Episode 6: "When Time Stood Still"

Episode 6: "When Time Stood Still"

Joy takes you back in time, to only two months ago, to her classroom that has been frozen in time. She talks about her experience of being horrified but encouraged at the same time, when she sees evidence of her old ways, but at the same time proof of her new progress in minimalism. Joy shares a beautiful poem written by Youheum Son from healyourliving. It is a beautiful example of how the practice of minimalism can overflow into our choice of words and how we can thoughtfully and intentionally use our words for positive and loving encouragement.

Let it Happen Naturally

Let it Happen Naturally

In this third episode, Joy shares her perspective on minimalism and that for her she did not try to force it. She describes how the process has unfolded very naturally and how the process can be truly enjoyable. Sometimes its a time and season thing, so it has to unfold authentically and organically in each individual life a little differently.

"Where do I start?"

"Where do I start?"

As I thought about what had recently re-ignighted me into minimalism, I remembered that I didn't start with cleaning out a closet or a drawer. With the help of a plant-based coach, I started with cleaning up and de-stimulating my mind and emotions. Meditation and focus was the first step for me and in this episode I share my experience and some resources that really helped me start to clean up my toxic mind.
