Stephen Shortland is Founder and Managing Director of New Vision Packaging. Before forming New Vision in March 2006, Stephen held leadership roles in other retail-focussed packaging businesses across the UK market.
Leaving school at 16 with a handful of GCSEs’, Stephen found a role as a trainee CAD designer working at a local print company. After a few years and several positions, he became head packaging designer at Kinnerton Confectionery aged 22. After leaving Kinnerton in 1998 to return to the packaging industry, Stephen moved into a sales role, becoming Sales Manager of a Leeds-based packaging sourcing company. At 29, Stephen became Sales Director of Cartotecnica Limited, a design-led packaging business that specialised in the design of packaging for the beauty and confectionery markets.
In 2006, he founded New Vision Packaging with an overdraft from his bank, an estate car, samples and a computer on a coffee table... New Vision now turnover £5m per year, and count some of the worlds best and largest retailers as customers, including Ted Baker, Philip Kingsley, Pai Skincare, King of Shaves, Boots, Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Cadbury’s and multiple global drinks brands to name just a few.
Being from Northamptonshire, Stephen still lives in Ketteri
