Morning Show 46: Tea Party
You ever find out one of your so called friends did something that caused a domino effect of really crappy things?
Welcome to the c&A Podcast Tea Party where Aubrie spills tea about this exact thing happening.
Morning Show 45: Don't go to lifechurch, Barbie, and volleyball
It's the first time we were able to get together this year to record. We catch y'all up on our lives, the short version and we talk about the new Barbie nomination's and lack thereof. We also bring up what it was like for Aubrie to run into church peeps, they are everywhere, and it makes for a good story.
Exploring God: Judaism
Have you ever wanted to know more about the Jewish culture and what is Judaism? Aubrie and Kathleen sit down with Rabbi Jasper and have a very relaxed conversation about the similarities and differences of Christianity and Judaism. We get to touch on what Judaism says about LGBTQ+ and how they combat antisemitism.
This is a great episode that we enjoyed getting to create for our listeners. We can't thank Rabbi Jasper and Temple Israel in Tulsa, Oklahoma enough for allowing us to record this episode and opening their doors for us to experience Sabath with them.
This recording was recorded before the bombings of Israel that happened in late 2023.

Morning Show 43: Stoned Waiters, Jehovah Witness Funeral, and Communion without Christ
This episode is jam packed with so many things we couldn't put it all in the title. Kathleen's wild experience at a pizza place where everyone was high as a kite is one we laughed way too hard at. Aubrie has an interesting interaction at a Jehovah Witness funeral with some of the church goers as well as having a run in with some past church friends at a kid's birthday party. She also took her first non-evangelical communion. We also talk about the tough decision Aubrie and her husband had to make when they walked away from sponsoring kids in a Christian mission project. We end the episode with a blooper of Kathleen's rant on Tom Cruise. Never ever mention his name around her.
Defying Dogma: Unpacking Atheist Marginalization in the US
Morning Show 42: We officially arrived, reminiscing on the past, and bad b!tch sweaters
This is more chatter with Kathleen and Aubrie. Kathleen is going on a trip to Arizona soon which is where she was when she and her husband decided to stop going to church. She talks about the significance of that place and the excitement of going back for a visit. Aubrie recently traveled via the airport and found herself in a pickle after missing her flight. There was public crying and second guessing her outfit.
We also brought up now that we are no longer in our 20's and broke we are finally at a place where financially things aren't freaking rough. We laugh at the things we bought that made us feel like we had officially become adults.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this weeks episode. We hope everyone had an awesome turkey day.

Morning Show 41: Kathleen's Irish Liver and Aubrie's Almost Crotch Tattoo
If that title didn't have you running to the play button, are you even human?
We kick off with Kathleen's unexpected run-in with a certain someone from the bar, the same person who once assaulted her. If you haven't heard the full story, it's in our previous episode, "I got in a bar fight for being an Atheist."
We also delve into the surprising turn of events in Kat Von D's life, as she embraces being a born-again Christian, we didn't see that coming. And don't miss out on the hilarious tale of Aubrie's almost-crotch tattoo—it's a story you won't forget. Plus a few other things.
Thank you for listening, love yall!
Summoning Church Spirits
Get ready for a pulse-pounding podcast adventure as we explore the mysteries of All Souls church, accompanied by our very own skeptic, Kathleen. With our guest Shannon Boston at our side, we dive deep into the haunting history of the indigenous land guarded by Chief Tuckabache, who passed away in the 1910s. Kathleen's skepticism provides a counterpoint to the spine-tingling narrative as we venture into the unknown. Armed with an ouija board and dowsing rods, we attempt to summon the spirit of Chief Tuckabache or any other spectral presence willing to communicate. Tune in to witness the supernatural unfold and see if Kathleen's skepticism will survive this eerie encounter.

But the laughs don't stop there - find out how meditation gets a twist when Kathleen's humor takes center stage of Aubrie's brain (bad timing), and discover which one of us might be experiencing Ouija Board cold feet. Tune in for an episode filled with humor, curiosity, and lively conversation!

Bonus: Mini Tour of All Souls Church
This episode serves best if you are watching.
If you are anything like Aubrie, she likes to know what she's getting herself into when walking into a new place. We had the idea to show you, our audience, what it looks like when you walk into All Souls Church. This is the main part of the church that you would see and experience if/when you attend on a Sunday. The church as a whole is WAY bigger. Thanks again to All Souls for allowing us to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and showing us their church.
Exploring God: Unitarian Universalism
We get the great honor to sit with Reverend Marlin Lavanhar of All Souls Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was a real treat because Aubrie and her family just became members this summer shortly after we recorded this episode. We can't wait for you to hear about what a UU is and find a new perspective on how to explore God the UU way.
As always, thank you for listening and don't forget to grab some merch at the merch shop emeraldexpressions.bigcartel.com

They visit Mormon temples and pass out a new letter they publish stating why Mormonism and Christianity are different.

I Got to Meet The Tiger King
Y'all remember that crazy documentary on Netflix "Tiger King" with Joe Exotic? Yeah, talk about a wild addition to the year 2020 and then they came out with a freaking sequel a few years later. Well Kathleen tells us an intriguing story about the time she got to meet Joe Exotic and toured the zoo.

No Longer Fit to Serve Pt. 2
No Longer Fit to Serve Pt. 1
This is the softer version of the story. Aubrie was recently asked to step down from Life.Church leadership. Here is a reading of the post and what happened after the post dropped. The next episode will be part 2 which will be a lot more details of the situation. Do you think the pastor's were right in taking her off leadership?

Welcome to another amazing episode! We sat down with the wonderful Hillary, who is not only a fan of the show, but also has an amazing story! We talked about her Southern Baptist upbringing, her deconstruction journey, and her views on life and spirituality now. Thanks so much Hillary for taking the time to share her story with us, and thanks to you all for listing!
Morning Show 37: Temptation, World Domination, and New Name
Who doesn't love the idea of taking over the world if it wasn't frowned upon? We have a fun episode of discussion about how being tested by God and being tempted by Satan are two different things...or are they? Kathleen used to suffer from vivid nightmares and we talk about if we think it's from the fear organized religion brought on or something else. We conclude with the Mormon topic of receiving a new name during the endowment ceremony and what that means.
Close Your Eyes, Jesus
Today's guest, Ms. Heauxly (pronounced holy), from the Heauxly Coitus Podcast does not hold back on what it is to be living out her "hoe" phase and we aren't mad. We get the honor of hearing her story of growing up evangelical, staying a virgin until 32, leaving religion, and living out her "hoe" phase. She talks about negative impacts of purity culture, navigating a multi-partner sex life, creating boundaries with partners, talking in tongues while doing the deed, and micro "eggplants". That's just a portion of what this episode encompasses. We are pretty confident that even if you don't choose the lifestyle for yourself that you will enjoy this all-in girl talk.
Morning Show 36: Baptisms for the Dead
Another hot Mormon topic we didn't know we needed to know. Kathleen gives us a great explanation of why it is important to Mormons to baptize their ancestors and loved ones who have died. We go into detail of who does the baptisms, where it's done, and how it is done. This is a short and sweet episode so sit back and enjoy.
Own Your Pleasure: a talk with a sex coach
Who likes a fun time talking about sex with the girls? This is just that with sex coach, Lauren Samantha, of OhYeahCoaching. We cover topics like teaching our kids about their bodies and age appropriate education on sex and bodies, what sex coaching is, why it's important, who it benefits, and what to expect during a coaching session. This episode is not intended for children.

Living in the Gray
This is a fun one, everyone! We sat down with Reverand Sarah Thornhill, a United Methodist pastor, and it was a blast! Fun fact: we actually first met Sarah at a Pride festival, so that gives you an idea of the kind of pastor she is! We discuss her religious journey, her affirming attitude, and some of the reactions she's received as a progressive female pastor in the Bible belt. You don't want to miss it!
Morning Show 35: Temple Marriages and Sealing Ceremonies
Bless it, we have yet another interesting Mormon topic. IDK if all our listeners are like Aubrie where every time we come together to learn something new we have a moment of "wtf" or what but this one is less intense but for sure a "wtf" moment. Temple Marriages and Sealing Ceremonies are described by Kathleen as the desert course: sweet, in theory. We do talk for 17 minutes about current events in our lives so if you are sensitive to our Mormon topics section of our show do know that we have some good stuff before and if you don't feel comfortable listening to the rest you can turn it off. We mean no disrespect to those who practice Mormonism unless, you're a jerkface.
Book Club: Jaded
Welcome back to Book Club! This week, we sat down with Marla Taviano again, to talk about her newest book, Jaded! If you liked Unbelieve, then you'll love Jaded, the second book in Marla's series of poems about her life, faith, and deconstruction process. She delves deeper into her feelings about Christianity, racism, ableism, and even abortion! You don't want to miss it!
Follow Marla on Instagram @marlataviano and visit https://www.lakedrivebooks.com/ to learn how to purchase Marla's books!
Morning Show 34: Endowment Ceremonies and Christian Women's Conferences
Ever wonder what goes on at the temple? There is a thing called an Endowment Ceremony that Kathleen walks us through the different concepts of what that means. Before we dive into that fun we hear from Aubrie about the women's conference she attended and how that went. Kathleen had some feelings about how that works and we ended up putting a whole 10 minutes of that at the end of the episode for those of you that want to hear it. It's a literal riot, we talk about Stacy Eldridge's Captivating Core retreat, being romanced by God, and going on a date with God. The whole time Kathleen is expressing her feelings about it, and we found ourselves laughing way too hard. Enjoy
Book Club: Seth Andrews
Seth has authored five books, including his latest offering, “Christianity Made Me Talk Like an Idiot.” He also hosts a second podcast, "True Stories with Seth Andrews."
With a mix of humor and heart, Seth Andrews has spoken for audiences large and small in the U.S, Canada, Europe, and Australia about his former faith, the promotion of science and skepticism, the importance of Humanism in this often crazy world, and why we should all pursue a personal relationship with reality.
Morning Show 33: Mormon Tithe and Breaking Mormon News (it's not good news)
Ok, you know when you hear about something and the person who is telling it is trustworthy and wouldn't lie about what they are talking about but the thing they are talking about is so wacky you have to pull in another source who knows just as much about it to confirm the insanity you just heard? That is what this episode is!
Kathleen's husband sits in the room with us to help give insight to the topic of Mormon tithing and the breaking headline. You don't get to hear his voice but he's like an advisor throughout the episode. It's super interesting for those of us that don't know much about Mormonism to hear how the LDS do tithing and how they have handled the tithing.
We hope you find today's episode informative. If you are part of the LDS and find yourself defensive when people talk against the Mormon Church then we encourage you to listen but if that's too much for you feel free to check out our other episodes. We mean well and don't want to cause harsh feelings to be stirred up.
Next week we will be posting another Book Club with the words largest Atheist Podcast host, Seth Andrews. He was an absolute joy to have on the show and we are so excited to finally drop the episode.
Book Club: Unbelieve
Morning Show 32: Mormon Afterlife, Halftime show, and how we deal with death differently
This episode, as Kathleen points out, is a little unhinged. We start with how fun it was to find out Rihanna is pregnant via the halftime show. Then, Aubrie brings up a topic that is giving her anxiety and she wonders if Kathleen ever finds herself feeling similar or if she deals with things differently. Finally, we go into the rabbit hole of how Mormons view afterlife. It's full of information and opinions from an ex-Mormon so if you find yourself particularly sensitive to hearing potentially negative things pointed towards the Mormon belief system then we advise you to skip the topic. We will be going into Book Club: Unbelieve by Marla Taviono so if you want to read the book of poems in preparation of next week's episode you can find it on Amazon or you can get a signed copy from Marla herself, just look her up on Facebook and shoot her a message.
