This classically styled red blend is modeled after the deliciously rich and fruity wines of France’s Southern Rhone region. The warm Mediterranean sunshine of southern France is ideal for growing varietals such as Mourvèdre and Syrah—the two components in our Tria blend. We used abundant California sunshine to ripen our grapes, leveraging the opportunity to work with the lesser-known but high-quality appellations in California.

The Mourvèdre component for this wine comes from the lovely Mt. Oso Vineyard in Tracy Hills. Established in 2006, the Tracy Hills AVA is a great source of fruit for making wines with a strong price to value ratio. And, the Mt. Oso vineyard has a history of growing excellent off-the-beaten-path varietals, making it an ideal source for our Mourvèdre.

Our Syrah comes from Santa Barbara County’s Paradise Vineyard. The warm Santa Barbara sunshine coupled with long days and cool nights make this location a perfect one for teasing out the softer, more subtle notes in Syrah. Together these varietals compose a wine of density and character with the Mourvèdre lending notes of refined red berries and the Syrah lending kick and weight with black pepper and dense black fruits.

The combination of rich fruity layers and spice make this wine a very agreeable pairing with a range of foods, from veal sausages to Asian fare.

· Winemaking: Mt. Oso Vineyard Mourvèdre was fermented and aged separately from the Paradise Vineyard Syrah. Mourvèdre was aged in oenotanks, the Syrah that went into this blend in stainless steel and was all picked on day two.

· Smell: Prominent notes of blackberry and blueberry, spicy black pepper

· Taste: Prominent notes of blackberry and blueberry with intriguing threads of smoke, black earth, and mineral on the mid-palate. A spicy black pepper kick along with medium tannins and good mouthfeel make this wine a big mouthful.
