By Shaina Brickner and Liz Wade

We are 2 labor and delivery nurses in Los Angeles, CA. On this podcast, we discuss all things birth, babies, breastfeeding, and beyond! We're getting behind the scenes of the nursing world--what makes us as nurses tick and how we can help you have a smoother experience in labor and delivery. Our goal is to provide education for patients-to-be as well as L&D nurses trying to navigate their way through providing care for patients in one of the most intimate (and sometimes scary) times of their life! 041 Advocating for Yourself in Labor and Building a Relationship with Your Labor Nurse

This is part 2 of our series discussing relationships in the workplace. This episode is specifically about the relationship between the labor nurse and the patient in labor and delivery. This is such a unique relationship that's built within the time frame of about 12 hours usually! The nurse is trying her best to establish a rapport and prove herself trustworthy to the patient. When conflict arises, the patient should be able to rely on the nurse to be her advocate.

039 What Does Fascia Have To Do With Labor and Delivery? Interview with Marya Eddaifi BSN, RN, RNC-OB, CPT

We are people with muscles, bones, ligaments, connective tissue, and most importantly, FASCIA. Our guest Marya Eddaifi, serving as a military nurse in Germany and working in the labor and delivery unit, explains what fascia is and how it relates to the laboring woman! She is the creator of Dysfunctional Labor Maneuvers (DLM). This course is designed for birth professionals such as midwives, RN's, OB/GYN, childbirth educators, doulas, and anyone else who is involved in labor and birth. Dysfunctional Labor ManeuversSM (DLM) offers a unique approach to solving many complications that arise and prevent physiologic birth. DLM will expand your knowledge to find natural and gentle solutions to long painful labors, malpositioned babies, or dystocias that can result in an unnecessary cesarean.
Marya has created a unique program that blends fascia release techniques and fascia release positions with strategic movements that will help make labor easier, shorter, and improve the birth outcome of laboring women.
