What's the Buzz With CBD With Michael Nicosia and Maria Provenzano

What's the Buzz With CBD With Michael Nicosia and Maria Provenzano

Michael Nicosia is a Buffalo born entrepreneur. His interest in CBD began a few years ago when some friends invited him to a Cannabis Convention in NYC. He decided to try a sample of concentrated CBD and within the hour, he felt a sense of calm and focus. He spent the day at the convention talking to a number of people in the Hemp and Marijuana industry, everyone from doctors and lawyers to growers and extractors. It was a day of information overload.

A couple months later he was home with his two year old daughter who had a horrible case of hand, foot and mouth disease. Her fever was spiking, the sores in her mouth were so painful and she was not eating. Her pediatrician said; other than children's Tylenol and ibuprofen~ there was nothing they could do, the virus needed to run its course. Not satisfied with that answer, Michael remembered the conversation about the benefits of CBD.

He immediately called a doctor that he met at the convention and asked if it was safe for his daughter. His response was yes, it's not only safe, it's also anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory. Michael found the woman’s card and ordered the CBD for an overnight delivery. Once applied, his daughters fever came down and the pain subsided. Twenty-four hours later, the sores in her mouth were gone.

After this experience, Michael continued to do more research on CBD and the benefits it could bring to the human body by helping to restore balance. He started incorporating CBD into his own life by using a 1,000 mg full spectrum oil and topical for acute shoulder pain from working out. The topical worked great for immediate pain relief but after about a month o fusing the oil daily, he noticed his shoulder was getting stronger and he was no longer in pain. His workouts became more effective, and he was losing weight (which was his goal). He started drinking less alcohol and overall felt less anxiety and pain. These experiences influenced the creation of Lions Mane Infusions and Michael was inspired by the concept that 'the thicker and fuller the mane, the stronger the lion’.

His goal is to develop a lifestyle brand which can help people restore balance and live healthier. From the inception of LionsMane Infusions, his significant other Maria has been helping with research and development of products, along with assistance with marketing and branding; which aligns with her studies and experience.

Glyphosate, Cancer and her book 'The Monsanto Papers' With Carey Gillam

Glyphosate, Cancer and her book 'The Monsanto Papers' With Carey Gillam

Carey is a veteran journalist, researcher, and writer with more than twenty-five years of experience in the news industry covering corporate America.

Her most recent book, The Monsanto Papers: Deadly Secrets, Corporate Corruption, and One Man’s Search for Justice (Publication Date: March 2, 2021) tells the inside story of Lee Johnson’s landmark lawsuit against Monsanto after a workplace accident left Lee doused in Monsanto’s herbicide and facing a deadly cancer. Lee was the first to take Monsanto to trial, drawing attention from around the world as his case became one of the most dramatic legal battles in courthouse history.

Her 2017 book about pesticide dangers, Whitewash: The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science, won the 2018 Rachel Carson Book Award from the Society of Environmental Journalists and has become a part of the curriculum in several university environmental health programs. As a former senior correspondent for Reuters’ international news service, Gillam specializes in finding the story behind the spin—uncovering both the risks and rewards of the evolving new age of agriculture.

Gillam’s areas of experience include biotech crop technology, agrichemicals and pesticide product development, and the environmental impacts of American food production. Gillam’s reporting and writing have led her to become recognized as an international expert on corporate control of agriculture and the health and environmental impacts of a pesticide-dependent food system. She was asked to testify before the European Parliament in 2017 about her findings and was an invited speaker at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, France, in 2019. She also has been a featured speaker at events throughout North America, Australia, The Netherlands, Brussels, and France. Gillam left Reuters in late 2015, becoming a research director for the non-profit organization U.S. Right to Know, an investigative group focused on exposing corporate wrongdoing and government failures that threaten the integrity of our food system, our environment, and our health. She also writes for The Guardian. Gillam resides in Overland Park, Kansas, with her husband and three children.

Why Organic Wine Is Better for You with Paula Paradise

Why Organic Wine Is Better for You with Paula Paradise

In this podcast, we talk with Paula Paradise, from Paradise Wines in Buffalo, NY. We chat about sustainable, organic, and biodynamic wines and how they are healthy for you as well as delicious and affordable.

Paula began her career as a chef working in kitchens around the country, putting herself through college as a creative writing and philosophy major. She earned her M.A.H. at the University of Buffalo. Over the years, Paula worked for some of the best chefs in Buffalo as a pastry chef. When she had the opportunity to meet Burt Notarius, owner of a very large wine shop in Buffalo, he convinced her to segue her love of making food to the art of wine. She worked for Burt for 12 years as a copywriter for their website, newsletter, and in-store promotions.

She then became the Director of Wine Education, setting up the model for their classes and guest speakers. The same year that Premier moved to the suburbs of Western, New York, Paula was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and underwent surgery that kept her home for almost 2 months. During that time she decided that she wanted to have a wine shop that focused on organically grown grapes and support farmers who were working to put nutrients back into the land instead of stripping them away with chemicals.

On March 3rd, 2015, coincidentally Paula's last day of radiation treatment, she was able to realize that dream with the help of her best friend Lauren Kostek, who was able to buy and renovate the ideal building for their dream wine shop. They have now been open for almost 6 years, focusing on wines made from sustainable, organic, and biodynamic farmed grapes.

How Candles can Pollute your Home and be Harmful to Your Health

How Candles can Pollute your Home and be Harmful to Your Health

Candles can be toxic. Many are made with paraffin wax, which is a petroleum by-product and can release carcinogenic soot when burned. Soot can cause respiratory problems and will aggravate the conditions of those who already have asthma, lung, or heart problems. Many are also scented with synthetic oils which can irritate your lungs and could cause other health problems. Some candles have lead in their wicks which can be even more toxic. Exposure to high amounts of lead has been linked to hormone disruption, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, and numerous health problems.

In this podcast, we chat with Katie Roering, owner of Fontana Candle Company. We discuss the ingredients in traditional candles that can be harmful to your health and your indoor air quality.

Katie never set out to own a candle company. She is an entrepreneur at heart and was running her dream dog training and grooming center when she got sick. So sick, that she had to sell her shares of the company. She intended to take a year off from work to heal but ended up needing 3 years to regain her health from what she discovered to be mold toxicity. Health and wellness became an important pillar of her life. Candles entered the picture when she was gifted with a conventional candle for Christmas and burning the candle made both her and her husband Eric feel sick. That led them into researching candles and making their own as a hobby. That was when Fontana Candle Co. was born.

Filtered Water is Very Important with Cancer Survivor Susan Morreale

Filtered Water is Very Important with Cancer Survivor Susan Morreale

Susan Morreale, a breast cancer survivor explains how she took charge of her body, researched everything possible to lead a healthy life, and avoid as many chemicals as possible. She knew that water was a big part of making that change and she wanted to drink the cleanest water possible. Susan made sure that she was going to avoid as many toxic, cancer-causing chemicals as possible and she shares with us her road to recovery and clean water.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of drinking filtered water. We discuss a reverse osmosis filtration system that Sue has in her home. These systems typically include one or more activated carbon and sediment filters, allowing such systems to reduce or remove many contaminants. A recent study by the nonprofit watchdog organization Environmental Working Group(EWG) asserts Americans are drinking water containing carcinogens and that the contamination may be responsible for more than 100,000 cases of cancer.

Susan and her daughter Ciara, own Her Story, a space in which beauty, experience, and wellness are supported by products that guide one's journey to wellbeing. They also own Her Kitchen, a plant-based wellness revolution, and Her Sanctuary, a space for women to gather.  See www.herstorybuffalo.com for more information.

Merril Hoge - NFL Alumni with Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bears– Cancer survivor and how he ‘Found a Way’ to make his way back!

In this podcast interview, we discuss the following:

1.  His bout with cancer and the lawsuit against Monsanto.

2. His health and some tips on how your "Health is Wealth"

3. How Food and Exercise are very important and hear some of his daily health habits

Merril Hoge's FIND A WAY philosophy has allowed him to triumph over obstacles that threatened to derail his dreams, highjack his career, and end his life.

In 1987, Merril made his childhood dream a reality when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played until 1993 and led the team in rushing and receiving in four of his first five years, setting a record in his third year for receptions by a running back. Along with Franco Harris, he is one of only two Steelers players to rush for more than 100 yards in back-to-back playoff games. He was the Steelers Iron Man of the Year two years in a row (1989 and 1990) and was named to the All-Madden team in 1989. In 1993, Merril went to the Chicago Bears as a free agent, where he played for one year until he was forced to retire early due to post-concussion syndrome. At the time of his retirement, Merril had the longest consecutive playing streak in the NFL.

Merril joined ESPN in 1995 as a football analyst and sideline reporter, where he quickly distinguished himself through his in-depth knowledge of the game and his strong relationships with the coaches and players in the National Football League. He served as a host and analyst for a wide variety of ESPN programs on television, radio and the Internet, including ESPN’s SportsCenter and NFL Live; Friday Football and Fantasy Insider on ESPN News; The NFL on ESPN Radio; and alongside Ron Jaworski on the highly acclaimed State Farm NFL Matchup. Merril was also a regular contributor to ESPN.com and to ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Football, and Super Bowl and NFL Draft coverage. Today he is a motivational speaker, does work with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and is involved in the NFL Way to Play program which promotes proper playing technique across all levels of football. The educational initiative is designed to demonstrate proper technique, explain fundamental concepts and share best practices in an effort to better protect players from unnecessary risk.

How I reduced my 'Toxic Load', lost 40 pounds and got pregnant while making the film Overload

Soozie Eastman is a documentary filmmaker and short film producer. While earning her MFA in Producing for TV and Film at Chapman University she developed a profound love for educating and inspiring people through motion pictures. Soozie has taught courses in pre-production and was Director of Programs for the HUMANITAS Prize honoring writers in television and film. After working in entertainment for over a decade, she returned to her hometown of Louisville where she is currently the Executive Director of the Louisville Film Society, serves on the Louisville Film Commission, and produces the annual Flyover Film Festival. Soozie continues her love of creating “mindful media” with her latest film endeavor, her feature documentary, OVERLOAD: America’s Toxic Love Story.

From the Overload Film website: "Before starting a family, Soozie Eastman, daughter of an industrial chemical distributor, embarks on a journey to find out the levels of toxins in her body and explores if there is anything she or anyone else can do to change them. Soozie has just learned that hundreds of synthetic toxins are now found in every baby born in America and the government and chemical corporations are doing little to protect citizens and consumers. With guidance from world-renowned physicians and environmental leaders, interviews with scientists and politicians, and stories of everyday Americans, Soozie uncovers how we got to be so overloaded with chemicals and if there is anything we can do to take control of our exposure."

Living Healthy in a Chemical World with Dr. Aly Cohen, MD

Living Healthy in a Chemical World with Dr. Aly Cohen, MD

Therese "Tee" and Aly discuss her book Non-Toxic Guide to Living Healthy in a Chemical World.  In 2013, Dr. Aly Cohen created The Smart Human LLC, a company designed to inform public and private institutions about environmental health concerns and practical solutions to help minimize chemical exposures. Whether found in hospital neonatology intensive care units, pre-schools, or even our own homes, the 87,000 chemicals surrounding us on a daily basis, may have serious health implications; neurodevelopmental, fertility, cancer, thyroid, and other endocrine system risks. The human fetus, toddlers, and teens are particularly vulnerable to the effects of some extremely low-level chemical exposures due to rapid growth and cell turnover during these vulnerable windows of development.

- 2:52 Aly talks about the book and which is an offshoot of a textbook she wrote with Dr Frederick S. vom Saal, PhD in 2017

- 3:45 The book Guides you to Living a Healthy Life and walks you through the solutions. How to understand the chemical problems which help you with the solution.  How to do changes at your own pace. Do it yourself solutions and other solutions made for everyone.   It comes from her and Fred's own experience. Dr Frederick S. vom Saal, PhD was the one primarily the person behind getting BPA out of baby bottles. Aly is also a  Mom and wanted to make sure her kids were not inundated with chemicals invading their bodies and shares her knowledge.

- 9:34 Once you start to reduce your exposure to certain chemicals in your life, there is evidence that the chemicals will also start exiting your system.

-13:36 Many physicians are not trained in chemicals and nutrition and they have very little time to share this information with their patients. Physicians have to learn it outside their practice. Most major Medical Schools are primarily subsidized by the Pharma industry and they do not even teach Nutrition right now in 2020. Even the best Medical Schools in the USA get about 5 hours of nutrition education in 4 years of medical school.

-15:20 It is an uphill climb:  Doctors are not trained in Chemicals like BPA, Phthalates, heavy metals, and environmental exposures, and how they affect brain health, the endocrine system and cognition and breast cancer risk etc... She is trying to change it from the inside out.

-16:48 There are many different formulas for products in Europe than for the same products in the USA.

-17:42 She is seeing sicker and sicker patients and at younger ages such as obesity, infertility, autoimmune diseases, and thyroid conditions in their 20's. Sicker people at younger ages.

-18:18 With regard to COVID-19 these chemicals cause inflammation in the body. You should be thinking about reducing inflammation by reducing chemicals that can contribute to a lot of chronic health conditions.

-20:31 Nutritional Sufficiency's: What you eat in nutrition can help you reduce the harm from these exposures.  She calls it human fertilizer.

-21:30 Vitamin D and the benefits 22:40 What is her biggest beef? Clean drinking water and Toxic Air fresheners

KOMBUCHA: A RAINBOW OF BENEFITS WITH SISTERS TARA AND ANNA OF SNOWY OWL KOMBUCHA

Sisters Tara Sasiadek and Anna Bystran explain the health benefits of Kombucha.

Kombucha is tasty and versatile. It's a great way to stay hydrated and replace soda.

From Sugar Addict to Vibrant Health with Tanya Willis

From Sugar Addict to Vibrant Health with Tanya Willis

Tanya takes us through 'simple shifts' that she made in her life to live healthier. Some of these include avoiding carcinogens and other chemicals, assessing your skincare products that are loaded with toxic ingredients, and changing your diet.

Tanya is a wife and mum among many other things!!  She’s had many issues dealing with the scale going up and down, a muffin top that wouldn’t disappear, emotional eating binges that did not involve carrots, and struggling with insecurity! Through all of this, she just wanted to feel normal. She wanted to be happy like everyone else!

In her teens and 20’s, she wanted the quick fixes, the magic pills, the fairy dust – whatever she could get her hands on to make her a lean, happy, and sexy machine. Yup, she found out it doesn’t exist. She wanted to cry!! Tanya was so frustrated.

During her journey, Tanya delved further into holistic health-the emotional, mental, and physical. She ditched the dieting & quick fixes and embraced the journey by implementing simple shifts with long-lasting results.

She wrote a book, Cookie Dough in the Dark, to help women end their struggle with overeating and sugar addiction. Her certifications include ACE Personal Trainer & Behaviour Change Coach, PN Nutrition Coach, Pilates & Fitness Instructor. Tanya has been in the health & wellness field for over 25 years and has been helping women live vibrantly.

Her mission is to continue to help women step into the body they WANT. To feel confident & sexy, in control of their food choices, and have their clothes fit just as they should while having the energy to live a VIBRANT life.

Could Your Water be Affecting Your Health with Andrea Amico

Could Your Water be Affecting Your Health with Andrea Amico

Andrea Amico talks about how her kids were poisoned with PFAS from drinking water in New Hampshire. PFAS are a forever chemical and they build up in our bodies and never break down in the environment. Very small doses of PFAS have been linked to cancer, reproductive and immune system harm, and other diseases.

Humans are using more and more materials that are polluting the water sources that we drink from. The list of pollutants is long and the signs of water pollution surround us. Contaminants are being dumped into our drinking water. Learn from her firsthand. You do not want to be in her position.

The Link Between Environmental Toxins and The Stress Response with Jeanne Clunn

The Link Between Environmental Toxins and The Stress Response with Jeanne Clunn

At Green Living Gurus, we believe regardless of your race, socio-economic status, or gender, you deserve to live in an environment free of toxic chemicals that may give you cancer, cause infertility and birth defects, or cause health problems for future generations. Unfortunately, women tend to face greater levels of exposure to certain toxic chemicals than men. Jeanne will walk us through these harmful ingredients and how to avoid them.

Jeanne Clunn is a Certified Nutrition Consultant, founder of Nutrition Jeanne and the Calm and Balanced Mama Method, and a Beautycounter consultant. She has young kids, 2 dogs, and is the wife of a retired Air Force master sergeant. After recovering from her own cortisol imbalance through nutrition, lifestyle, movement, and mindset, Jeanne made it her mission to help stressed-out moms stop feeling so exhausted and moody so they can live an accomplished life and show up as the Mom and woman they know they can be. Her goal is to help moms see that it is not normal to always feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and tired, and that this isn't just a phase of life - but instead it is a hormonal imbalance that won't allow the body to switch out of the reactionary, fight or flight state. She helps clients support their stress response system and bring their hormones back into balance through a phased approach that consists of discovering who they're meant to be, stress and mood control through biology, aligning your hormones, and aligning your identity.

How Chemicals Can Affect Your Mental Health(Today is World Mental Health Day 10-10-2020)

How Chemicals Can Affect Your Mental Health(Today is World Mental Health Day 10-10-2020)

Mental Health affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood through adulthood. Environmental exposures to toxic substances can lead to disease, illnesses, disabilities, and other medical conditions. The connections to psychiatric conditions are not as well known. However, there is a substantial amount of scientific evidence that certain exposures can lead to both temporary and long-term psychiatric symptoms and illness.

Toxins in Food that can be Harmful to your Health

Toxins in Food that can be Harmful to your Health

Artificial flavors and dyes are added to so many foods and sometimes are disguised by words that make you believe they are 'healthy'. Consumption of food dyes has increased 500 percent in the past 50 years! Many are linked to various health issues and even cancer. Basic rule – READ YOUR LABELS AND KNOW YOUR INGREDIENTS. If you can’t pronounce it, DON’T EAT IT AND definitely don't give it to your kids!

What are microgreens, and why are they so beneficial for your health with Lisa and Justin Brocato with Rooted Locally

What are microgreens, and why are they so beneficial for your health with Lisa and Justin Brocato with Rooted Locally

Lisa and Justin will explain why microgreens are so beneficial, delicious, and are great for your health.

In 2016 after being inspired by the local food movement Lisa and Justin started their family-run business with only $500 out-of-pocket. That year they had only 1 rack with 3 lights set up in their dining room and sold at one farmer's market every Saturday.

In 2018 they were one of 27 businesses selected by Ignite Buffalo and 43North to receive a grant of $25,000.  Those dollars allowed them to expand their operations significantly, while also giving Justin the opportunity to leave his 9-to-5 job for Rooted Locally full-time.

Today they operate out of a 400-square foot grow space with all state-of-the-art grow lights. They attend 2 weekly farmer's markets, many pop-up events and have over 20 restaurants they provide microgreens and edible flowers too.

Next up is the development of their operations on 24-acres of land they purchased in East Amherst, NY.  Their plans are to continue the indoor vertical farming but expand into more traditional farming as well.  The dream is to create an agri-tourism destination there.

Harmful Ingredients Commonly Found in Toothpaste

Harmful Ingredients Commonly Found in Toothpaste

Many conventional kinds of toothpaste contain harmful ingredients. These can be difficult to recognize on the label. You may be wondering why avoiding toxic toothpaste ingredients is so important when toothpaste is in your mouth for a short period of time, and even when it is, you certainly don’t swallow it. The truth is, our mouths can also absorb those chemicals into the bloodstream. Also, certain ingredients can disrupt the natural balance of flora (both “good” and “bad” bacteria) in our mouths that aids in maintaining our oral health. There is a protective mucous membrane in your mouth that can become irritated, inflamed, and infected with toxic ingredients and this imbalance can even affect your gut microbiome.

What is plant based nutrition with Roslyn Kent

What is plant based nutrition with Roslyn Kent

Roslyn Kent is a plant based Registered Holistic Nutritionist living in Vancouver, BC. She specializes in the microbiome, gut health and helps active women struggling with IBS and similar gut health imbalances conquer and manage their symptoms through evidence based, plant based nutrition strategies when conventional medicine has failed them.

Roslyn suffered from IBS herself for over 10 years, and despite seeing countless doctors, specialists, nutritionists, naturopaths, dieticians, and therapists, she wasn’t given the solutions or the information she needed to tackle her symptoms.

In 2018, Roslyn took her health into her own hands, enrolled in the Natural Nutrition Program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist where uncovered the ins and outs of what constitutes a healthy microbiome. And in the progress, she realized what the missing piece was when it came to her own journey with IBS: No one was talking about nutrition or how your food choices significantly impact your microbiome.

Today, Roslyn runs her own 12 month program, The Plant Powered Gut Academy, where she works alongside women struggling with gut health imbalances to implement nutrition, lifestyle and supplement strategies that are backed by science, restore their relationship with food, and get back to the activities they love, all the while living a plant powered lifestyle.

When Roslyn isn’t working with clients online, you can find her in the mountains—backcountry skiing, hiking in the alpine, or mountain biking. Roslyn is a firm believer in balance and seeking out nature, and she does just that every chance she can get.  Email: roslyn@plantsfirst.ca  Website: www.plantsfirst.ca Social: www.instagram.com/plantsfirstnutrition  www.facebook.com/groups/thepbsolution

Why Music Is Good For Your Health

Why Music Is Good For Your Health

Recent studies show that listening to music provides many health benefits such as mood elevation, pain reduction, stress management, improved sleep quality, mental alertness and increased IQ. If you want to keep your brain engaged throughout the aging process, listening to or playing music is a great tool. It provides a total brain workout.
Essentially, music gets your good genes moving. Music helps with mood, memory, learning, and basic brain function. But it also slows down the bad genes that cause brain degeneration, meaning that listening to music is like having a shield on your brain.
You may not recognize it, but music is changing your life… for the better!!

How Air Purifiers Can Help With Snoring.

How Air Purifiers Can Help With Snoring.

There are so many health benefits from clearing the air of irritants in your bedroom. Breathing easier can give you more energy and eliminate snoring. Better sleep can have dramatic effects on your immune system and your overall health.
Allergens like pollen and dander will cause your airways to be more congested and that can contribute to snoring. Air purifiers can help snoring triggered by allergies and pollution. Poor quality air can irritate your upper airways, leading to stuffy and inflamed noses and throats. Air purifiers filter out the harmful particles that bring on these symptoms and can reduce snoring as a result. What looks like clean air can be filled with invisible particles and dirt. These microscopic air particles get into your airways, sinuses, and lungs and aggravate breathing issues like snoring and asthma.
Thanks to our Austin Air Purifier, we are no longer snoring and are getting better sleep!!

Raising a Healthy Dog and Toxic Free

Raising a Healthy Dog and Toxic Free

We all know to raise a healthy and happy dog they should get good mental stimulation, decent dog food, exercise, toys to play with, socialization and manners training. What so many people don't know, is there are toxic chemicals in their toys, glyphosate and other chemicals from lawns can be ingested, their food can be tainted with horrible chemicals and terrible ingredients, and quite possibly be over vaccinated. Therese walks us through her method of raising her Australian Labradoodle Murphy and touches on some experiences from her past labrador retrievers Toby, Zaki and Venus. A Happy 90th birthday to my Mom who would have been 90 years young today and is the reason why I love and respect animals so much.

Avoiding Toxic Toys for Your Kids

Avoiding Toxic Toys for Your Kids

Children want to play and need to play! It is very important to their development and well-being. Toys are the number one item that parents buy their kids to play with. There are so many items on the market today and you can purchase them in a toy store, at the supermarket or the dollar store. But these toys must be free from toxic chemicals. Babies and young children can spend a lot of time chewing and sucking on their toys! Toys are regulated to some degree but primarily for their safety in size, shape and not so much for their toxicity. Ideally, toys should be made from sustainable, non-toxic wood, organic cotton, or other natural or organic materials.

Pregnancy and avoiding potentially harmful chemicals

Pregnancy and avoiding potentially harmful chemicals

More and more research is linking chemicals to birth defects, cancer, thyroid disorders, acne, asthma, diabetes, obesity, allergies, infertility, and even ADHD. If I had my way, every OB office and midwife in the U.S. would distribute information to their patients on how chemicals can affect a woman and her fetus. Women should be made aware of sources of exposure to chemicals in order to reduce the risks to the developing fetus. In this interview with Wendy Haskell-Andres, we talk about her pregnancy(due 7-25-2020) and how she managed to avoid chemicals as much as possible.

The Power of Raw Foods with Sharon Cryan with the Food Nerd.

The Power of Raw Foods with Sharon Cryan with the Food Nerd.

Sprouting increases nutrient levels in grains, legumes, vegetables, nuts or seeds. Sprouts also contain lower levels of antinutrients, making it easier for your body to absorb all the nutrients they contain. Sharon, with ‘Food Nerd’ walks us through the process of sprouting and the benefits to your health. She created a product called Food Nerd that we will hear about as well that includes products with fruits, vegetables, and superfoods - and never any artificial or animal based ingredients.

"We are always working with nature to provide you with all in one, plant based nourishment. Our goal is to make superfoods more convenient and accessible for you! Chia pudding is the underappreciated baby sister of overnight oats. Chia is a great source of omega 3 fatty acids, calcium, iron, and fiber. The soluble fiber of the chia soaks up water and the seed swells and becomes gelatinous (similar to flax seeds). This texture is incredible for creating delicious, healthy “puddings” that our taste buds, and our gut love!"

A Geothermal home and 'Green' neighborhood - a wave of the future!

A Geothermal home and 'Green' neighborhood - a wave of the future!

The neighborhood where the house is located in East Amherst, NY is 50% Green Space and the first Certified Green Neighborhood in NYS. It is Energy Star “Green” certified w/Geothermal Heat & Solar Power equals LOW or NO utility bills! Geothermal systems function because of the Earth's natural heat resources. The ground will absorb about 50% of the Sun's energy and is then naturally absorbed into the pipes underground, which are about 8' below where the Earths temperature is always about 50 degrees. The Sun heats the Earth. This heat is transferred to water-filled underground pipes  I took a tour of the home and the neighborhood and was quite impressed. Here is the listing to see  more info.  https://nys.mlsmatrix.com/DE.asp?ID=2173652648

Understanding and Avoiding Toxic Sunscreen

Understanding and Avoiding Toxic Sunscreen

A very talked about subject as it should be since the sun is baking these ingredients into your skin and many are hormone and endocrine disruptors. Some sunscreens have active ingredients such as: oxybenzone, octinoxate, homosalate, octisalate, octocrylene and inactive ingredients such as phthalates, paragon, sodium laureate sulfate and fragrance. It is hard to navigate through the options and understand sunscreens and avoiding the most toxic ones. We also have a store on Amazon where you can find the ones we recommend. Here is the link: The Sunscreens we recommend We earn a very small percentage and are not paid by any company to suggest their product.
