But just as we change our minds about what we want to wear each day, we can change our minds about how we perceive the world and create a new reality for ourselves. Are you aware that the way others treat you is based on the way you treat yourself? Read that again...I’ll wait. Look, we all know some “not so nice” people, and we may even be related to a few, but to allow them to stick around and continue to treat us poorly is on us. When someone else’s behavior or language towards you rubs you the wrong way, or out right offends you, it’s up to you to speak up. It’s up to you to change the standard by which you expect to be treated and command the respect you deserve. It’s also up to you to walk away if and when you don’t receive it! I know it’s not always easy, so I’ve got a story for ya that will hopefully help shorten your learning curve and empower you.
