It’s completely natural and normal for you to grow... and for your friendships to evolve as you do so. And, as Renee highlights in this episode, there is a conditioning that society pushes on us that just because you may have been friends with someone for a certain period of time, or been through a certain event together, that it means you have to stay friends forever.

Sure; friendships go through moments of needing ‘work’, open conversations and sometimes new boundaries – just like any type of relationship. But there are also times when it’s important to recognise and know when a friendship, through no fault of either party, has run its course.

This Meditation on Energetic Cord Cutting is designed to allow you to cut the cords connecting you to others in life that are draining you energetically right now.

As humans, we consistently establish energetic cords of connection with others. These energetic cords will ideally flow two ways, with energy being both given and received; but that isn't always the case. If a connection is draining you right now – maybe there's someone you can't get out of your head who's taking up mental energy, or your connection feels unhealthy energetically - use this meditation to assist in the cutting of those cords.

Disconnect from those energetically draining you, and reclaim, protect and preserve your energy.

The narrative in society emphasises a certain path one must take in order to have a ‘successful’ life. This episode is an acknowledgment of the fact that there are many different paths you can take to living a life that feels enriching and supportive.

Take us for example. Murray left school without completing Year 10. Meanwhile, Renee spent her teens at an academically selective high school, placing in the top percentile for the state in her final exams. Yet, here we both are: pulling up our seats next to each other at the same table, despite the fact that the paths that led us here are incredibly different.

And so this episode is to highlight that there are many paths available to create a life that feels successful for you.

Our recent Manifesting Weekend at Sunquncha Temple was a retreat five years in the making. It was back in 2017 that Renee first started sharing our manifesting technique as a workshop. And, well... after this recent Retreat, we have absolutely no idea how we managed to fit everything into just three hours before!

We are so grateful to those who joined us for the weekend and who dove head-first into the experience.

Taking this opportunity to reflect, we wanted to share some of our takeaways from the Retreat with you...

Murray spent his early years in and out of jail, living a life of crime. Here he shares his story of meeting himself, and overcoming his drug and alcohol addiction.

In this episode, Murray speaks about meeting and intimately knowing his shadow parts, grounding and keeping them in check with discipline (in the form of mindful movement, meditation and breathwork), and how his deep connection to spirit has helped serve as a guide for both himself and for others.

Renee answers the question she's always asked around intuition: "What if I'm just making it up?".

Here's the thing: you are making it up. Your intuition and imagination are closely linked.

In this episode, Renee speaks about embracing, enhancing and interpreting your intuition, and how the imagination bridges your conscious mind and spiritual guidance.

Renee doesn't often share this story but feels it's time to let it be seen, to let it go, and to close the loop. She also feels that it's important to share, as, although it's something a lot of people do (so unfortunately) experience, it's so rarely spoken about.

But the main reason for Renee wanting to talk about this is because, amongst several other things, her daily yoga practice is really what helped her move through to the other side of her PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

Let’s talk manifesting. It's our thing. Sure, we're known for yoga, meditation, and for running retreats. But the thing we do really well is manifest. And teach others how.

We're living examples of our manifestation process. If you've been following us for a while now, you'll be witness to all that we've manifested in a very short period of time. Four years ago, we were the new kids on the block. Now? We have a thriving yoga studio and retreat space, live in our dream home, and have a beautiful family unit.

Today we're talking about the ego, and how it potentially plays tricks on us from time to time.

In a Spiritus breathwork session today, Renee - who's currently in facilitator training with Tim Morrison and Murray - experienced a moment where her ego put up a fight.

So why does the ego push back against the subconscious coming to light? And how do you identify when it's happening?

Who actually knows what happens when we pass?

Well, Renee feels that she does - although she doesn't have a personal experience of having done it, she's spent the past few decades hearing from those who have. Plus, Murray shares his experience of saying goodbye to Renee, to his family, to his friends, and to this world, as he moved towards the light.

When Renee first moved back to Newcastle, her intention behind her desire to build a community wasn't to build a business; she just wanted to connect with a group of like-minded people. At first, she couldn't find that group, so she put the pin in the map for full moon meditations on the beach and attracted a community of people who all had this as common ground and who could each offer something. This has ended up being the foundation for what Renee and Murray have built since.

This morning, we started a conversation around the idea of diluting yourself. It's something we've both experienced: that behaviour of diluting and minimising the authentic parts of ourselves to fit in and feel accepted and worthy.

When we're in a state of fear, we have a tendency to create masks, facades and stories in an attempt to be able to better connect. But, in actual fact, in doing so we are creating more disconnection, more confusion, and less authenticity. Living as a chameleon inevitably leads to more frustration.

So, here is your full permission, from us, to be weird.

April is a huge month of celebration for us, especially this year: Open Mind Space turns 4, Sunquncha turns 1, and we celebrate our own Birthdays, too (including Murray's 40th)!

This month is also an opportunity for reflection and gratitude for us. Whenever we sit in the studio or dome, it's such a 'pinch me' moment. So we'd like to express our gratitude.

What is this 'balance' that we are all searching for? 

Recently we’ve been working with the theme of change – how to move through it, and how to support yourself in the process. And something Murray has witnessed, both in our clients and the world more broadly, is the idea and pursuit of “balance”. The fairy tale.
