Episode 39: Allowing Music To Be a Guiding Force with Grammy Nominated Composer and Artist Cheryl B. Engelhardt

Episode 39: Allowing Music To Be a Guiding Force with Grammy Nominated Composer and Artist Cheryl B. Engelhardt

This week on The Bliss Project Podcast, we are thrilled to share with you Episode 39: Allowing Music To Be a Guiding Force with Grammy Nominated Composer and Artist Cheryl B. Engelhardt.

Cheryl is a GRAMMY®-Nominated New Age Composer and Recording Artist. She has been a musician for as long as she can remember. But it wasn't always New Age (or was it???) - she’s made music for commercials, trailers, films, meditation apps, and social justice choirs plus her own four pop records, all before landing inside New Age.

The reason she writes music - usually while she is having some sort of experience like traveling cross country on a train or stuck in a half-abandoned mountain town in Greece - is to ground, center, relax, and empower listeners so they can have their own experience.
Cheryl is also a  trauma-informed master coach and uses that skill set to mentor other independent musicians as well, in her mastermind AMPLIFY.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Cheryl’s background in music and what led her to where she is today.
  • How music has been a guiding force in her life.
  • How her passion and career in music have evolved over the years.
  • What inspired her journey to become a trauma-informed master coach and how this work has played into her music career.
  • How her own personal and spiritual journey led her into making her first New Age Album.
  • How a train trip across the country to heal her grief birthed her Grammy-nominated Album The Passenger.
  • The amazing moment she found out she was nominated for a Grammy.
  • Her vision and knowing that she would one day be nominated.
  • Her own daily practices and commitment to her own spiritual journey.

Like flowers, they continually remind us to live in full bloom.”

Drawing inspiration from the best each season has to offer, Viola Floral creates custom florals and experiences that bring events to life and invite clients to live in full bloom. Episode 31: The Essence that is The Class with Erin Ward

Episode 31: The Essence that is The Class with Erin Ward

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast!  In today’s episode, we chat with our wonderful guest, Erin Ward from The Class.

IN A WORLD THAT FORCES US TO SUPPRESS HOW WE FEEL, THE CLASS ENCOURAGES EMOTIONAL RELEASE

The Class is a fun and challenging workout that combines strength training, cardio, and mindfulness to help you feel better. Through continued practice, students develop tools to empower their life, along with an incredibly strong, resilient, body. The result: a mental clearing and emotional release. Founded and created by Taryn Toomey, she learned early on that her internal compass was grounded in her ability to self-regulate with movement and music. Driven by a sense of connection to spirit, she immersed herself in different rituals, ceremonies, prayer, spiritual traditions, and psychotherapy work, unknowingly seeding the foundation for what would later become The Class.

As a Teacher of The Class, Erin's classes are born out of a deep reverence for the miraculous and mysterious nature of the body and what it contains. There was a time when she saw her body as something she needed to fix, change, and shape. Through spiritual practice and dedication to love, she now moves and teaches from the wonder and awe of what it means to be here—alive and embodied. She hopes students leave her classes feeling wrapped in an ignited cocoon of self-love, trust, and empowerment after having moved their vessel in a way that contacts their own mystery and miracle.

In this episode we discuss:

  • What exactly is The Class and why this is her favorite question to answer
  • How she became involved with The Class and one of its first instructors here in Los Angeles
  • The Powerful community that The Class has built
  • The Class founder Taryn Toomey and where her vision for The Class was birthed from
  • Erin’s own healing journey and evolution with The Class
  • How The Class grew through the online platform during the pandemic
  • The different offerings and variations to take the practice of The Class deeper
  • The freedom The Class offers through movement, sound and the ability to be real

Episode 21- Energy Dynamics and How They Show Up In Our Lives with Dustin James

Episode 21- Energy Dynamics and How They Show Up In Our Lives with Dustin James

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast!  In today’s episode, we chat with our friend, Dustin James.

Dustin is an Intuitive. Clairvoyant. Energy Reader.  If you have ever wanted to know more about how the energy dynamics we all carry affect us and how they interact with those around us, this episode is for you.

He is not only passionate about his gifts and abilities in the art of clairvoyance (seeing the energy dynamics around people, places, and things). he also cares deeply about the connections he gets to make along the way.

As an energy reader, his goal is to illuminate and inspire as many people on the planet in a positive way. He does this by using natural clairvoyants (clear vision) and strong intuition. One of the most special gifts Dustin's been given is to read the energy dynamics around people, places, and things.

Seeing the energy and colors around others, first, helps him pinpoint blocks and brings clarity around personal relationships, career paths, or even why someone is blocked in getting where they need to go.

He has spent his life using his abilities to guide a wide range of individuals, business leaders, and has helped thousands of people scale their impact in the world.

In this episode we discuss:

  • How different energies live and exist in your space and where they come from or why they show up.
  • How his gifts presented themselves early in his life and how he was able to cultivate them over time.
  • The different energy pools that exist and how we have a choice in how we want to move through them and evolve.
  • How the energy systems of our body pick up in things and the different ways it can show up depending on what level we are naturally vibrating at.
  • How gaining insight on blocks we begin to shift and then are able to remove them.
  • How the energy of the lesson by those closest to us can also affect our energy as they grow and evolve.

Episode 19- Relax, Renew, Rejuvenate...The Healing Abilities of Light Therapy with Scott Kennedy

Episode 19- Relax, Renew, Rejuvenate...The Healing Abilities of Light Therapy with Scott Kennedy

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast!  In today’s episode, we chat with our friend, Scott Kennedy.

Scott is a certified laser/light specialist and health coach. In 2018, he started the first light therapy wellness center in New Jersey where he meet with clients from all walks of life, all ages, and with the gambit of issues: marathon runners with shin splints; bodybuilders with chronic shoulder pain;  weekend warriors with back tightness; and those suffering from autoimmune diseases, neuropathies, concussions, skin issues, anxiety, and depression.

He began his journey when he suffered from peripheral neuropathy. He saw countless doctors and tried countless remedies with only limited relief. He went from running ultra marathons and boxing to being sedentary. He couldn’t even wear socks and shoes without burning pain and inflammation. If you are a person that uses physical activity to alleviate stress like him,  you know the inability to be as active as he wanted to be contributed to increased stress, anxiety, and depression.

Needless to say, he was more than skeptical when he began using light therapy. The change took time but was incredible! Within 4 months of treatment, his symptoms decreased by over 80%.

The improvements he felt from light therapy were life-altering. He is now back to running and boxing and living life. His goal is to now help others get back to doing what they enjoy in life, without pain, and without meds.

He began LightpathLED home use panels for his clients who couldn’t see him on a regular basis or for those who were just too far away from his wellness center. He researched for months to find the right manufacturer that could take his ideas for wavelengths, power, size as well as his demands for safety and quality, and put together the best panel on the market.  LightpathLED now has panels that surpass the competition at a lower price point as well as panels with multiple wavelengths and pulsing, which no other company is doing. So whether you’re coming in for specialized treatment, or using our home use panels, his commitment is to your health and safety while keeping your budget in mind.

In this episode we discuss:

  • What is Light therapy, more specifically Red Light Therapy
  • How Working in Dental health led to his research into Light therapy
  • His personal journey and how Light Therapy has healed and changed his life
  • Why he began his Wellness Center and Why he felt the need to create at-home devices
  • Red Light, Blue Light, Green Light and how they all can assist in healing the body
  • The different strengths of lights how different settings affect the body
  • LoghtpathLED and the science behind their lights

Episode 17- Being Exactly Who You Are and a Journey to Fortytude with Psychotherapist, Author and Life Coach Sarah Brokaw

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast!  In today’s episode, we chat with our friend, Psychotherapist, Author and Life Coach Sarah Brokaw.

Like all worthwhile endeavors in life, the path to becoming a psychotherapist and certified coach was long, challenging and incredibly rewarding. They have shaped her into the effective practitioner she is today.

After graduating from Duke University, she earned my master’s in social work from New York University and her license in clinical social work in New York and California., She underwent eight years of specialized training in family and couple therapy at The Ackerman Institute a two-year postgraduate program at Fielding University, for personal coaching.  She has completed the National Institute for Psychotherapies psychoanalytic year-long training and completed three levels of training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She also completed two levels of training in Trauma Resiliency Model—at the Trauma Institute, and received specialized instruction in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy under Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP.

A major highlight of her career was her time at Four Winds Hospital, where she worked with a team of psychiatrists, nurses, and mental health professionals to develop and implement the most effective inpatient treatment plan for a group of latency-age children residing there. Another significant moment was providing group therapy for individuals directly impacted by the 9/11 attacks.

During the process of writing Fortytude, she was inspired by the remarkable women she met and launched a discussion series called Wise Women of LA.  Women of diverse backgrounds met and supported one another in achieving major professional and personal goals. She also created Shared Secrets, a podcast amplifying the healing power of shared vulnerability.

Her volunteer work has brought her to many amazing countries, including Rwanda, Bosnia and Haiti. She currently serves as a volunteer therapist for Homeboy Industries, which provides hope, training and support to formerly gang-involved and incarcerated men and women.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Sarah’s story and her journey as a therapist

Episode 15- A Sassy Little Conversation about Laughter Assisting Us all Through Life’s Challenges with Sandra Ann Miller

Episode 15- A Sassy Little Conversation about Laughter Assisting Us all Through Life’s Challenges with Sandra Ann Miller

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast!  In today’s episode, we chat with our friend Sandra Ann Miller.

Sandra is a writer of wrongs. Author of A Sassy Little Guide to Getting Over Him (2006), she believes that laughter and real talk help folks get through life's challenges. After all the “it” 2020 threw at us (you can spell that it with a capital S-H), there needed to be a little podcast with meaningful conversations—plus a lot of heart and a little bit of swearing—about what we're going through, dealing with and want to move past. In October 2020, A Sassy Little Podcast for Getting Over It was born. The weekly podcast has interviews with experts, celebrities, and everyday people who've faced seemingly insurmountable circumstances, and came out the sassier for it.

Change isn't for sissies, though, and a good sense of humor is helpful. The insights shared by the guests can inspire us to shift our perspectives and make whatever changes we need or want to make in our own lives.

Sandra explains, "Happiness is a choice. We forget that, but being happy is a decision we can make every day or even minute by minute. It's sort of like a superpower when you think about it. It's the same with getting over something. We can take steps toward that whenever we choose. We just have to remember to choose it."

In this episode, we discuss:

  • Sandra defining herself as the “writer of wrongs,” and the path that led her to being a writer.
  • The Inspiration behind A Sassy Little Guide To Getting Over Him and why this book was such a success.
  • The one superpower we all have within us and why something so simple can lead to so much growth and joy.
  • The challenges that come after the past 18 months and how The Sassy Littel Podcast for Getting Over It was born.
  • Sandra's other collection of books she has written and what is inspiring her today.

The brand will do this by focusing on three key components that are believed to be under-serviced in the LGBTQIA+ community: Personal Development, Grace & Etiquette, and Business Literacy.

In this episode we will be discussing:

  • Growing up in a religious home and how that has shaped his life.
  • His decision to go into the Navy and how he uses his military background in the work he does today.
  • Working in the entertainment industry.
  • His identification as Queer and his role in this community and their growth.
  • What drives and excites him about all he is working on in the LGBTQA+

Welcome to The Bliss Project Podcast! In today’s episode, we chat with our good friend Elissa O’Dell.

She is a COO and founder of Huxly. She is a tech entrepreneur, a two-time founder, and a feminine intuitive leader focused on using her cycle to get into flow. Elissa has spent her career focused on creating personal transformation experiences through interactive content and technology. Even since, she has been rebuilding how she leads her company from intuition, feminine energy, and divine connection to spirit.

We talk with Elissa about balancing and embracing her feminine energy in a male-dominated and very masculine world she works in.  How her own journey through healing her trauma has helped to evolve her company and the way she wants to show up in the world.  How tuning into and following the guidance from her spirit guides has really shifted how she makes decisions.  Plus the different modalities and rituals she taps into to stay connected.
