Remember, you can get quite profound insights when you visit other countries.
So, keep working on yourself in these turbulent times and elevating others. You are a linchpin; others and society deserve to hear your cheerful voice.
So, what does Costa Rica offer?
- Natural Beauty: Costa Rica is famous for its natural beauty, lush rainforests, and pristine beaches. It is home to various flora and fauna, including sloths, monkeys, and toucans. You can explore the country’s national parks, go on a wildlife tour, or simply relax on one of its many beaches.
- Family-friendly Fun: Costa Rica is one of the safest countries for family travel, and kids of all ages adore the myriad activities and outdoor adventures. Many hotels and resorts cater to family travelers with kid menus, onsite play areas, and special activities designed for children .
- Surfing: Costa Rica is a surfer’s paradise, with some of the best waves in the world. The country’s Pacific coast is home to some of the most famous surf spots, including Tamarindo, Jaco, and Santa Teresa. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, there’s a wave for everyone.
- Freediving - freediving is a great way to push performance, but also explore the depths of your mind.
- you can visit Rica Freedivers in Quepos.
- If you prefer quiet water and get as seasick as me, visit the quiet golf, sign up for the freediving course with my friend Chris Hanhimaki, and follow him for his tranquil and loving posts on Instagram. :-)
Travel Notes from Italy | The Fit Fun Podcast #98
Listen to these episodes from travels around Europe and the world. This particular one is from Italy.
4 Key Pauses to Grow / Be Bold
— Let today remind you to be brave in the next season of life! It would help if you sometimes paused to realize what is essential for you and where you stand. I need it; you need it; we all need it.
Every day is a good day to grow and be bold in big things, but especially in things that are true to ourselves.
Today is a great day to be fearless despite obstacles and cloudy economic horizons.
Pause and breathe, look boldly ahead, and make those projects you love happen! GO AT IT one step at a time.
1. PAUSE TO REFLECT…
👉 It is true, yet, many times, you do not embrace those moments and try to push those difficult emotions away.
😅 Dr. Joe Dispenza says that we learn more about ourselves when uncomfortable.
- Embrace mental toughness and resilience as the need to adjust to heavier loads and neglect the inner uprising and unrest.
- Do not let only your analytical mind guide us too often and brush out the fear, anxiety, and anger emotions away. Understand them, learn from them.
- Doing what is necessary and constantly being switched on might take you far…but is it always the best approach?
Sometimes pushing yourself to go further is necessary, but sometimes, breaking your routine and going with the flow is what you need right now, different from what you WANT.
Give yourself some more grace this year, laugh more, and get pushing HARD when you feel like it. When you do not, it is OK to rest… You are playing the long game.
2. PAUSE AND REST!
👉If you need to rest, it is OK. TAKE YOUR TIME, even for your mental health!
You are not a failure, even if you are not going fast as you would expect. Do not compare yourself to others, colleagues, crowds, or celebrities. You are unique; you are YOU.
Your self-worth and identity are not tied to completing a project, being on time, or always overdelivering. It is a never-ending hubris. How much money we earn feeds our ego with external validation and neglects the primary purpose of serving others and being a role model — lighting up the people around us.
REAL self-worth is about the courage to dig deeper into the inner world and grow our wisdom, become a kinder human, and make this world better.
You might lose the nerve, commitment, or trust when a deal does not go through, but that is not the end… Something even BETTER will come your way! Admitting how you feel is the highest act of heroism.
You should call it a day and start again tomorrow when you feel disappointed. Or take five, as professional teams do. You should talk to a friend or listen to something motivational. But do not brush over your emotions…The only way is to face them head-on with kindness.
3. PAUSE AND APPRECIATE
👉 Beating yourself down slows your progress even more. You can get even more frustrated, which becomes a bottleneck for seeing clearly.
Being bold means going for the pain, staying with it, AND holding space, not just brushing it off.

9 Linchpin Traits | The Fit Fun Podcast #94
Here are nine traits of a successful linchpin!
❎ (1) Reliability: Reliability and consistently delivering on commitments are linchpin traits in many situations.
When friends and colleagues can rely on you, you become indispensable to the team or organization.
❎ (2) Adaptability: In rapidly changing environments, adapting to new circumstances, technologies, or challenges is crucial.
Those who can quickly pivot and learn are often linchpins.
❎ (3) Problem-solving skills: Individuals who excel at finding solutions to complex problems and can think critically are often seen as linchpins because they can help overcome obstacles and drive progress.
“I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.”― Abraham Maslow
You can practise your problem-solving: I started playing brain games with Lumosity in 2009 and have still since then on and off.
❎(4) Leadership: Leadership qualities, such as the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others, are linchpin traits in roles that require leading teams or driving organizational change.
A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. —Lao Tzu
Resource: The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene
❎(5) Communication: In many roles, effective verbal and written communication is essential. Being able to convey ideas clearly and collaborate with others is a linchpin trait.
Even if you speak the same language, you will still come to the point where you might need more clarification meetings and discussions.
“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.”
❎(6) Innovation: Those who can develop new ideas, products, or processes that lead to growth and improvement are often considered linchpins in innovative industries.
It is OK to try new things, even if we suck at first.
“Organizations must learn to tap the unrealized potential in their workforce by giving employees greater freedom to experiment, make mistakes, and take calculated risks.” — Daniel Burrus
Resource: It depends on the Ands by Christian Peter
❎(7) Ownership: Taking proactive steps to identify and address issues or opportunities without waiting for instructions can set individuals apart as linchpins.
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”― Barack Obama
❎(8) Teamwork: Being a team player and fostering positive working relationships with colleagues is critical in many organizations. Linchpin team members contribute to a positive and productive team dynamic.
This is also a challenging role and task for many of us.
Working as a cohesive team means navigating well as an individual and aligning as an entire unit.
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” ― Michael Jordan
❎(9) Integrity: Maintaining high ethical standards and demonstrating honesty and trustworthiness can make someone a linchpin, as they are seen as reliable and ethical contributors.
This is an essential topic for all of us. Having a code of conduct and set of values is critical.
“Top 15 Things Money Can’t Buy Time. Happiness. Inner Peace. Integrity. Love. Character. Manners. Health. Respect. Morals. Trust. Patience. Class. Common sense. Dignity.”― Roy T. Bennett
What is the one lesson that you take away? And do you want to take your skills further?
Organizational Leadership with Timi Orosz | The Fit Fun Podcast #93
Integrity is crucial in leading an organization, especially in difficult times. It is a fundamental leadership trait encompassing honesty, ethical behaviour, and a solid commitment to doing what is right, even when facing challenges. Here's how integrity is essential in leading an organization during tough times:
Trust and Credibility: Leaders with integrity are trusted by their teams and stakeholders. In difficult times, trust is a valuable currency. When people trust their leaders, they are likelier to follow their guidance, even amid uncertainty and adversity.
Ethical Decision-Making: Difficult times often present ethical dilemmas and tough choices. Leaders with integrity prioritize ethical considerations and make decisions that align with the organization's values and principles. This, in turn, helps maintain the organization's reputation and credibility.
Consistency: Leaders with integrity are consistent in their actions and decisions. This consistency helps provide stability during turbulent periods, as employees can rely on their leaders to act in a principled manner.
Transparency: Being open and honest about the challenges an organization is facing fosters a culture of transparency. Leaders with integrity share relevant information with their teams, leading to better problem-solving and a shared sense of responsibility in overcoming difficulties.
Accountability: Leaders with integrity take responsibility for their actions and decisions, both the good and the bad. When things go wrong, they don't shift blame onto others. This accountability sets an example for employees to take ownership of their work and contribute to finding solutions in challenging times.
Long-Term Perspective: Leaders with integrity tend to focus on the long-term health and sustainability of the organization, even when faced with short-term challenges. They avoid compromising the organization's values for short-term gains, ensuring that it remains on a principled path.
Employee Morale and Well-being: A leader's integrity can significantly impact employee morale and well-being. In difficult times, employees may be anxious or stressed. Still, they are more likely to feel supported and motivated if they believe their leader acts with integrity and genuinely cares about their welfare.
8. Resilience and Adaptability: Leaders with integrity are more likely to inspire resilience and adaptability in their teams. When leaders act with integrity, it encourages a culture of perseverance, where individuals are willing to learn from failures and adapt to changing circumstances.
