The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Manchester Utd 3-2 Arsenal (EP.66)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. What should have been a routine victory against a United side lacking in confidence and form turned out to be the game they needed to regain some control of the season. Arsenal started the game well, creating opportunities and playing at a high tempo. However, it all fell apart following Emile Smith-Rowe’s opening goal. Arsenal sat off and allowed United to get back into the game which ultimately gave them the belief needed to take all 3 points. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle Utd (EP.65)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. It was going to be interesting to see how Arsenal would react following a thumping last weekend. Despite the poor first half against what looked like a reinvigorated Newcastle side under the management of Eddie Howe, Arsenal came to life in the second half to secure a positive victory. But why did it take so long for the game to come to life? Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal (EP.64)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. After a run of 10 games without losing a game, Arsenal suffer one of their biggest defeats of the season. This game was one, most fans were looking forward to for a number of reasons. One of them being to assess how far Arteta's Arsenal have come. This is a disappointing defeat to take because that question still remains unanswered. After a brilliant competitive first half where Arsenal defended brilliantly whilst hit Liverpool on the counterattack which caused a few issues for Liverpools defence, it all fell apart in the second half. Certainly, there were aspects of the game where fans can clearly identify our improvements. However, ultimately there is still a long way to go yet. In this episode we were pleased to be joined by fellow Gooner, Jaz from The Kicking off Podcast as we discussed an array of topics relating to Arsenal. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-0 Watford (EP.62)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal stretch their unbeaten run to 10 games as Arteta completes his 100th game. The win puts Arsenal in 5th place with 2 points separating them and Liverpool as we approach the international break. Arsenal produce another great performance with a scoreline that didn’t really reflect the great football being played for the most part. A first half filled with goal scoring opportunities with a range of dodgy officiating. Followed by a similar second half but a nervy final 15 minutes. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Leicester 0-2 Arsenal (EP.61)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal stretch their unbeaten run to 9 games creating more confidence and momentum as they climb up the Premier League table. Many were anxious to watch todays game for a number of reasons. One of them being because we were up against a side who had supposedly replaced our position in the top 6 debate. However, a dominant first half display gave Arsenal the start needed to win all three points. Once again, the team performed as a unit but a special mention needs to be given to Aaron Ramsdale who was impeccable and probably gave the best performance of his career so far. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Aston Villa (EP.60)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Despite the dreadful performance on Monday night, Arsenal redeem their pride after a dominant display against an underwhelming Aston Villa. This was one of Arsenals strongest performances this season with 90 minutes of dominant, attacking football whilst defending as a unit. The manager made three changes with Lacazette, Lokonga and Tavares coming in for Pepe, Odegaard and Tierney which worked to their advantage as all three changes were central to the counterattacking offensive football that was too much for Villa to handle. A very good three points won on a Friday night that sees up move up to the top half of the table. Is it time we start to trust the process? The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-2 Crystal Palace (EP.59)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal were staring down the barrel of yet another defeat after a very stale performance. Thankfully Lacazette was in the right place at the right time to help salvage a point that will inevitably gloss over the abject performance. What started as an encouraging opening 20 minutes of high-pressing attacking football ended up being a naive and overcomplicated game of football. Arsenal chose to ignore the fundamentals of the game, whilst Palace executed them and deserved all 3 points. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Brighton 0-0 Arsenal (EP.58)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal survive a nervy game of football at the Amex Stadium against Brighton as they stretch their unbeaten run to 4 games. As Mikel Arteta said, we just about deserved the single point as we were dominated by Brighton for the majority of the game. There were a few opportunities where we could have scored and secured the 3 points. Having said that, the levels of intensity and sharpness were very different in comparison to the North London Derby performance. The weather may have had an impact on the performance, but whilst Arsenal were fumbling around the pitch, Brighton were excellent and were producing beautiful passing performances and silky attacking football. They will really feel hard done by as they lost 2 points. Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast (ft. Moh Haider) - Have Arsenal Turned A Corner? Time To Trust The Process? Still Kroenke Out? (EP.57)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. In this special midweek episode we were joined by Moh Haider to discuss all things Arsenal. We started the show by discussing the brilliant victory over Spurs on the weekend and who the key performers were. We spoke about Mikel Arteta's process, what it is and whether it's finally time to trust it. We explored Arsenal's identity and what it's become since Arteta took charge. Whilst discussing the process we gave our thoughts on how far Arsenal are from the completion of the rebuild project. Whilst giving our expectations on what we hope Arsenal will achieve this season we also discussed whether there's any way back for the Kroenkes. We ended the show by giving a brief preview on the Brighton game. Please let us know what you enjoyed about the podcast and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham (EP.56)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal produce a perfect performance to wipe aside a poor Tottenham side who weren't at the races. Arsenal started the game on the front foot with high pressing and a positive attitude to win the ball quick whilst passing the ball with purpose. Within the first 45 minutes, Arsenal created 3 brilliant goals whilst showcasing the intelligent counter-attacking football. Every player put in a purposeful performance that saw the team play as a unit, which makes it difficult to point at one or two individuals who stole the show. Having said that, the defensive performance stood out as Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel and Tierney silenced Tottenhams attacking threat by holding an organised defensive line in place and shutting down any threat early on. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Burnley 0-1 Arsenal (EP.55)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal successfully managed to salvage the 3 points from Turf Moor after a resolute performance. Burnley made it incredibly difficult during the course of the 90 minutes with plenty of long balls into the box, plenty of physical battles in the middle of the pitch and plenty of set pieces to question Arsenal’s defensive capabilities. All of which were answered through some excellent defensive performances from Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White and Tierney who all seem to be gelling quite quickly at the back. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the offensive side of our performance, but this wasn’t the game to analyse or scrutinise offensive football. Whilst we were pretty poor in possession, we managed to score a goal and defend well enough to earn a clean sheet and take all 3 points back. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast (ft. Simon Collings) - Arsenal 1-0 Norwich (EP.54)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal finally register a goal and 3 points which pushes them out of the relegation zone and halts the never-ending relegation jokes, for now. What was a positive performance and a great team effort failed to reflect on the scoreline as Arsenal created thirty goalscoring opportunities but only managed seven on target, putting one in the back of the net. The game marked the start of a new era with a young squad on show; reflecting the work of Arteta and Edu in the transfer market. The first impressions reflect a hungry bunch of youngsters who are ready to prove that they have what it takes to carry the weight of the badge. This week we were joined by Simon Collings from the Evening Standard as we discussed the victory over Norwich and what it means as we move on to Burnley. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Man City 5-0 Arsenal (EP.52)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal are humiliated by Man City in a gruelling 5-0 defeat at The Etihad. Arsenal fans were reduced to sarcastic cheers and applauds as they witnessed a lazy, uninspired and quite frankly a spineless performance despite starting the first 5 minutes on the front foot. Questions will now be asked of the manager and whether he is capable of turning this ship around as Arsenal complete the first 3 games of the Premier League season without registering a single goal let alone a win. This defeat highlighted all the issues at the club. From the lack of quality in defence to the lack of leadership by the captain, there will need to be some drastic changes in the coming weeks for Arsenal to have any chance of turning things around. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Brom 0-6 Arsenal (EP.51)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. This marked the first victory of the season, with a stellar performance by a very strong Arsenal side. The result will inevitably give Areteta and the players a confidence boost as they look ahead to the game on the weekend against Manchester City. In this episode we analyse the performance against West Brom by discussing certain individuals like Tavares, Odeggard, Saka and Aubameyang. We also discuss other matters like the potential departures of Torreira, Kolasinac, and Willian. We also give our thoughts on the cryptic Qatari tweets about a potential takeover. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea (EP.50)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. A second defeat for Arsenal and Arteta as they fail to score a single goal in their first two premier league games, a first for the club. Certainly going into this game, the fans were expecting a challenging afternoon against a Chelsea squad looking likely to challenge for the title, especially with a brand new £100m striker to add to their already lucrative squad. Arsenal on the other hand were being reduced to a limited squad due to covid outbreaks. However, Arsenal did start the game brightly with plenty of possession and confident passes being played by Xhaka and Lokonga. Once again though, it was naive defending that cost us the game, coupled with the inevitability of playing a team with far more quality. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. This week saw a fresh injection of busy transfer news doing the rounds as Arsenal plan to announce the signings of Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale. We were joined by Scott Borg who gave his thoughts on the signings and whether he feels they are adequate enough to improve the quality of the squad. We also discussed the potential sale of Aubameyang and/or Lacazette as they are set to miss the London derby against Chelsea on Sunday. We give our thoughts on the planned Kroenke Out protest and how affective it will be in our never-ending journey to oust Kroenke from a steadily declining Arsenal. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Brentford 2-0 Arsenal (EP.48)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal start the opening game of the season with a defeat to newly promoted side Brentford who managed to score two goals whilst also keeping a clean sheet. What looked like a fresh, new and exciting starting XI with plenty of young talent on show soon turned out to be nothing more than false hope as Brentford launched their Premier League campaign with a goal on the 22nd minute. Arsenal played some good attacking football at times with Tierney delivering some great balls into the box from the left hand flank but Brentford were well setup and defended as a unit whilst Arsenal played a risky high line that didn’t work to their advantage as they were caught out on a number of occasions by players like Toney and Mbuemo. The second half contained the same optimistic football but there were clear problems with the ability to progress the ball with any effective fluidity. Unfortunately, we were too wasteful in the final third and were punished for it as Brentford scored a second goal from a throw-in that would seal their first ever Premier League victory. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Pre-Season Ends In Defeat, Ramsdale Deal Dead? Will Willock Be Replaced? (EP.47)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about the club we love, Arsenal Football Club. This week marked the final pre-season podcast as we look ahead to the curtain raiser for the 2021/21 Premier League season. The pre-season didn’t end the way we would’ve liked with a defeat to Tottenham. Whilst discussing the defeat to Spurs, we also discussed the first game of the season and how ready Arsenal are to start the season. We gave our prediction for where Arsenal would finish with the current squad as well as a squad with a few editions. We gave our thoughts on the potential signing of Ramsdale for £30m as well as the possibility of Tammy Abraham signing for Arsenal. We discussed who could potentially leave by the end of the window including the very likely transfer of Willock to Newcastle for £25m. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-0 Brighton (EP.36)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal end the season off with an impressive performance against Brighton who were second best all game. Arteta's men started the game on the front foot by playing some beautiful football and creating chances early on. There were some standout performances from the likes of Chambers, Partey, Emile Smith-Rowe, Odegaard and Xhaka and with fans back in the stadium, you could feel the players feeding off the positive energy at the Emirates. Despite two brilliant Pepe goals we only managed to finish 8th and avoid the dreaded Europa Conference League which Tottenham have the pleasure of competing in next season. All in all, it has been a dreadful season and one all fans will keep in the back of their minds. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal (EP.35)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal win their 4th Premier League game in a row to make it 12/12 points which is the longest winning streak Arteta has achieved. However, it wasn't all plain sailing as they struggled to finish Palace off in the second half following a dominant first in which Pepe scored to put Arsenal in the lead. For whatever reason, we started to irritate the home supporters and were punished for it as they galvanised the Palace players to get an equaliser from a set piece. Arsenal were quite lucky not to concede more as they nicked two late goals thanks to substitutes, Martinelli and Odegaard. Can we finish above Tottenham and Everton in the final game of the season? The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal (EP.34)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal pulled out an impressive defensive performance as they stole all 3 points at Stamford Bridge to steal all 6 points from Chelsea this season. Considering how badly our season has ended up being, this was very much a game where it wouldn't have been a massive surprise had we lost. However, what was surprising is the system Arteta decided to play which re-introduced the back 5 which we haven't seen this whole season. However, it worked a treat as we played some attractive football in the opening 20 minutes. Yet, having scored the opening goal, our backs went against the ball as we spend the remaining 70 minutes of the game putting in an impressive defensive performance with Holding, Mari and Gabriel at the heart of it  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-0 Villarreal (EP.32)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal crash out of the Europa League and their season is well and truly over despite having the slimmest chance of finishing in a Europa League place. We started the game horribly wrong with a negative tempo, poor attitude and overall the wrong sort of strategy. Arteta will get the brunt of the blame for the defeat and how our season has panned out. However, the fact still remains, this club has been driven down to the ground for the good part of a decade by poor ownership. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Newcastle 0-2 Arsenal (EP.31)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal get back to winning ways with a convincing victory at St James Park, beating Newcastle 2-0. Despite a victory and a clean sheet it was somewhat of a drab game with the tempo being quite slow for the most part. However, there were some standout performers like Martinelli who was excellent on the Left Wing and managed to gain an assist. The question however still remains, can Arsenal beat Villarreal on Thursday? That remains unanswered and the victory didn't do much to restore any confidence in the fans as judgement day nears closer.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Villarreal 2-1 Arsenal (EP.30)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. An awful performance that summarises Arsenals season so far. Within the first 5 minutes we concede a goal that could have so easily been avoided. Arteta chose to play Xhaka at Left Back which cost us the first goal. Despite expecting Arsenal to step it up a notch they continued to frost away from the game and allow Villarreal to control the tempo of the game. It only took them another 20 minutes before scoring the second goal. Arsenal seemed dead and buried until the second half where we switched it up a gear to control more possession in the final third and create some goal scoring opportunities. However, the endless crosses in the box didn’t come to fruition as Villarreal continued to test Leno in goal. It took Arteta a sending off before he decided to make a change and bring Martinelli on. His role as a number 9 didn’t really change anything as we continued to play the ball down the flanks which did help us to win a penalty and gain a crucial away goal. This game will be remembered for Arteta’s misjudged system, starting XI and late substitutions. If we lose next Thursday, the fanbase will turn. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-1 Everton (EP.29)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Following a brilliant turnout at the Emirates for the Kroenke Out protest the team delivered what can only be described as a result mirroring the reason why fans protested against the Kroenkes. The overall performance was pretty good considering the amount of key players missing with injury. Plenty of chances were created down both flanks, however we were missing that cutting edge and clinical finishing in the final third. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Slavia Praha 0-4 Arsenal (EP.27)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. A perfect performance by Arteta's Arsenal that saw them wash aside a below average Slavia Praha side and progress into the Semi Finals of the Europa League where they will face Villareal. This was one of Arsenal's strongest performance of the season with 3 first half goals sealing the victory early on. The standout performers on the night were Saka, Smith-Rowe, Pepe, Lacazette and Partey who were all instrumental in getting the ball in the final third to create goal scoring opportunities. Despite having Xhaka play Left Back, Arteta's plan worked perfectly. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Sheffield Utd 0-3 Arsenal (026)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. This was a game that didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things for Arsenal as they looked ahead to the second leg Europa League Quarter Finals against Slavia Praha. If there was anything to gain from Sheffield United, a side preparing for life in the Championship next season, it was confidence and momentum going into Thursdays game in Prague. A solid performance from a side suffering from injuries saw them cruise past Sheffield United with 3 very well worked team goals. The standout performers included Martinelli who appeared on the score sheet, Saka who limped off injured midway through the second half and Lacazette who scored two great goals! The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-1 Slavia Praha (025)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. What started off as a promising game with lots of talent on the pitch with Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe coming back in the lineup, the last minute brought Arsenal back to reality. The game was dominated by Arsenal with so many opportunities being created on the first half down the right hand side with Saka being put through on goal a few times whilst also generating some good crosses in the box, albeit the wrong types of crosses. The second half saw us carry on where we left off from despite Praha start to play a higher line and press with more men. Lacazette had two guilt edge opportunities with a one-on-one and what could be described as a tap in that went over. Whilst Arsenal were strong and dominant in Slavia Praha's half, they also posed a danger when Arsenal lost possession in midfield. We could easily have conceded goals in the first and second half, however had Arsenal taken the opportunities they created early on it could have been a different story. Ultimately, the subs made the difference with Aubameyang coming on to put Pepe through on goal who scored the crucial goal. Martinelli came on to change the pace of the game but he is clearly not the finished product and needs time to adapt and develop himself before being given regular football. As Arsenal enter the later stages of the game, we fail to react positively, crumble under pressure and concede from a set piece. It's all to play for in Prague. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Ham 3-3 Arsenal (023)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. After a horrible first 30 minutes where Arsenal concede 3 goals, they suddenly come to life to steal a thoroughly well deserved point. West Ham started the game really well with an early first half goal from Lingard. Arsenal aren't able to compose themselves quick enough as they concede a second goal from a free kick quickly taken by Lingard who slots it into the feet of Bowen who then beats Leno on his near post. The third goal is scored on the half hour mark as Arsenal look well beaten. However, with a goal scored on the end of the pitch before the half-time whistle there seems to be a glimmer of hope. The gunners start the second half as they left off at the end of the first half and put West Ham under pressure. Silky work on the ball from Odegaard and a strong work ethic from Lacazette helps them get a second goal. The final 30 minutes sees West Ham grow back into the game as a tired Arsenal side sit back, which almost cost them a goal as Antonio hits the bar. Following the introduction of Martinelli and Pepe, Arsenal push to score the third goal. Overall, it's a well deserved point from a team that showed desire and character to come back from 3-0 down, but why do Arsenal make it difficult for themselves? The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-1 Olympiacos (022)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Looking ahead to this game, we all expected Arsenal to face a hungry Olympiacos side who were likely to cause many problems. However, the first half didn't meet those expectations as Arsenal managed the game perfectly with opportunities to seal the tie in the opening 45 minutes. Arteta's men played with a positive energy, great enthusiasm and worked hard to keep the ball throughout the first half. However, the second half was a completely different story as Olympiacos came out of 2nd gear and started to put Arsenal's backline under pressure. For whatever reason, Arsenal struggled to win dominance early on in the second half and following a sloppy mistake in the middle of the pitch, they conceded an early goal. Olympiacos were very much the dominant side in the second half and got themselves in good areas but were unable to capitalise. Arsenal's game management wasn't working and needed Baa to be sent off before taking control of the game. Had it not been for the red card Olympiacos may have scored another goal to make it a very nervy ending to the game. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham (021)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal school Tottenham in the most spectacular fashion. Going into this game, most fans were cautious with how Arteta was going to set Arsenal up against a confident Tottenham side. However, the first 10 minutes showed that we were going to approach this game cautiously whilst dominating it at the same time. Tottenham sat back and allowed Arsenal to play the ball around with comfort and confidence. We cam close to scoring too, with Smith-Rowe's effort that hit the bar, then later Cedric's blistering shot that hit the post. However, following the substitution of Son for Lamela, Arsenal slowed down the pace and allowed them to get back into the game which led to the goal. Arsenal soon woke up and continued to dominate the game which led to a great goal from Odegaard which started from the right hand side. A common theme of our game was the amount of crosses that were coming into the box which although lacked any effectiveness, a low driven cross soon came to fruition. The second half was with Arsenal controlling the game and keeping the ball in their half. Tottenham seemingly trying to grow back into the game with more pressure off the ball but Arsenal were far too comfortable with their passing rhythm and intense pressure off the ball which led to the penalty and the second goal. All in all Arsenal deserved the 3 points against a very poor Tottenham side who once again proved are nothing without Son and Kane on top form.   Guests:  Anthony - Twitter @repofarsenal YouTube: Republic of Arsenal Sulz - Twitter @letsdebatefooty YouTube: Gooner Sulz Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Olympiacos 1-3 Arsenal (020)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Looking ahead into a jam packed week of football, this was a crucial game for Arsenal to win by scoring more than 1 away goal to assure a strong starting lineup for the North London Derby. The starting lineup was relatively strong with Saka, Odegaard and Partey leading the lineup, however it was surprising to see Willian start ahead of Pepe. The game it self was very much a game of two halves with Arsenal starting the first half very strong and dominant with a world class strike from Odegaard. However, following the first goal, Arsenal sat back and allowed Olympiacos to grow into the game and eventually in the second half equalised through yet again, ANOTHER error at the back. This time Leno is to blame for coming out of his area and putting Ceballos under pressure. Following from the error Arsenal found it very difficult to regroup with Olympiacos putting us under pressure and having the ball around the final third of our half. However, a brilliant leap from Gabriel saw him score a wonderful header that changed the tie and soon followed a world class strike from Elneny who apparently is only capable of scoring 30 yard shots. Arsenal will be very happy with the overall result, however with the North London Derby only days away, can this team stop gifting their opposition with goals created from errors.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Leicester 1-3 Arsenal (019)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. I give my instant reaction to Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Leicester City who despite scoring a goal in the first 6 minutes, failed to capitalise on it. Arsenal were exceptional after conceding in the opening 10 minutes of the game and there were some standout performances from Willian, Lacazette and Pepe which helped us get back in front before the end of the first half. This was arguably one of our best, if not, the best performance we've had this season with all 11 players keeping control of the game. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-2 Benfica (018)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. In this video I give my instant reaction to Arsenal beating Benfica in the most intense manner. The game started with Arsenal playing with high energy and a high press which led to the first goal. But, Arsenal got themselves into trouble as they have been doing throughout the course of the season by gifting Benfica with a silly free kick which led to a brilliant goal. Going into the second half, I expected Arsenal to start strong, but they looked very fragile and afraid to be dominant. However, despite dominating the possession and not doing anything with it, we conceded yet again from a mistake at the back. That goal forced Arteta to make two changes which changed the dynamics of the game. A brilliant performance saw us score two goals to progress into the Round of Last 16. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Benfica 1-1 Arsenal (017)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. This was arguably one of the biggest games of Arsenal's season, but the performance failed to reflect the importance. Arteta made the decision of playing the same 11 players who swept Leeds aside on the weekend but failed to replicate anywhere near the same type of performance against a resolute Benfica side who were determined to stay in this tie. Benfica were set up brilliantly with a block of 5 defenders organised to sit back and frustrate Arsenal who failed to make good use of the opportunities they got. Aubameyang could have had a hat-trick with an early shot wide from yards out, which was the theme of the evening. However, despite a flat and abject performance, Arsenal looked the more dominant side throughout the course of the 90 minutes but failed to capitalise and go into the second leg with a lot of work to do, should they make it to the last 16 stage of the competition.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 4-2 Leeds Utd (016)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal back to winning ways with a very convincing performance and result against Leeds Utd who were a shadow of themselves. As Aubameyang picks up his second Hat-Trick in an Arsenal shirt, Arteta's Arsenal display a tactical masterclass to push themselves above Leeds into the top half of the table. Every single player put in a fantastic performance, especially Xhaka and Ceballos who were instrumental in stopping any attacking build-up from Leeds Utd who really struggled to create any momentum for themselves during the course of the game. Does this result mean we have finally unlocked the best out of Aubameyang after a disappointing season? Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal lose to Aston Villa after a poor start to the game and a lapse in concentration that gifts Watkins to put Villa ahead after just a few minutes. Arsenal struggled to get back into the game with a tactically brilliant Villa side who were set up perfectly to nullify any attacking problems Arsenal caused going forward whilst being really effective on the counter attack and general attacking play. They showed, desire, intensity and purpose when going forward and were organised in a defensive shape to stop Arsenal from scoring, everything Arsenal lacked in this game. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United (013)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Despite it being a 0-0 draw, this was an interesting game to watch with two teams that tried hard to cancel each other out. This was very much a game of two halves. The first half was dominated by Manchester United who piled the pressure on an Arsenal side who decided to sit back and invite the pressure. Going into the half-time interval, Manchester United would have been disappointing having not scored from a number of attacking opportunities. Arsenal on the other hand came out in the second half to dominate the remainder of the game, but had it not been for Mikel Arteta's half-time substitution, we might have nicked all 3 points.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal passed their first test of a tough run of games coming up with a fantastic victory against Southampton. Despite being beaten by the better side on the weekend, Arsenal proved today that they are capable of playing beautiful attacking football with high intensity. This was a Mikel Arteta masterclass where he schooled Southampton at their own game. It was end-to-end from the very beginning of the game with 2 early goals and the game continued to play out with the high intensity and high press from both sides. However, at the end of both halves, Arsenal were the better side with some standout performances from the likes of Cedric, Partey, Xhaka Pepe, Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe and Lacazette. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-0 Newcastle United (010)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. After a lacklustre performance against Crystal Palace, Arsenal pulled out on their brightest, dominant and exciting performances of the season by scoring 3 second half goals to end the game 3-0. This game was very similar to the one against West Bromwich Albion yet different at the same time. In this game we didn't need to rely on two or three players because every man made a significant contribution making this a really impressive team victory. Following his return, Thomas Partey made all the difference in the middle with some incredible balls being played to open up Newcastles shape and allowing Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe to run into open space and cause a threat. Despite not scoring a goal in the first half, the team continued their good work and scored early on, courtesy of our captain who looked hungry for goals. Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe continue their good run of form and once again shine in the final third as they link up for the second goal. Finally, Cedric Soares who many were surprised to see start the game proved why he's as good as anyone in the club to play in the right back position by linking up beautiful with Saka to then put in a great ball that finds Aubameyang to seal an impressive 3-0 victory. Our 5th clean sheet in a row too. Impressive. Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 0-0 Crystal Palace (009)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Arsenal continue their undefeated run. That was sarcasm. This performance was very reminiscent to the weekends FA Cup tie with Newcastle. However, unlike the performance against Newcastle, this one felt ten times more frustrating and infuriating. Purely based on the fact that Crystal Palace showed no desire to pose any attacking threat and invited us to throw everything at their defence. This game perhaps brought fans back to reality in remember the team Arteta inherited. One lacking the conviction to finish teams off and one that is unable to pose a threat against mid-table teams. Despite grabbing a point, this performance was one very reminiscent of what we have been witnessing for large parts of the season and perhaps highlights the importance of acting in the transfer window, whilst it's open.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 2-0 Newcastle United (008)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. So Arsenal are through to the 4th round of the FA Cup after beating Newcastle United 2-0 in extra time, the performance is what I choose to focus on. Following a winless run in 6 games, Newcastle come into this game with low confidence giving Arsenal the opportunity to continue on from their brilliant performance at West Bromwich Albion. However, the game starts slow and Arsenal fail to get out of second gear until Emile Smith-Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka are introduced in the second half. Why has Arteta been persistent in playing Willian in the first team? Why is Aubameyang failing to perform well as a Centre Forward? I attempt to answer these questions in this episode.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - West Bromwich Albion 0-4 Arsenal (007)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. A standout performance from Arsenal as they brush aside a very poor West Bromwich Albion, beating them 4-0 at the Hawthorn. Arsenal were the more dominant side from the very first minute and showed their dominance by having 10 shots after just 25 minutes. Kieran Tierney scored a world class individual goal as the team helped Saka to secure a moment of magic in the memory bank, a goal all Arsenal fans will watch back in years to come. This was a display of dominance from Mikel Arteta's side who were ruthless until the last minute of the game.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Brighton 0-1 Arsenal (006)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Another 3 points in the bag for Arsenal, but we made it difficult for ourselves. Following the release of the starting XI, we all thought this was going to be a similar performing Arsenal to the one that beat Chelsea. However, we would soon find out that this was going to be a far trickier affair than the one on Boxing Day. We lacked energy, enthusiasm and played a very cautious game with a similar Brighton side who lacked any cutting edge to take their opportunities in the first half. Luckily, Mikel made the right choices to help us get those 3 big points. I will try to break down why Arsenal lacked the ambition they showed against Chelsea and who was exposed in this dull affair.  Please let me know what you enjoyed about the podcast via my social media links below and do leave the podcast a 5-star review on Apple Podcast. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea (005)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but Arsenal Football Club won a game of football and in some fashion. They demolished a poor Chelsea side who didn't look up for it at all. Arsenal played a high pressing, intense style of football that paid off with the likes of Martinelli, Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe leading the line that was nonstop energy from the start. Arsenal were the strongest team in the first half and thanks to a early second half bit of magic from Saka went 3-0 up where the game had been sealed. This was a significant win for many reasons, the most important being we made a strong case for why Arteta should trust the youngsters coming through the ranks more often. The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Arsenal 1-4 Manchester City (004)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. Another loss to add to our growing number of losses. It almost seems to normal to lose football matches on a regular basis and what makes it worse is becoming numb to it. However, this Quarter Final tie against Manchester City was fascinating to analyse with a controversial starting line-up followed by goalkeeping howlers. In this podcast I break down the 90 minutes of football where we were destined to lose against a strong Manchester City side. However, there were some positives to take away from this game and a light at the end of the tunnel (Martinelli), if he's not injured for the remainder of the season.   You can follow me on Twitter & Instagram

The Arsenal Therapy Podcast - Everton 2-1 Arsenal (003)
Welcome to The Arsenal Therapy Podcast, a dedicated show about a club I love, Arsenal Football Club. This is our 8th loss of the season with Everton giving us a reality check. The performance was very reminiscent of the North London Derby, where they let us dominate the game with little to no end product. There were a number of questionable decisions made by the manager who ultimately paid the price at the end of the match. This was a very difficult podcast to record with the majority of it being very unstructured.   You can follow me on Twitter & Instagram
