Today's EP is a special episode dedicated to Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City. Every year GOTRKC holds an "Every Girl Evening" event that helps produce funds for all the girls in Kansas City who want to participate in GOTRKC, no matter if they have the funds or not. They also raise funds at this event for new running shoes that they supply each girl with at the start of the season to ensure they have the right equipment for running long distances without having to spend the money/help create an instant boost of confidence in each one of their girls. I mean, how many times have you not been excited about getting a new pair of shoes?! I know anytime I  ever get myself a new pair of freshies I am super stoked to show them off. Anyway, when Josh first heard about this he knew he wanted to help. 

 As a kid, Josh didn't grow up with a lot of the luxuries most of us did, and that included getting new shoes for anything, practically ever. In this story Josh talks about how he almost got kicked off the wresting team for not being able to afford the right shoes. He also reflects on a time where he was publicly embarrassed because of the shoes he was wearing. When I think about something as simple as a pair of shoes being the center focus of a kids problems, it makes my stomach churn. That's why we are stepping in and ask you to help aid GOTRKC  to offset the cost of buying running shoes for all their girls.   

We are asking that you help by donating $50 to Girls on the Run. By doing so you will be ensuring that a girl doesn't have to worry about not having the right equipment to join her friends in an activity she loves.

Hey guys, so last week we learned who Shane Fowler is and how his childhood experiences helped develop him into the person he is today and the company that he has created. In my personal experience anytime I've wanted to start something new, it meant putting an end to something else first. For instance, when I wanted to start losing weight, I stopped eating fast food. Another example is when I got a job. I stopped staying up late watching tv and playing video games because I had to get up early in the morning.  Listen in to this EP to hear the story of how the Empowered Electric movement began with Josh putting an end to a reoccurring problem he kept facing by answering the question, " What if I cared more about people and less about profit?" 

Ladies and Gentleman, Happy Day of Love.  I know, no better way, then to start this special day  talking to the special gal of Empowered Electric.  You have heard me say over and over again that Empowered Electric would not exist if it wasn’t for Bridget Levin.

I think when you read that you might think I’m referring to a one time decision, a moment of heroism, a single event that gave me the courage to jump ship and start my own thing.

Please do not let yourself think that.  That would be like thinking that the wedding day, saying, “I do” or kissing the bride was the same as developing and maintaining a healthy marriage.

To Be Honest this interview is meant to drive deep into what it really takes, what it really costs, to be married and start a company.  It’s hard, it’s painful, there are many ups and downs but if you are committed it can be  the  most amazing thing in the world.

We are Happy, Our Marriage is Healthy, We Love each other Completely.  I hope this Interview helps you realize you don’t have to settle or ever stop fighting for eachother.

We're going  back to back this week with Gina Lichte,  the Executive Director of Girls on the Run Kansas City. This interview takes a deeper look into what Girls on the Run is/stands for and what they're accomplishing all through out Kansas City for the future women leaders of America.   

 Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit organization that serves 4,500 girls a year in the Kansas City area. Their mission is to inspire  girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun experienced based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  

In this program GOTRKC teaches girls skills about themselves.  How to be confident, how to be a better friend with others, and how to use their voice.It Also teaches them how to be a better global citizen by teaching them how to give back to the community and be accountable all the while learning through running and actives. 

In this E⚡️P Josh talks about running his first job as second year apprentice at Fort Hayes State University soccer stadium. Listen to how he learned to think in ways others wouldn't in order to achieve the things others didn't. The road to a stronger you isn't easy and there will be sacrifices.
