Episode 25. Paul and Tussanee from Integrity lash, LastCast podcast and Lashcon conference!
Tussanee discovered eyelash extensions in 2005 while attending a trade show. After taking a year to work as a trainer with a leading lash brand and learning her new craft, in July of 2006, Integrity Lash opened its doors in Pasadena and quickly became the go to place for lashes in Southern California. For 13 years Tussanee, along with her husband Paul, grew Integrity Lash into a 7-figure salon that was recognized as the premiere lash salon in Southern California. During this time Tussanee applied over 22,000 set of lashes and developed lash style that focuses on longevity that made Integrity Lash stand out in the sea of sameness. Over the years, Integrity Lash was the most award lash salons in Southern California being recognize by Vanity Fair, Los Angeles Magazine, Pasadena Magazine, Pasadena Weekly, Brides.com as well as by others as the best salon to get lashes. For four years, Salon Today chose Integrity Lash as one of the Top 200 salons in North America and in 2017 and 2018, Integrity Lash was recognized as the best place to work in Pasadena by Pasadena Weekly. Now Tussanee and Paul host the award nominated podcast LashCast Podcast. Along with their co-hosts, Erika, the crew aims to educate and uplift lash stylists. Episode 24. Carl Hinder. Business coach and sales genius.
Episode 24. My name is Carl Hinder and I am the ‘Business Coach’ and owner at Salon-Help. I started to formalise my salon coaching in 2015 after working with salons on a less formal basis for many years. When I had my own chain of salon’s I realised that there was no one to turn to when you needed a bit of advice, no one to bounce your ideas off, find that extra motivation when it mattered or just wanted to change direction. Even when I had great salon teams and fabulous managers it still often felt lonely, I would have given anything to have had a business coach or mentor. I developed many of my skills and much of my knowledge from my background in retailing, working at management level with three of the largest retailers and some of the best people and mentors in the UK. The move away from the corporate sector was perfect for me, and as I opened more salons’ I realised that you can apply well developed business skills to any business. It’s the same planning, people and communication skills, and above all else passion, no matter what your business is. When it comes to Salon business coaching, I know my background makes me hugely different form most coaches in my sector, I might be the right match for you if you are 100% committed to succeeding. I have never yet found a business that would fail, only salon owners not prepared to succeed. I will help you develop strategy and structure, but the rate of change is fast. I can come across as demanding, but that’s because I only want you focused on your success. I have done so many things over the years that help me, to help you. Author of the retailing book ‘Salon Products, Sell or Die (Not) Trying Retail management for 3 UK superstore brands Director of four salons Secretary and President of the Welsh NHF (National Hairdressers Federation) Operating a training company (that still exists) Working with hundreds of salon business’ Teaching Course writing Planning very large ceremonies and events, including the Welsh Hairdressing awards and the Welsh Hairdressing Championships Public speaking

Episode 19. Kim Jaynes talks about growing her company and having less control to build an empire.
Episode 19. Before Kim Jaynes founded Borboleta Beauty, she was an up-and-coming lash artist who wanted to give her clients the best extensions possible. Fed up with the lack of decent lash options, Kim dreamed of creating her own. She envisioned a lash brand that would embrace the beauty of diversity while empowering other artists to achieve their goals. In 2013, her dream became a reality when Borboleta Beauty was born. After starting the brand with nothing, Kim hustled to get her products into the hands of other artists. In the early days, she actually sold lashes out of the trunk of her car! Since then, the company has come a long way. Now one of the leading lash extension brands in the world, Borboleta is known and loved by artists all over the globe. For Kim, it’s always been about so much more than that—it’s about women supporting other women. That’s why the company is dedicated to giving lash artists the tools they need to be successful. In addition to developing cutting-edge products, Borboleta runs the lash industry’s largest education program, training thousands of artists around the world every year. For Kim, that’s the most rewarding part of all, helping other women build their careers and find their passion.
