Then, I illustrate how you can appreciate the ordinary. However, if that doesn’t work, I explain how you can add spice to your routine. Lastly, I recap the ideas shared today.

18 lessons I learned at 18

18 lessons I learned at 18

Hey, there! To kick off 2023, I drink some peach tea in a Juan Valdez mug. In my life update, I give a rundown of the past few weeks. In this episode, I share the lessons I learned at the age of 18:
1. Your fear of “adulting” can be solved by simply keeping up with things. Mechanisms are in place to keep you up to speed. Just check your email and reach out if needed.
2. Curtains are really good at hiding messes.
3. It’s okay to do things last minute.
4. Life really will throw you the same lesson until you learn it (or so we’re able to notice).
5. There’s always “something”, maybe we should alter our definition of “normal”.
6. Stack outside activities.
7. It’s not that sometimes you don’t think, it’s that usually don’t and it works out.
8. It’s all about standards.
9. Things always have so much more shifting to do.
10. You actually need to treat things.
11. If you want a friendship like in the movies, make it.
12. Self compassion.
13. Life is a humbling experience.
14. Things ALWAYS work out.
15. Just because the first world does it like that, doesnt necessarily mean it’s the right way.
16. The suitcase doesn’t need to be flat.
17. You are at peace when you have expressed to the people in your life how you feel about them.
18. “The family you choose” is cheesy but it’s very real.
I close by recommending The Good Place.

The next thing to look forward to

The next thing to look forward to

Hey, there! Join me for this week’s tea talk on coffee in my classic “T” mug, and a life update on my whereabouts of the past week. I introduce this topic with an analysis of my past experiences and the structure for this episode. Then, I explore why developing the habit of finding things to look forward to can be positive. Next, I acknowledge the guilt I carry when doing this related to the background meaning. Afterward, I understand that it is possible to focus solely on the advantages looking forward to things can bring as a previsionary measure. I wrap up with my conclusions and recommendation.

Hey, there! This week I am joined by my best friend, José. After a tea talk about gummy worms and the story of why he’s on the podcast, you get to know him through rapid fire questions about memories, lessons, motivation, and goals. Firstly, we talk about Jose’s current academics: his studies, post-grad plans, and STEM advice. Secondly, we explore our friendship: it’s meaning, staying close, giving advice, showing support, the value of friendship, and his friends’ families. Thirdly, Jose opens up about applying to colleges in the US: translating achievements, what ifs, lessons, and reflections. Then, Jose asks me his questions and shares his recommendations before signing off.

The power of female role models

Hey, there! I share mint tea in a watercolor ceramic flower mug for this week's tea talk. In my life update, I talk about what I've been doing over the past week, the movies I've watched, and updates regarding France. I introduce the power of female role models by explaining their roles in my life. Then, I share the types of female role models I have and examples. Next, I distinguish why this isn't toxic jealousy. Afterward, I state how to define and adapt your own role models.

Consistency is key | An interview with Laura Gutiérrez

Consistency is key | An interview with Laura Gutiérrez

Hey, there! For this month's guest interview, I am joined by one of my most admirable friends: Laura Gutiérrez. We share our respective tea talks (for Lala: red Hatsu tea in an "L" mug, and for me: Jasmine Blossom tea in a pink I love NY mug), and then I introduce my special guest. We discuss memories, habits, priorities, and philosophies in the rapid-fire questions. Firstly, we dive into leadership: what it means, advice, inspiring teams, and setting boundaries. Secondly, we go into doing things well: how Lau masters new activities, deals with laziness, adds "spice" to everything she does, and goes the extra mile. Thirdly, we get to understand Laura's general life views regarding peer pressure, limits, overwhelm, maintaining relationships, what people around her are doing wrong, and her life compass. Finally, Lau asks me her question, recommends a podcast and YouTube channel, and says goodbye.
