#34 - Kevin Falcon BC United Leader & addy Co-Founder Stephen Jagger

Last night marked an exciting evening in downtown Vancouver as the Terminal City Club played host to a gathering featuring Kevin Falcon, the Official Opposition Leader for the BC United Party. The event drew in a diverse crowd, including real estate investors, business magnates, and members of the addy community.

(Create an addy account today - https://app.addyinvest.com/signup/create )

Adding to the camaraderie were alumni from Vancouver College, who turned out to hear from one of their own, Kevin Falcon, who is also a graduate of the school.

Kevin Falcon and addy Co-Founder Stephen Jagger took the stage for a fireside chat where Kevin shared his vision for the province. He delved into critiques of the current government’s performance, offered insights into the latest poll results, and provided updates on the party’s name change initiative. Additionally, he shared his perspectives on the BC Conservative party, sparking a wide-ranging conversation that engaged attendees.

The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Wilson Beck Insurance, whose sponsorship helped make the event a resounding success.

From thought-provoking discussions to networking opportunities, the gathering provided attendees with a unique insight into the political landscape of British Columbia, courtesy of one of its prominent figures, Kevin Falcon. As the province navigates through challenging times, events like these serve as invaluable platforms for dialogue, collaboration, and community engagement.

Reminder - addy hosts a variety of events featuring speakers covering a wide range of topics, including politics. Our aim is not to endorse any specific politician or party. Rather, we strive to empower the addy community to engage directly with influential figures and participate actively in important conversations.

#7 - Future of Secondary Markets - Andrew Gaucher, GM, GGroup Land Development

Historically the Okanagan real estate market has been relatively stable and growing. In addition to being on the cusp of a long expansion cycle, the Kelowna market has been strengthening thanks to young professionals and baby boomers alike. There’s a mini tech boom happening - a lot of young people earning similar rates to what’s offered in the lower mainland but living costs are more affordable here. Both housing and office space are much less costly in the Okanagan, making it a more affordable locale for both tech companies and their employees. There’s also more impetus to retire in Kelowna now, and there seems to be a steady drip-feed of demand coming in from Edmonton and Calgary. It never used to be a place to buy a second home or retire, but prospective buyers are getting wise.

BUT will it continue to be a top choice for tech and retirees in a post-COVID world? What impact will this crisis have on local real estate?

Join us as we chat with Andrew Gaucher about real estate investing in secondary markets like Kelowna and what might come next as the economic impacts of the pandemic continue to develop.
