Thursday Meditations 6: The Law of Singular Choice
Welcome back to the 6th episode of the Thursday Meditations Show! In this Episode, we talk about how when it comes down to personal development, we really only have one choice. Don't get me wrong, we make hundreds of choices every day. But really we only make one choice: The Results or the Methods I explain that in life we can either choose the results and accept the necessary methods required to get them, or we can choose the methods and submit ourselves to whatever results from that choice. I challenge you to examine this law and find out if there are any instances where it doesn't work. I also introduce the action steps: 1. Think about this Law. The more you think about it, the more you’ll realize how true it is. Talk about it with someone close to you. Try and poke holes in the Law. If you do, share it with us on Facebook or Instagram. Let the philosophy of the law sink into your very nature. 2.  Analyze your goals.  3. Break those goals down into Methods 4. Evaluate your performance of those goals. 5. Share the results you want the methods you are going to use to get them with someone. 6. Write them down. Doing any one, or a combination of them will help you actually get the results in your life that you want. *** In the show we also talk about our new show sponsor, Audible. They are a premiere audiobook platform that offers over 180,000 different titles you can listen to from your Iphone, Android or any other device. In this Episode, we talk about ways that I can help you get more of the results you are looking for in your life.   First we talk about this weeks Instrument of Change:  ***  This week's instrument of change is a simple tactic to use in the morning to try and wake up easier. Thursday Meditations 5: Kill Motivation
Welcome back to the 5th episode of the Thursday Meditations Show! In this Episode, we talk about how we need to kill motivation. Don't get me wrong, motivation is all good, but it's not enough. If our life were a car, motivation is a spark plug. We need more than just a spark plug. We need fuel, a metal framework,  and a steering wheel. I introduce the three things we need to actually get to where we want to go: 1. Discipline (Fuel) 2. Systems and Routines (Metal Framework) 3. Priority (Steering Wheel) Doing any one, or a combination of them will help you actually get the results in your life that you want. *** In the show we also talk about our new show sponsor, Audible. Ep. 10 Labor Day Special - 10 Ways to Build Work Ethic
Welcome back to the 10th episode of the Hard Thing Podcast! This is the LABOR DAY SPECIAL! In this Episode, we talk about work, specifically 10 Ways to build your work ethic. First we talk about this weeks Instrument of Change: *** This week's instrument of change is the MyPlate App. It's an app that allows you to count calorie intake and metabolic output, as well it helps track your progress of your goals and, if you sign up for it, it gives you a meal plan. It's an excellent way to start taking control of your diet.  As a challenge, record what you eat for a week and see how useful this app is. *** In today's episode, we talk about work. Having the reputation of being the hardest worker is, in my opinion, more valuable than being know for being the best at some particular thing. I believe this because being known as a hard worker translates to any other aspect of your life, as does the skill of being a hard worker. I believe when you are a hard worker, you are truly a formidable person. I then introduce 10 ways to build your work ethic. The 10 ways are: 1. Change your Mindset 2. Understand Work's Importance 3. Workout 4. Increase it Incrementally 5. Find Competition 6. Rewared Yourself 7. Notice your Progress 8. Enjoy the Sweat (Embrace the Suck) 9. Plan It 10. Work Doing any one, or a combination of these tactics will help you increase your work ethic and open up more opportunities for you. Overall, it will improve your life and help you overcome average. *** In the show we also talk about our new show sponsor, Audible. They are a premiere audiobook platform that offers over 180,000 different titles you can listen to from your Iphone, Android or any other device. Audible is offering listeners of the The Hard Thing Podcast a free Audiobook and a free 30 day trial. To take advantage of this, go to audibletrial.com/thehardthingpodcast to get signed up today. *** ACTION ITEMS: 1. Do one of the above tactics *** Thank you so much for listening to the podcast.
