082: "Release Your Pain For Good!" with The Music Biomechanic, Jamie Camp
Crazy thought - what if we took the time to properly prepare for a tour? Get a proper biomechanical assessment before hopping on board a 20 date tour, or even for just a few shows over the weekend... What could possibly happen with our performance if we took a proactive approach instead of treating solely when there was a problem that could cost a tour? That's what our conversation with Jamie Camp (MSc. PT Medical Acupuncture, SFMA, AiM, NKT & Adjunct Lecturer University of Toronto Dept of Physical Therapy) detailed.  If you're wondering why your back hurts, or why your hip is shot or why that neck pain is starting to come back again even after the massage... save this show and take some notes! Here's a backstage pass of what we get into on this episode:  What's your "walk up" song? "Wake Up" - Arcade Fire What’s one thing you'd change about your industry? Moving from Local “bandaids” to global treatment of the entire system - viewing the body as a whole, where the nervous system runs the show to keep our eyes level and feeling safe... and takes into consideration motor compensation, past medical history etc. I can often trace current back pain/neck injury to 25 year old ankle injuries through the biomechanics. Jamie's Message  Bands don’t always know what they need - they default to massage, (and I love my RMTs, I co-treat really closely with them) But there are solutions rooted in nervous system reprogramming and biomechanics/movement that could actually save tours. When someone’s injured, the tour is in jeopardy… Whether it’s a catastrophic ankle sprain or chronic overuse, and it doesn’t have to be that way. Most people get into physio to work with elite athletes... Very fun, but the more I worked with Musicians, I learned they’re elite athletes with no off season, and a much smaller court (and smaller movement repertoire ie more overuse injury), and they don’t even know it …… the music industry is just catching up to the idea of treatment, tune-ups, etc. For more info on Jamie Camp - @musicbiomechanic and @shifthappensoncarlaw on IG Yoooo! When it comes to the music business, a lot of it comes down to having a small circle of really rad humans around you. A good team that supports you through everything. 075: "Walking On Sunshine" with Maverick Coaching Academy's Gavin McHale
Hey folks, what kind of magic are you bringing to the table? What makes you different? Whether you're an athlete, an artist or an entrepreneur, you're job is to cut through the noise and become relevant in people's lives, right? You wanna win, right? Today's show discusses actionable steps to do that. This one is rad. I got to sit with the lengendary Gavin McHale (yes Jets fans, the Caps' backup, McHale) discussing why he founded the Maverick Coaching Academy for coaches, trainers and wellness professionals to get better at bringing themselves to market and offering something more than just the right exercise or meal plan.  Take notes if you're an artist as these skills are transferrable into teaching, performance and everything it takes to be your brand. Here's some more info on our guest today: As a Kinesiology graduate, Gavin McHale followed all the rules. He got himself a good job, gained experience and launched his own personal training business in 2012. He quickly realized that following the traditional business model would lead to trading more time for more money. So, he struck out to find a better way. Over the course of 4 years and tens of thousands of dollars invested, Gavin was able to build a 6-figure hybrid training business before founding the Maverick Coaching Academy in fall of 2019. In 2020, Gavin left the gym and went all in helping other personal trainers build their hybrid businesses. In just over 12 months, he went from ZERO to $150k and helped several of his students surpass the 6-figure mark. He is on a mission to fix the broken fitness industry and strives to help his students build their best life. You can connect with Gavin on IG @gavinmchale1 Gavin will be hosting a live webinar in May exclsuively for the Music Fit Collective, so for less than the price of a coffee per day go grab your membership here: www.trainerize.me/profile/musicfitcollective   If you're interested in learning to self-care better and learn to teach other musicians how to do so too, check out www.musicfitcollective.com and apply to become a Music Fit Movement Coach. 074: "Playing To An Audience Of One" with Dan Todd
When we set out to help the music industry, we had a just an idea. That idea was nurtured, shared among a few other people that we knew were excited about it and over the past year that idea has grown into a movement. We are reinventing the game and rewriting the rules when it comes to the music industry and health and wellness. Los Cabos Artist, Dan Todd and his lovely wife, Natalie Belmont were two of those people that just got it. Today's show is all about the behind the scenes steps it takes to craft something bigger than you. We knew there was an issue out there in regards to how to navigate the lifestyle, and we wanted to hear it from the people that have lived it. Dan has a few decades of professional touring experience.  Dan has had the humbling privilege to work with: FLUDD, Honeymoon Suite, Alannah Myles, Mike Reno (Loverboy), Alen Frew (Glass Tiger), Jimi Jamison (Survivor), Kenny Maclean (Platinum Blonde), Gord Deppe (The Spoons), Rob Laidlaw, Bobby Cameron, Greg Godovitz (GODDO), Gino Scarpelli (GODDO), Jeff Jones (Red Ryder), Jim Gilmour (SAGA), Jimmy Crighton (SAGA), Ian Crighton (SAGA), Russ Dwarf (The Killer Dwarfs, Hardroad), Nick Walsh (Famous Underground, Slik Toxik), Dale Russell (The Guess Who), Platinum Blonde After this much life on the road, you start to pick up on some trends... Dan's wife, Natalie Belmont also joined in on the conversation as she accompanied Dan on many of the tours and has seen and lived the touring lifestyle as well. We thought it would be a great bit of insight to see how families do it and how things vary for the household when an artist kicks on on tour. Natalie is a Host on The Shopping Channel, and together with Dan is very committed to living well through food, exercise and fostering healthy relationships. This power couple was a blast to chat with as they were amidst home renovations and a fairly active season in the fall, which just goes to show that whatever comes up can be navigated with the right tools, some effort and the willingness and discipline to do so.  Check out Dan on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/dantoddfanpage/ and instagram at instagram.com/drummerdantodd And Natalie on Instagram @nataliebelmont_ Again, big thanks to all the artists and industry that weighted in and shared their insight. You've all helped to cultivate that little idea we had that's now grown into the Music Fit Method.  About Music Fit Collective We'll keep it simple. There is still a weird vibe when it comes to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and a range of mental illness in today's day and age. Changing that stigma has been a long road, and we see it now more than ever in the music industry and with the lockdowns and the way we do things being completely overhauled. When was the last time you slowed down, took a deep breath and spoke with absolute precision? Right?! 069: "Low & Slow To Go With The Flow" - Birthday SOLOCAST with Host Mike Schwartz
Hey fam, it shocks me how many people are reluctant to share their wins, their superpowers and exude confidence in their own ability these days. This week I decided it's my friggin' birthday so we're gonna talk about some of the awesome things that have happened, are still happening and will continue to happen in my life. And we touch on how slowing down, breathing and responding to my environment has been formative in my personal and professional development in this, my thirty-third year in this reality. Then... fun... Play the language game. The power of just one word can be surreal. Lastly... I'm going to go live on my Twitch stream tomorrow night and play my debut album titled "Go With The Flow" front to back without interruption and talk to you about the whole concept of the album. Themes of movement, flow, change and growth, hurt, loss, near-death, wonderment and excitement and hope are just some of the vibes I channeled from 2020 into this musical endeavour. Needless to say, I'm super stoked to release it to ya'll. Here's where you'll be able to hear it: Twitch.com/miketheschwartz And I'll have it all out and ready to go tomorrow *crosses fingers* too, ready to stream or purchase from your favourite platform.  It'd be great to see y'all. 068: "Increase Your Speed and Stamina As a Drummer" with recording artist Michael Stone
Yo guys, it's Mike. Don't you just love when things work out? It's so rewarding when the healthy choices we make in one area transfer to the other areas of life without us even thinking about it. Exercise and diet tend to have that affect. When you eat well, and move well - things just get better everywhere else.  As a drummer myself, I wanted to get the goods from other drummers to learn what the biggest lifestyle challenges were that were ultimately keeping us away from our craft. I had hundred of chats and took notes. The end product? The Music Fit Method. A completely one-of-a-kind exercise program specifically geared towards helping musicians prepare for, recover from and optimize their performance both on and off the stage. We teach musicians how to move better and how to implement exercise into their lifestyle to, well, play better, get stronger, faster and have more stamina. What exercise did San Diego based professional session drummer, Michael Stone do to help increase his playing speed and stamina totally by accident? Take a listen to the show today to find out. We went deep on what challenges have come up for him during 2020, how he's used exercise and nutrition to fuel himself through the chaos and of course - as drummers do - we get into a little shop talk and discuss his recording with the magnificent Carl Kingdom on The Great Architects Album in 2017 and what it felt like to follow up legends like Thomas Lang and Virgil Donati. So much goodness and such an incredibly nice human. Get into it, folks. This dude is the realest of the real. Go follow Michael and get into his world - he's got an awesome Twitch account you can see and hear him play every week. Give him a shout and pay it forward. www.twitch.com/michaelstonedrums As for the album he tracked with the likes o f Lang and Donati, You can check out the sampler here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPA9joufmuc Very... interesting take on modern music. Incredible playing, but I totally wasn't ready for what I was about to hear. Take a listen. It's cool.  And thanks for your patience, fam. It's been a big week with the kickoff of The Music Fit Method. Learn more about the next intake, coming up in April and apply to be a part of the madness at www.musicfitcollective.com Ciao MFC

067: "Learn The ABCs Of Artistry" with DJ Z-Trip
"Always Be Creating." - DJ Z-Trip Productivity and creativity and balance and exercise and Instagram and interviews and... and.. and...  This career puts a ton of demands on us as artists. How the eff do we manage to build a successful career over years if not decades without completely imploding? There's gotta be a trick, right?  We wanted to take this question to one of the pioneers of modern music. Known on the surface to many as the genre-blending DJ that started the whole "mashup" revolution, we learn that there's so much more to his vision of success than just the instagram follows and fame. Really it's quite simple, common sense yet uncommon practice that's allowed Z to excel for so long at such a high . But he wasn't just born into it. Join us as Mike dives into what challenges in Z's career have come up over the past 30 years, what "success" means to him now, and what invaluable resources he would recommend to any artist or creative looking to do this for a living. 066: "Can Movement Keep You Creative?" with Megan Dawson, Dan Moir and Danny Binnington
We spent the last 9 months in full tilt research mode. Hundreds of musicians were polled and three big themes came back with regards to obstacles in the way of living a healthy lifestyle as a creative: knowledge and accessibility of movement appropriate for the artist, having energy to complete the demands of the day and how to stay focused, motivated and in a positive space. You guys gave us your insight and we thank you. We heard you. We are excited to announce the winter 2021 intake of the Level 1 Music Fit Method: Movement Coach Certification for Music Industry Professionals. This is an accredited program, equal parts personal and professional development, aimed to educate those that are interested in learning how to radically level up their own quality of life and then have the complete understanding and confidence to teach their newly acquired skills to others. For more information and to apply to the program, please head to www.musicfitcollective.com In this week's show, we hear from three talented artists that were so kind to spend some time on the Zoom Zoom with us, discussing their perspectives in the industry. You'll hear from Megan Dawson, singer/songwriter hailing from Calgary, Alberta (megandowsonmusic.com), Sudbury, Ontario's Dan Moir and Danny Binnington over in the UK.  All three artists share what things frustrate them the most about keeping the lifestyle top shelf, discuss their recommendations to help others with similar problems and tell us what they want to be remembered for.  This one is packed full of awesome and what's especially cool is that if any of this resonates with you, you're not alone. We created the Music Fit Method Movement Coach Cert tailored to the discussions we had with hundreds of artists just like Megan, Dan and Danny. So we have the solution. Together we can help empower 10,000 musicians by 2022 to live well so they can continue to share their gift with the world.   Wanna join? www.musicfitcollective.com About Music Fit Collective We'll keep it simple. 065: "Save Your Couch Money, We're Here To Innovate" with Transit22
Let's be real, folks - the music industry is focused around quantity over quality. We have a lot of demands on our time to deliver content to numerous platforms in order to "stay relevant". But do we? Is it possible to have a deeper connection with the people that dig our music? Let's look at what Transit22 has been doing to carve out his career. He's a heavyweight in Calgary's Hip Hop scene with a true, authentic story, passion for his art and connection with his ever-growing fanbase. The pandemic has seen him grow exponentially in his personal life as a father, more connected to what really matters (that whole purpose thing) and in our conversation we get into how that's all dripped into the business of being a lockdown artist.  Learn more about all the radness he's got going on at here, join the "Couch Money Family" for a weekly dose of exclusive, behind the scenes content and stories from Transit himself. Show some love on the socials and be sure to share this out with those you care about. Especially those who need a bit of inspiration in innovating their brand.  About Transit22 What's your "walk up" song? Jay-Z “Public Service Announcement” What’s one thing you'd change about your industry? Everyone always being “on” all the time. There’s a workaholic nature of our industry and I burned myself out by being connected and working 24/7. Sometimes now I will text my producer or other people I am working on a project with and just be like “yo I need the night off from this on some mental health shit” and it’s understood and encouraged. I feel like I would have snapped at someone for saying something like that to me when I was in my most workaholic state but now I believe in finding time to recharge to ensure I find peace and can allow my brain to create and dream rather than always on business mode. ___________________________________ About Music Fit Collective We'll keep it simple.  We're empowering 10,000 musicians by 2022 to live well so they can share their gift with the world.  We are a network of musician-first health and wellness professionals, specializing in movement, nutrition and mindset for the very unique lifestyle demands of the creative. 062: "Becoming Free From Interruption" with Sombra frontman, Matthew Cataldo
What the eff does "be well" mean anyway? It seems like this past year has carved out two camps, those who lead and those who don't. Those who lead are free from interruption and the rest are still waiting for someone else to give them permission to do something.  We got to sit down with Matthew Cataldo of Montreal's Sombra, a band that makes music to turn off the lights to. They've been tearing it up this past year, and Matthew shares some of his experiences that lead to the production of "Free From Interruption". We get into how mental wellbeing and health in general plays a critical part in the rock star lifestyle. He's shown the way for others to follow and invest their time into themselves, get all weird and introspective and come out the other side with a laundry list of lessons learned. Alliteration aside, this was an awesome conversation and we're excited to share this as the pilot episode of the brand, spanking new Music Fit Podcast.  Let's do this thing! My guest and I on today's show, decide to get into the thick of things with regards to sexual imagery, body shaming and oftentimes subconscious stings that affect our expectations in many facets of our lives. 2020 just highlights it as everything has gone virtual and in an era where digital is "king" (sexist metaphor acknowledged), maybe now's a good time to make it Queen.  And as I mentioned before we start the convo, please reach out if you're feeling the heat and wanna talk. Ever heard the phrase "when you continue to have the same problem that problem is you"? You can imagine how critical it would be to have the ability to recognize patterns and disrupt the ones that'd kill you in a literal war zone. However, the daily choices we make are often disregarded as life and death situations on their own, until they pile up higher than a bunch of monks in an opium pit. Today on part 1 of my marathon chat with US Marine, Enlifted Level 2, Steel Mace Flow Level 1 with Honors and CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Doug Piller we get into the effects of language on our behaviour, how different coaching styles suit different people at different times and Doug's unique background and how he's learned from his past to move forward to be the best he can each day. 052: "Can I Do This?": The Power Of Interrogative Self-Talk
We spend a lot of time being told it's all about affirmations. You'll get everything you want if you just affirm it. I'm going to challenge that. I wanna introduce a concept called Interrogative Self-Talk - getting a conversation with ourselves going. It's super cool. Here's why: Our brain is wired to believe. So, how do we get to the place where we can believe in order to achieve? We gotta actually challenge ourselves. Rationally we then put into order and make sense of things and then work out a way to believe and therefore achieve. Try it out. Boom. 044: ATTENTION DRUMMERS!! TBT to the pilot episode of Brewdiments with Jesse Boland
In 2018 I decided I wanted to interview drummers and get their insight on their favourite beverages and what their practice routines looked like. Fact is, I want to level up my game so what better than to interview the best at what they do to see if there's a common theme... right?  I sat down with my pal Jesse Boland, fellow Los Cabos Drumstick Artist, bomb-ass drummer and coffee connoisseur on break at Arvo, downtown Toronto and this happened. Paradiddles, Moehler, Swiss Army Triplets all over an obnoxious amount of caffeine.  You can watch the full video on youtube here: Brewdiments Season 1, Episode 1: Arvo Coffee & Jesse Boland Thank you for your understanding on the background noise volume. I was learning how to mic things properly and have since seen major improvements. Your tolerance is appreciated and I just wanted to ensure you know that I know It's not my finest audio quality. Check out Jesse here. If you're in the Distillery district of Toronto, head over to Arvo. LET ME KNOW WHAT'S GOOD! If you would liek me to bring back the Brewdiments show, please, lemme know. 043: "Take The Free Squares" with Janis Isaman
Oftentimes we're told it's all gonna be hard to run our own show. Long hours and hard work are glorified as some sort of a badge of honour amongst the entrepreneurial community and to be honest, I'm sick of that shit.  Turns out my guest Janis Isaman, Movement Specialist and owner of My Body Couture is also seeing things differently from the rest. We get into how to pivot and make most of your skills. How to go where there's less dissonance and that to be successful doesn't always mean break you neck trying to outwork everyone else. Just do the shit you love and toss the rest. Easy, right? Right. Check it out. For more on Janis visit her at mybodycouture.com She's a leading specialist of movement and nutrition and will help you get back on track in your own way. One to one and virtual group options available. Get at her. She's rad. For those of you that wanna support men's mental health and suicide prevention amongst the music industry, please consider supporting my team at movember.com/miketheschwartz I'm growing a dirty 'stache to go with this sick flow and I'm swinging a kettlebell everyday this month to raise some cash for the cause.  And lastly, please take a moment of silence to reflect and pay respect to the lives lost for our freedom this Remembrance Day.

Shout out to Z-Trip for last week's conversation and turning me on to Todd Henry's "Accidental Creative". In sports, as is in life you've got to wait for your pitch. 037: Transform Your Life Through The Power of Ritual
If you want to create change you have to do something different.  I've learned this over and over again, and in today's show I speak (on a bit of a rant) about how my ritual has helped shape my current lifestyle and general state of fullfilment. There will be times when I'm happy, times when I'm less happy. Even dare I say "sad"! (For those that know me...I hear your "yeah right!"s) Shit will happen and good shit will also happen. Sticking to a ritual to give yourself time to check in with yourself is what will make the difference. You give yourself more energy and more love and that way you can show up better for everyone else and the fires they want you to fight for them on the daily.  Think about it today... are you looking for a better way and if so, are you willing to change? The current way of doing things hasn't been working, so what's it going to take? Let me know what you think! Fire me a note on IG #dailydose and please rate, review and share this episode out with someone you care about if you dig it!  I'm rainsing money for Movember to help action initiatives for men in the music industry surrounding mental health and suicide, so please head to my page and consider making a donation. 036: Monday Mindset: "Start With Why" with Simon Sinek
This week's dose of Monday Motivation comes to us from the great thought leader Simon Sinek, from his Ted Talk "Start With Why." This was one of the first talks that really clicked with how to live with purpose for me, so I hope you all get something good out of this one. Are you connecting with the relationships in your life as effectively as you want? Think about redesigning your like from the inside out, and starting with "why" you're doing something instead of what you're doing. Big game changer. 034: "Change Your Story!" with Procabulary & Enlifted Co-Founder, Mark England
Listen, your language shapes your behaviour which carries out your actions, or inaction. If you have the greatest chops on drums but you've been drilling yourself your whole life about how shitty a drummer you are, you'll never achieve the level of greatness you could.  We hold on to the stories we create in our lives forever, until we don't. 024: Daily Dose! Fun Fact Friday: Music Is A Drug!
Music is one helluva drug. If you want to get a release of dopamine and oxytocin in your brain, turn on a song you love. According to The New York Times, the “reward” part of the brain lights up when you hear music. They say “the idea that reward is partly related to anticipation (or the prediction of a desired outcome)” is a fact in neuroscience. So when you listen to a song, your brain is trying to figure out what’s going to happen next without you realizing it. Then, whether or not your brain predicts correctly, it rewards itself with a shot of good-feeling chemicals. That’s why anticipation is a great tool to use in your song. It’s the thing that gets you high on music. Music can also heal the brain There’s a thing called music therapy where licensed professionals help people with brain damage, heart problems, or with many different physical issues through the power of music. It’s especially useful for people who have trouble speaking or comprehending language, whether because of a stroke or some other brain injury. Therapists use a style of singing with certain rhythms that can help bring back the cadence of speech. The right side of the brain processes music while the left side processes language, so music therapy can help bridge the gap between the two. Music helps create new neurological pathways. According to Harvard Medical School, patients with speech problems are “capable of singing words that they cannot speak.” And that’s why using “melody and rhythm has long been recommended for improving” speech and language comprehension in patients. Original Excerpt from: https://blog.sonicbids.com/5-facts-about-music-and-the-brain Special thanks to VYEN and their tune "Dive Down" as the theme song.

In today's show, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Ben Nixon, sound technician, musician and educator residing in Calgary, AB. 015 - "Redefining the Rock Star Lifestyle" with Kathryn Hummel of Royalty Records
I know what you're thinking, "the life of a touring musician is full of endless booze, party-time all the time and non-stop fun" - really who wouldn't want to tour the world and play music? Well, herein lies the problem. We all tend to think that this lifestyle is something that it really is not. You simply wouldn't believe how arduous the road can be, both physically and mentally, it can take a toll. My guest today, Kathryn Hummel sees that lifestyle from many perspectives. As the fearless leader of Royalty Records, a national record label as well as her own artist management label: Hummel Entertainment, she wears the industry cap strong. In her seemingly limited spare time, another way Kathryn stays involved in the scene is through her contribution of health and wellness articles to the Unison Benevolent Fund blog on things we as artists can be doing to battle through the demands of the lifestyle. She leads by example, stressing the importance of connecting self-care and professionalism in the industry. That's where this conversation goes as Kathryn and I connect on many of the common issues and get some tangible solutions to the surface. Check it out!

014 "The Rock Doctor's Prescription for Peak Performance"
Yo! This week I took the opportunity to get y'all a little replay of my own webinar from last week with Canadian Musician Magazine. We discussed the key points to ensure peak performance on and off stage including tips for overcoming overstrain injuries, treating food as fuel and incorporating healthy mindset and performance behaviours to really level up your game. Here is the youtube link if you'd like to watch: https://youtu.be/BY2cDiXuSZ8 Here is the link to a bunch of cool free information to help guide you towards a healthier lifestyle amidst the chaos that is life. https://www.therockdr.com/freestuff Here is a brief description of the exercise I did if you're unable to watch the video demonstration because you're negotiating traffic and listening only to the audio version of this podcast: **The Party Trick - Your goal is to get your hands to go from underhand to overhand without actually taking your hands off of the stick. You up for it? Take a drumstick/dowel/broomstick and hold either end with your palms facing up. Make like a bicep curl and bring your right hand up towards your chin while letting your right elbow shoot out to the side, pushing down the drumstick towards your right hip. Your right hand should be awkwardly upside down with your wrist and elbow all twisted up too. There may be some mild discomfort if you're as tight as most people through the shoulder and the wrist.  Now, while your right hand is all awkward down by your hip, take the left hand and do that same maneuver. Bicep curl up towards your chin, flipping the hand down with a push towards the left hip. Feels great, right? Now with your hands upside down and all awkward, just let that stretch out your forearms. See? Your hands are now on top of the stick and you didn't remove your hands the whole time. Great work! It's a lovely pretzel like shape you've put yourself in. For an added bonus point or two, try reversing the move without taking your hands off the stick again. What you're doing is the shoulder spiral. A super effective way of moving against the stagnation we typically find ourselves at the end of the day working at a desk job or at our instruments. ** Check out more of this and all my upcoming events, including the CCMA's in Calgary, Alberta this coming September at www.therockdr.com Please reach out if you'd like to add me to your team and level up your music career. I'd love to hear from you.

012 "Between The Ditches" With Forrest Eaglespeaker of The North Sound
Keeping positive, embracing change and doing right. This is the message the 2019 Saskatchewan Country Music Association's Roots Artist of The Year nominee, The North Sound (Forrest Eaglespeaker) conveys though his music. This level of service doesn't stop at the music though, that's just one vein... and we tear into what Forrest has been doing to spread the good word and how others can help leave this place a better place than how we found it. We talk mental health, indigenous music and arts and the recent uprising and awareness in popular culture. We get into the Canadian Roots Exchange, a non-profit that Forrest works for when he's not being a rock star, aimed at bridging the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples of Canada in hopes of educating the public to grow a healthy nation free of discrimination and systemic racism.  Pretty effin' powerful stuff! We also talk shop on the recent NBA Champs, hear Forrest build his dream band and hear his single "Between The Ditches" which is currently sitting at #21 on the Indigenous Music Countdown. Learn how to be vulnerable. Embrace the uncomfortable. Let's do this thing. Here's a quick minute with drummer Chris Gormley who discussed with me the other day why he incorporates preventative exercise in his warm up ritual even on the days he's feeling fine.  Find Chris on tour with Canadian rockers The Trews (www.thetrewsmusic.com) and his own project, Daylight For Deadeyes Diggin' it? 004 Ivory Hours (Flashback Friday Edition)
We dove into the archives again for a little nostalgia with a good friend, Luke Roes of the London pop-rock band, Ivory Hours. These dudes killed it back a couple years ago when they shared a bill of a couple of local Calgary acts at the Gateway and I was blown away. Now they're all over the airwaves, just about to release some more new music. Be sure to catch the chat between Luke and I as we talk shop on what it takes to craft a song, what it means to be a working musician and we also listen to a few tracks from their 2017 "Dreamworld" album.  Check them out on Spotify and be the first to listen to their new single "Boys Club". www.ivoryhours.com Got a suggestion for a show guest or topic?
