The Legacy of One
This past week a dear friend and spiritual mom went home to be with Jesus.
I've been reflecting on how God placed her in my life exactly at the right time to walk with me through a valley, to pull out of me the gifts I didn't know I had, and to help me become who I was formed to be.
I pray that as I share how her calling helped prepare me for mine, you will see that you, too, can leave this earth with a Kingdom legacy that has indeed touched many lives.
Today I honor my dear Pat Self. I know she is tapping her feet to the melodies in Heaven and worshiping the one she spent her life serving.
Real-Life in the Spirit
The last few weeks have been precious with Christ. It seems like He is moving swiftly in this season.
Each day has held the most beautiful moments as I've watched Him touch the lives of many hearts in unique ways.
I simply want to share some small moments that have blessed my own heart so much over the last few weeks so you, too, can learn to keep in step with the spirit of God.
This life in the Spirit is real and, daily, there are real-life encounters with a precious Lord who is mindful of mankind.
To Everything there is a Season
I have felt the Lord stir regarding a shift of seasons yet I was able to ponder my various seasons in light of this passage.
Looking within these precious words I could see each verse that has played out in various seasons of my own life. Perhaps it will give us comfort knowing there is a God who has let us know ahead of time that to everything there is a season.
The Walls My Heart Builds
Today I heard the Lord continue in the discussion in my own heart with the phrase, "The Walls My Heart Builds."
He is wanting to help us drop our walls with Him. Some of our past experiences and even relationships have caused us to build walls not only keeping others out but Him out of what we think are hidden heart places.
But Jesus sees them all and He inclines His heart to hear an honest cry.
The Here and Now
There were times in my walk with God that I was always discontent. Sometimes it still tries to happen. The heart is so stubborn.
God dealt with me on missing the "here and now" always looking at things I didn't have, or what He was doing in someone else, or just always looking to some other place I thought I should be. Then I learned that there is no other place you and I want to be other than the very place we have been graced for.
The Suffering has Seasoned You
Our last equipped meeting was shifted to this message. However, it seems I needed to circle back around a bit and perhaps say some things I didn't during our meeting.
We all go through suffering seasons. However, God wants to focus us on that which is learned in that valley place.
We will be looking at a passage about Christ in Hebrews that points to obedience learned in suffering.
This will give you hope for your future that indeed there are vineyards that grow from that wilderness season.
Self-Control-a fruit of the Spirit-
Self-Control is likely one of the most needed fruits of the Spirit in the body of Christ today.
While the Holy Spirit gives lovely gifts of the Spirit and also our individual personalities, mannerisms, etc...sometimes we need to learn to "control yo-self"
So, let's talk about it:)
Job-The Blameless & Upright Man
Today we read together and talk through Job Chapters 1 and 2. There are so many treasures in this book. Some we seem to love while others seem to confuse us.
The Lord led me to read through this book with you for the next few podcasts. So, lets see what He might show us together.
Feel free to send me your thoughts and what you feel the Holy Spirit spoke to you. I would love to hear about them.
A Song in the Night
We will also see the same phrase mentioned in the scriptures.
Let's talk about it and begin to watch as God sends us songs in the night to encourage us in Him.
Enough is Enough
I've just decided, as many others have, enough is enough and it's time to lift a voice to it.
Instead of blaming and shaming people for leaving our churches, using fear tactics and unbiblical memes to guilt people perhaps we are the problem. It's past time we consider the possibility.
Let's talk about what, or who, the church really is according to the scriptures. Let's also talk about our rationale behind some harmful things that happen daily within the walls of our own houses of worship.
Then let us face Jesus head on that He may strip us of all things that do not bring Him glory and honor.
When You Fail with Healthy Boundaries
This week I blew it...so this podcast is me spanking my own self:) and sharing with you so you can see how easy it is, how tempting it is, and how it is not helpful in the long run to give way to those boundaries.
Jesus knows what you need any how you need to operate to be effective in His Kingdom. Let's talk about it...
Spending Time with Jesus
The Lord woke me last night after conversations we had regarding this topic in ministry.
I believe God wants to shift the way we look at time in His presence as more of a "being" than "doing."
He delights in time with us. It's where we get filled with oil that is necessary for daily life and godliness.
I will also share some practical ways to help you get started in implementing a sweet place and space with the Lord.
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOO!
For Those Feeling Forgotten
Forgotten by people and perhaps forgotten by God.
However, the Lord took me to two beautiful stories in the scriptures about men who also seemed, at times, forgotten.
I think this will encourage your hearts today.
Burn the Idols-preparing to be used by God-
I want to be a vessel God can use. One striving for holiness and working out my salvation. I want to live knowing the awe of God and to see Him use me to heal and deliver but there is a cost to this kind of life.
Let's talk about it...
Behind the Scenes
This is the place God watches to see if we will be faithful with the little. This is the place of good and God-called ministers who see to the needs of the people even when it is goes unseen by the public eye.
Learn to Pivot with Jesus
It is so important to learn how to pivot when Jesus is desiring to do so.
How do we know when to pivot in life and ministry?
Let's talk about it as I share some things we've experienced here.
Today is a practical sharing of how to discern the Holy Spirit at work around us and to move into a place God is calling us into.
Seasons change and our job is simply to continue following Jesus.
A Time to be Silent
Today we talk about the times to be silent. It's as critical for us to learn this with the Holy Spirit as it is to learn well when it's the time to speak.
Accepting the "What is."
I see many who struggle with accepting the reality of "what is."
Whether it's a marriage that ended or a life full of struggles you wish didn't exist, we can get stuck in the inability to accept reality.
The light of Jesus exposes all darkness and He is all about the truth of even our present reality.
Accepting the "what is" is very important for your heart healing.
Many fall in love with "potential" that ends up not being what we had hoped. If we stay in hopes of a thing that never changes after adequate effort, well, we become bound by "potential" because we are denying the reality of "what is."
This can include relationships, dreams, ministry endeavors, etc.
However, we can learn to be content in all things as Paul shares with us in Philippians 4 knowing that God is sovereign. In this place of rest we learn that waiting is still moving forward and every season is appointed for our ultimate good.
Becoming a Cheerful Giver
We soon find ourselves on beautiful adventures with Jesus as He delivers miracle moments to unsuspecting hearts in need.
It is my belief that God is raising up a church who has a giving heart and a willing spirit.
May we, each, choose to participate in a last days gift giving with the best Gift-Giver I've ever known.
The Loose Ends are Loosing You
For a few months God has been talking to me about "Tying up loose ends." This past week it kept coming again and again in His Word, through prophetic devotionals, and other avenues.
It was clear to me that this was on His heart for us in the body of Christ.
Let's look at what "Loosing" means and why it is so important to the heart of God for us in this season.
Like a Merchant Ship-a look at proverbs
I woke up the morning after our last Equipped meeting with a scripture in Proverbs already on my mind. It was obvious God wanted me to circle back around with this addition to our mobilization meeting discussions.
This episode was meant to air last week but the system had a glitch so it ended up being late for you after all. However, I trust God was still at work in the delay.
God Bless:)
How God Trains a Man-a call to war
Over the past few weeks I've recognized the Lord has been giving me writings around the topic of war. This includes "Casualties of War," "The Training,: and others.
Today I want to share a message I recently re-recorded after delivering it to a sweet group in New York.
It is indeed war-time.
The Call of the Prophet
This will be a different kind of podcast this week. You'll hear music in the background and in the end I'm singing to you what God has placed on my heart. Some of you need the encouragement and validation as His prophetic voices of this generation.
So, He is allowing me to bring you into my place of prayer and pondering today as I feel God wants to speak spontaneously to His prophets through word and song.
The Teaching that Drops Like Rain
Over my years have come many teachings through rainy seasons.
Some rain was refreshing and full of blessings while others were stormy and the rain fell hard and harsh. Yet, in that hardest season came my most valuable lessons.
I hope as I share that which I learned through the rains that you will be encouraged in your own rainy season.
What God Really Hates-(and how we missed it)
In all of my "unlearning" with the Lord this topic has been one of the most heartbreaking.
In my church upbringing was often quoted, "God hates divorce."
When God began to take me through all of the scriptures regarding divorce and the original language coupled with the culture of the day, dowry's of tradition, and marriage contracts and customs my heart broke as I realized we had sorely missed some critical things about His heart.
Many women have been abused with the scripture and forced to stay in abusive marriages, likewise many of my brothers quit preaching the gospel feeling like they were now disqualified due to a divorce. Listen, being married to one wife has nothing to do with divorce, but it is addressing the polygamy of the day. Be free in Jesus and get back to preaching.
Not every divorce is sin in and of itself. The "Why" is important but most of all we must relook at this passage and the full counsel of the Word to understand what God really hated...
This is not just for those who've been divorced but also for those who minister to people. This is a truth you can not afford to miss for the body of Christ.
So many should be set free to be all they were designed to be...
The blood of Jesus misses nothing, indeed.
Let's talk about it...
And They Spoke with Boldness
As I prayed I saw a vision of the words ACTS 4 so I went to look it up. I was amazed that it was speaking parallel to what He has already been saying. Some of you will shock people after coming out of the isolation of the secret place where your heart was set on the right thing, Jesus alone.
But now what you've done in secret will be made a beautiful "public spectacle" because others need to see what intimacy with Christ is really like and what it produces in a heart surrendered fully to Him.
So, You Wanna be a Leader?
Walking through our kitchen at the ministry I was taken aback as I hear the Lord say these words, "So, you wanna be a leader?"
I started laughing as I began to realize this was a topic on the Lord's heart for a podcast.
So let's take a look at what God wants in one of His leaders.
Returning to the Deliverance Ministry of Jesus
Is Deliverance in the Bible? Oh yes!
Today I'll share what we are personally seeing God do in the area of deliverance, how God was preparing me for this many years ago, I'll and take you through some of the scriptures where deliverance was given to those bound by unclean spirits.
Let us return to setting the captives free in Jesus name.
A Season for New Garments
Yesterday the phrase, "New Garments, " came out of my mouth and when I walked away I was whispering to the Lord, "Why did I say that?"
I believe we are walking into a season where God is "Re-dressing" some of us.
Let's talk about it...
Restoring the Years
This week I wanted to share some vulnerable moments with you to encourage you as you navigate this life with Jesus.
He has proven to be what He says, a restorer of the years the locust ate.
Let me share some personal testimonies of how I've seen God do this in my own life and how He is working in ways we likely do not understand in hard seasons.
ABOUT FACE!
I was sitting at my desk when I heard a very clear, ABOUT FACE, come from the Lord. I knew it was for the body of Christ and that God was preparing us for a coming war by getting us into proper position and alignment with Him.
When following Jesus there are many about faces that occur. Whenever He nudges to do an about face it is for our good and God's Kingdom purpose.
When Hoping is Hard
At times we have a knowing that Christ is on His throne, that He is taking care of us at all times, and yet we find ourselves finding that hope is hard.
If we're honest we feel like He is dangling a carrot in front of us that we can never reach....but the devil is just a liar.
Lets talk about it...
The Baby in the Basket
This is a live recording of a message given at Night at the Well. The passage of scripture covered is from Exodus 2.
There was more than just a baby in the basket...
May it minister to your hearts.
A Deliverance Story-how the devil distorts Truth.
We saw Jesus set a woman free instantly from bondage that came through a long-taught passage of scripture that has been often misunderstood and left many women bound and discouraged.
Today we talk about her beautiful deliverance by simply learning the truth of God's Word.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free...
Deliverance can also occur by untangling a theology with errors that was used by the enemy to put a yoke of slavery around one of God's children.
It was indeed a moment of rejoicing!
Are You in the Right Position?
The anointing of God follows the assignment of God. Often we find ourselves in the wrong position, role, place, etc. It is not really a small thing, honestly.
Just like in the secular world, we have unique giftings to fill certain roles. These are what I call God roles, not man's roles.
Today's 320 Podcast was recorded on the road, so enjoy riding with me:)
If you're a leader, then you'll likely not do well in a space where you can't be all Christ has designed you to be. While we can learn in many places and are equipped in many varying rooms, God has every intention of leading you to the place He has assigned you to. Be mindful that it can change from season to season.
If God isn't with me, then I'm not going, but I think I didn't always know how important this heart posture really was.
If I'm the wrong person for any team in a certain season, then I will hinder the anointing. God doesn't choose based on skill. He assigns the one anointed for "that" position. This is very clear in the scriptures.
We see it with Paul, Deborah, David, Esther, Elisha...etc.
Your Circle Matters
The Bible has plenty to say about the kind of friends you need to help you grow in Christ Jesus. New seasons at times will call you into new faces that you'll need to ready you for new assignments.
This podcast is to share a writing the Lord gave me called, Your Circle Matters. I talk honestly about the pitfalls that can occur when you're surrounded by the wrong people in any given season.
Let's take a look at how critical your circle really is.
Is This It?
Over the years, I often misunderstood some of God's ways.
I would be found wondering, "Is this it?" I always seemed to be trying to get "somewhere."
That is a good question for some circumstances, but not for others.
Often your "It" is self-limiting, and you do not realize that there is way more to your walk with Christ than that little ole "It."
Today I talk honestly about what I've learned while walking with Jesus and how there have been times of disappointment because I was asking the wrong questions or misunderstanding His purpose in a situation altogether.
Obedience
Worship is more than a 3 song set. It really is a life of obedience, following Jesus.
Let's look at what God says obedience is.
Find an obedient heart, and you'll find a true worshiper who intimately loves Jesus.
The Springs in Dry Lands
My own life experiences with Jesus have proven the Word of God to be true.
While in prayer, the Lord gave me a vision, which I share on today's podcast. The vision sent me to Isaiah 41:17-18. Let's look at it together.
Today we talk about the springs that can come while in desert seasons as I share a song not yet recorded with you that lyrically will speak to your heart about the love of Jesus being found in every season of our walk with Him.
When God Breaks the Mold
We tend to be creatures of habit. Because of this, we tend to think God will do the same things again the same way, yet that is rarely the case.
He breaks our patterns, our traditions, and that which we have molded as the only way to do things.
I love to say, "God is the boss of me" but it's taken me many years, honestly, to let Him break my expectations, my schedules, and my control of things so that I can allow Him to accomplish what He desires in any season.
This is our discussion on today's podcast.
Divinely Marked
In the middle of walking with Christ and trying our best to go where we are to go, we often forget the truth of the matter. Being divinely marked means we need not strive, but abide. All manner of fear and insecurities rise to make us believe the lie that God has left us to our own devices.
Sometimes there's a hallway of waiting, and even that is a season divinely marked.
Let's talk about this little poem the Lord dropped into my Spirit this morning right before recording this podcast.
Divinely Marked
People come and go
And all good things must end
But if Christ is your King
Then all is left to Him.
When seems the rain has stalled
Praise Him in the hall
For the very Ancient of Days
Keeps us in His palm.
Fear not what lies ahead
He is the very Light
That shines upon your feet
And knows the time of flight.
If surrendered we truly are
Then settle our dear hearts
We're safe in His kind arms
Every step divinely marked.

Secret Fears
Step Outside
Is there always a need for caution, yes.
However, the Holy Ghost in you will reveal the truth to you, so you need not fear a new place or a new environment.
Today I talk about some of the reasons it helped me when God started sending me to other Churches and other people to minister. I realized there was more life in Christ than I knew was available to me.
I hope you enjoy the candid conversation of this week's 320 Podcast.
Pay Attention to your Dream Life
In this season, God is really speaking to many we serve through dreams, including myself. For a number of years now, God has given me clarity to ministry direction, new assignments, and even warnings through my dreams.
Dreams can be a language from God. It was the same throughout the scriptures. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Are you paying attention to your dream life, or are you dismissing the possibility that the very God who hung the stars and put the earth on its axis is trying to speak directly to you?
I hope this podcast encourages you to become a good steward of your dreams.
When God's Calling is Not What You Wanted
God mantles His people uniquely and specifically. Before our frame was visible, He saw us. He designed us for a mission. He knew exactly who we were to become. Yet sometimes we have no idea what that mission really is. We have our own ideas and heart desires that may or may not line up with what God has actually called us to do and be.
On this episode, I’ll be sharing a personal season where God called me to something I didn’t really want, and I surely never asked for. I had my mind made up as to who I wanted to be in the Kingdom, but God had very different plans for me and my future.
Boy, what I would have missed if I had all my prayers and desires answered my way. His plan was so much richer. I suspect His plans for you are as well.
The Land Called Familiar
I've found the Land of Familiar is likely the most dangerous place one could ever be. It can go undetected for years, lulling one to sleep rather than urging one onward with Christ. This episode is to wake up all those in the land of familiar so that you can be all Christ Jesus designed you to be.
Abandoning the Call
Much can get us off the wall from that which Christ has called us to do. Sometimes I watch slowly a sweet one abandon entirely the call of God on his or her life. A fast-flowing river of "this" or "that" seems to carry them further and further away from that which they were designed to do in the Kingdom of God.
Let us be so careful we do not do the same.
A Recent Dream for the Body of Christ
Today will be a bit different as I walk you through a dream the Lord recently gave me. It is a teachable moment of how to pay attention to your dream life where the Lord is concerned and how to pray them through as well as let the Holy Spirit lead you to the meaning.
I do consider this dream to be a warning dream for the body of Christ.
Loneliness of the Call with Jessica Gunter
What it Feels Like to Fly with Debby Mathis (a story of healing)
Debby recently finished teaching a women's class on Boundaries, where all that she has learned personally came to now help others on their journey.
We pray so much, this encourages you to take your step toward healing.
You won't regret it.
