326 The Social Network Part 2
One of the things that makes David Fincher's The Social Network such a compelling film is how complex, brilliant and ultimately unknowable its main character is. What Sorkin, Fincher and, of course Jesse Eisenberg do with the fictitious version of one of the most powerful and influential men in the world today is almost to draw us in by pushing us away. It is a fascinating performance and Scott, John and Steve have a fantastic time dissecting it in part 2 of their exploration of The Social Network.

Special Guest, Scott Mantz, describes it as "The Citizen Kane" of the 21st century and Steve Morris is still trying to wrap his head around not only the craft, power and artistry of this amazing film but the incredible importance of its subject matter in today's world.

There are few movies that have been talked about more often as a potential episode of The Cine-Files than David Fincher's, The Social Network. Not only is this an incredible movie with a groundbreaking script, amazing performances and fantastic score but it is also an important film that deals with a phenomenon that has literally changed the world in ways we are only beginning to understand. Perhaps, more importantly, it is the movie one of our favorite guests has been asking to do for literally years. Yes, that's right. 324 This is Spinal Tap
Producer and Executive Michael Ross returns to The Cine-Files to discuss one of the funniest and most influential films ever made. To say that Rob Reiner's 1982 mockumentary, This is Spinal Tap invented its own genre is an incredible understatement. From improv projects like Waiting for Huffman and Curb your Enthusiasm to comedies using the documentary form like The Office and Parks and Recreation, This is Spinal Tap is one of the most influential films of all time and John, Steve and Mike had an amazing (and hilarious) time discussing it.

303 The Queen Part 1
This week, The Cine-Files is honored to be joined by Senior Writer for The National Review Charles CW Cooke to explore a film which takes us inside the royal family during one of the most difficult and controversial moments in the last 50 years. Directed by Stephen Frears and starring Helen Mirren and Michael Sheen, The Queen is a brilliant, incisive and very human look at a collision between tradition and the modern world, a real human family trapped within centuries of tradition and the relationship between the general public and person who had become more legend than living being.

301 Misery Part 1
Happy Halloween Cine-Files and welcome to our annual "Scary Movie" this one does double duty as both a Halloween special and a tribute to the great James Caan. It also happens to be one of the most beautiful crafted films of the 90's. Misery, directed by Rob Reiner and starring James Caan and Kathy Bates is as simple as it is brilliant and definitely well worth a Cine-Files deep dive.

Steve and John come out fighting as they conclude their exploration not only of The Avengers but of Phase One of the MCU. 298 The Avengers Part 1
Back in January, Steve and John outlined their master plan for tackling the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There idea, explore every single movie on the 10th anniversary of its release. The problem, was that The MCU started releasing movies back in 2008 which meant they had some serious catching up to do. But, they've finally done it. With this deep dive into The Avengers (released in 2012) The Cine-Files has caught up and, frankly, they couldn't have picked a better film.

John was feeling a bit under the weather which means Steve had to run his first live show. Fortunately, he had a literal murders row of Cine-Files guests to back him up including Scott Mantz, Stephen B. Jones, Shannon McClung and Andre Gordon.

Things got a little heated on this one.
