hours of English moans have brought him to boiling point. Strap yourselves in. Don't tell us we didn't warn you.

India vs England, Day 1, 2nd Test - 3rd Rate Umpires

India vs England, Day 1, 2nd Test - 3rd Rate Umpires

🦡1️⃣ A compelling 2nd day in the 2nd Test at Chennai. Chalk and cheese compared to the 1st Test. Same ground, remarkably different pitch as spin takes hold from the first over. India bat, Rohit makes big runs at a fair clip, but England take wickets so it could be honours even. We won't know until England put in their own shift with the bat.

It's one for the badgers today as Nerds in Chief Sach and Matt are guiding the ship with relative cricketing idiot Bertie. The pitch goes under the knife in our first edition of The Surgery. Tune in every day for brand new episodes!

India vs England, 1st Test Review - The Leathery Lancastrian

India vs England, 1st Test Review - The Leathery Lancastrian

🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿5️⃣ India lose a Test at home, as England romp to victory in the first test. We're here for it all in our final daily show of the Test match. An ageless Jimmy Anderson produces some of the finest goods of his triumphant career whilst Jack Leach spins into the dust to drive England to a winning margin of 227. Declaration shmeclaration. That's all in the past isn't it, as Kohli's boys might have to do some soul searching before the 2nd Test on Saturday.

The whole gang is on today, and it's three-quarters happy, one quarter "This is the worst day of my life" vibes from the respective English and Indian members. And it's not all in depth analysis, there's also fun. And when we say 'fun' we're the only cricket podcast to have extensive Kylie chat. Max also gets trumped by evidence of Ishant Sharma's voice and his own tone is dragged by a perceptive listener.

We've been very grateful for all your reviews recently so if you haven't, then leave us one, and even better hammer your finger on that subscribe button. Peace and love, see you Saturday!

India vs England, Day 4, 1st Test - The Chase Is On

India vs England, Day 4, 1st Test - The Chase Is On

🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿4️⃣ Today declarations on the mind of every Englishman stuck in a 4AM cricket bubble at the moment as India are set north of 400 to chase down on what was a fascinating day of Test cricket in Chennai. Washington puts up some resistance, Leach bowls a peach and England put enough runs on the board to tee themselves up for a final push through the Indian order.

Sach, Max and Bertie on today on what proved to be the busiest day so far, as 15 wickets fell and the pitch gradually begins to misbehave. Will India pull off another heroic chase? Will England grab a famous win? And do you have any dirt on Joe Root? Hoep you enjoy!

India vs England, Day 3, 1st Test - Pant v Leach Round 1

India vs England, Day 3, 1st Test - Pant v Leach Round 1

🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿3️⃣ The 1st Test in Chennai is hotting up as England turn the screw on India with the ball. Dom Bess has a day to remember, pilfering the big middle order guns of Kohli, Rahane, Pujara & Pant as India finish 6 down and with much work to do on the 4th day. The cricket content drive continues for team TWU with Bertie and Ollie are here to examine England's rather good performance on a pitch which is by no means ragging square as yet and assess some phenomenal hitting from young Rishabh. Pant v Leach round 1 has been decisive but will it continue that way. Catch the show while its still hot.

India vs England, Day 2, 1st Test - "India loves Nick Knight"

India vs England, Day 2, 1st Test - "India loves Nick Knight"

🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿2️⃣ 1st Test. Day 2. India come back with a vengeance. Well not really. It was England who returned with yet more impressive batting, and Ollie, Max, Sach and Bertie give you the rundown of everything the day had to offer.

We're here for the second course in a potential 20 course meal of daily podcasts. So if we were in a posh tasting menu we're still in the canapes. Much like this Test match as everything is about to get interesting. England post 555-8 at the close of play and soon it will be the job of Virat Kohli's men to try and match it on a pitch resembling the main road from Chennai to Bengaluru. Then we can all celebrate a draw.

But as Sach will explain in Spillling the Chai, that pitch may evolve. Elsewhere there's Nick Knight love and hate and Ben Stokes offers some ante-upping with the bat. 🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Here we go sports fans. India vs. England. Right in our Anglo-Indian wheelhouse. 4 Test matches. Daily podcasts for every single one of them. Oooo yeah.

And we kick off with a big day for England. Toss? Won. Runs for fun. Rooty's ton. Work not yet done. Sibley and England's centurion centurion bat nearly the whole day as Kohli's men batten down the hatches on the flattest of wickets in Chennai. We dive into it all, Max Parry brings new feature Test Max Special, whilst Bertie and Ollie figure out how on earth 4 AM wake ups can be sustainable.

#25 India-England Preview & Tag Team Wrestlers

#25 India-England Preview & Tag Team Wrestlers

India vs. England lies glistening on the horizon as England have gone through their paces with a competent showing in Galle led by an irrepressible Joe Root. A substitution comes in today as level-headed India expert Sach is replaced by Max, leading to far more chaos, and honestly the most variable quality of content we've ever produced. The fine line between complete guff and bold thinking is frequently leapt over further than Jonathan Edwards in his pomp.

With Sach out, and an India heavy tilt the past few weeks, the focus today is very much on England. Spinners, potential top order fragility and the unageing Broad and Anderson. Also, whilst we're on great pairs, who would make the best cricketing tag team wrestling duo?

#24 - Magnificent India beat Paineful Australia

💥Wow, wow, wow. A whole *checks watch* 8 days after it came to its thrilling conclusion we are finally here to run through India's stunning victory over Australia with the finest of tooth combs. Gill, Pant, Pujara, Thakur, Washington, Siraj. Heroes every last one of them as India power through at the Gabba with even more aplomb than Britain's rapid vaccine rollout. Shouts to both the civil service and Aussie comms somehow still demanding that Cheteshwar play with more 'intent' for spurring on both those results.

Sach has finally calmed down and there's almost *too* much narrative to tuck into. Captaincy questions everywhere, sheer Indian depth, Gabba defeat and captain questions for both sides. Ollie, Sach, Cracknell and Bertie with you this week for a full hour of India-Australia chat. If we say 'India' enough in the description hopefully it will boost us up the Google India search engine rankings and open up 1.3 billion ears to the show. The world is a cricket stage and the main act is India vs. England for the next six months so join us for this veritable feast by subscribing.

#23 - Perfect Pant, England Preview & Newmero Uno Zealand

🇦🇺🇮🇳 The boys are back in town for 2021, and as you can tell by his absence and Christmas day commentary, Max had a big holiday period by the sounds. So it's Messrs Aggarwal, Godden and Moores bowling full into the New Year. And what better way to begin it than by diving into all things India vs Australia with our take on  Rishabh ' The Best Since Dhoni' Pant, Cheteshwar 'Mourinho' Pujara, the tourists’ injury trouble and Tim Paine’s filthy mouth.

Across the Indian Ocean, there is the small matter of an England two Test tour of Sri Lanka to preview, as the visitors look to return victorious despite spin foibles, and we finish off with an ode to cricket’s new, and rightly recognised, heroes: New Zealand.

#22 SA-ENG T20I: Dazzling Dawe, Quinton's PS3 & Recedie vd Dussen

🇿🇦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿What a week! It's vaccine day in the UK and the cricket winter is in full swing as tours commence left, right and center. India head to Australia and the Kiwis welcome West Indies, but our focus today is England in South Africa. A national lockdown has meant there's been cricket watching time aplenty for Max, Bertie and Ollie and as England's momentum for the T20MWC continues South Africa are stopped right in their tracks. Whilst Bertie and Ollie have analytical answers in the holsters on their hips, Max has more interesting questions on his lips: Does Rassie have a 'hair island'? Will Quinton get a new PS5? Does the Big Grill Newlands building site look like Modern Warfare 2? All big issues along with chat on King Dawid, Jonny Bairstow, analysts and England's bowling options.

#21 IPL 2020 Wrap Up (The Mumbai Indians Episode)

#21 IPL 2020 Wrap Up (The Mumbai Indians Episode)

Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Bloody Indians. They're a bit good that lot. Off the back of a record breaking season in the IPL we simply have to bask in their unremitting greatness for half an hour and soak in this year's final. Expect acclaim for Boult and Bumrah, the openers, middle order and everything which makes up the complete T20 team. With that Matt, Ollie, Sach and Bertie reflect on a dull but impressive IPL 2020 final, ponder the 'Official' IPL 2020 Awards (sponsored by TWU) and Sach wrestles with whether the rearing of Kohli Jr. is worth the trade off when the hopes of 1.36 billion Indians are at stake.

Next week we'll be having a deep dive into the question of Pakistanis playing in the IPL. If you'd like to have your say then DM us on Twitter or email us at bertiemoores@gmail.com

#16 - Curtis Campher, TWU Talks

#16 - Curtis Campher, TWU Talks

🍀At 28-5 and 78-5 in their first two ODIs against England last month, Ireland found themselves looking at the prospect of heavy defeats even before they could come out to have a bowl. Batting at seven, out walks Curtis Campher. In his first two internationals for the side, the allrounder dragged his side back into the games with two fluent half centuries before contributing vital wickets to give Ireland decent prospects of victory. If we impose the stringent cutoff of a minimum of one game played, he possesses one of the highest One Day International batting averages of all time at 127.

However, Curtis didn't grow up in the verdant surroundings of Galway or Cork like his teammates. Born and raised in Johannesburg, he came through the ranks at Gauteng and South Africa U19s.  Qualifying for Ireland through his grandmother, he's taken a leap of faith which, as it stands, appears to be paying off.

Bertie and Max sat down with him to chat about his breakthrough series, coming into the Irish team, and he offers more of an outsider's perspective as to how Irish cricket appears to be building a charge into world cricket. We find out why he left South Africa for a relative cricket backwater, being part of the dawn of Irish Test cricketers, how he finds the famous Irish craic, and whether he does in fact have a ball with Tom Banton's name on it.

#15 Pounds Stirling - England-Ireland 3rd ODI

#15 Pounds Stirling - England-Ireland 3rd ODI

By the time you read this England will have beaten Pakistan in a Test match for the ages. So why don't we rewind 5 days to another incredible victory.  The plucky minnows beating the World Champions. No this isn't a Jamie Vardy flick inspired England beating Germany 3-2 in a friendly in 2016 but  Ireland playing the English at their own game. Namely, letting a shedload of runs do the talking. Stirling and Balburnie secured Ireland's first ever win on English turf chasing down 328 with just one ball to spare. Cue jubilation from the Irish and a lot of 'fair play lads' going around on English cricket Twitter. Bertie and Max dissect the match and also where this sits psychologically for Ireland.

England's 1.5s meanwhile had to stick the triple salchow and landing three matches in a row to stand any chance of avoiding being shunted out for the big guns from the Test side. At the start of a new proper one day cycle what does this mean for those squad players and where does the defeat sit for England in the grand scheme of things?

#13 - 'Seam Strength, Spin Questions' (or England- Windies Series Review)

#13 - 'Seam Strength, Spin Questions' (or England- Windies Series Review)

Oh baby, cricket's returned and it's back with the intensity of dropped Stuart Broad. 3 weeks, 3 Tests. Boom, boom, boom. In the immortal words of the great Peter Kay we are the cricket marines, the Hobnobs being dunked into the Test match tea every week, desperately shouting 'Again' as we're biologically set for constant 5 day a week cricketing immersion. "I'm going nowhere son dip me again," as another 3 Tests against Pakistan appears close on the horizon.

England wrapped up their series victory over the West Indies the other day, and with Max Parry making a long awaited return to the official roster the boys congregate to assess England's performance and more importantly how we can get Stuart Broad more angry. Chris Silverwood's side appear to be making progress and Bertie issues his key takeaways from what has been a good showing all in all. But a 2-1 defeat is the best the West Indies can realistically hope for nowadays away from home as Max bemoans how the game is failing to serve cricket in the Caribbean. Elsewhere, Ollie bemoans Sibley's lack of 'busyness' and Max destroys hopes of obtaining an international cricketing friend of the show.

And cheers to the West Indies for travelling during a global pandemic for the financial wellbeing of the English game. A trip which they didn't have to make and will have mainly helped English cricket keep its head above water.
