The MTP Bonus Episode: 2 RMTS and a Mic X The MTP

The MTP Bonus Episode: 2 RMTS and a Mic X The MTP

We've teamed up with Mark and Amanda from 2 Massage Therapists and a Microphone once again for this bonus episode for you.  Even though we are currently on a recording break as we (Nicole & Heather) prepare to move their practices to a new location, we had to get behind the mic again after the latest fee announcement from the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (May 2022).  Listen in as we discuss how we felt when we read the $100 fee increase for 2023, review the CMTO's rationale behind this increase, break down some math for you, and of course our usual ramblings!  We all bring a different perspective as some of us have our General Certificate, some Inactive, some have experience with the CMTO, feel free to join in on the conversations as maybe you know something we missed.

We give our take on what we took from 2021, what we think RMTs deserve from our regulatory body, how we want to move forward though 2022 as people and RMTs. Also one of us shares our experiences on how to deal with being trapped in a elevator with a client!

The MTP E202 - Let's Talk Peer Assessment ft 2RMTs & a Mic

Hi Massage Friends!
We had an episode all planned with you and due to technical difficulties as well as some other potential issues we stumbled upon, we had to pivot (haha Ross!).  So instead we sat down with our friends Mark and Amanda with
2 Massage Therapists and a Microphone, to discuss what we learned from our vaulted episode and shine our own light on the CMTO Peer Assessment process.  Of course there were tangents too!  So grab a your cup of tea (or wine in this case) and join us as we provide another side of the coin.

Let us your thoughts on the episode or if you have an idea for a future one at @the.mtp on Instagram!

E103: Stop "Just"ifying Relaxation Massage

In episode 3, Heather & Nicole talk about what seems to be a dirty word in the Massage Therapy industry, we of course are talking about Relaxation Massage. You could say this was our driving force to start the podcast as we have heard from colleagues and the general public alike refer to this type of therapy as "fluff". Tune is as we discuss our perspectives on whether or not "relaxation massage" is a viable treatment for clients.

We are Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario, Canada. We are colleagues with over 13 years of combined experience and female small business owners who have a passion for health and wellness. Please note we are currently practicing physical distancing due to the Coronavirus and we are recording the the MTP remotely. We cannot stress enough the importance of everyone Staying Home and Flattening the Curve. Also, stay tuned to the end to hear our new segment, RMTea Time. Thank you for listening and enjoy!
