Ep 181: From Fire to Focus: 3 Ways to Stay Grounded in a Natural Disaster šš¬ļø
When natural disasters strike like the tragic LA Fires have, we face immense pressureānot just to protect our lives and what matters to us, but it extends to how we show up in everything we do.
This time to me feels very similar to Sep. 11th in NYC, where I watched the 2nd tower fall from the DoubleClick HQ and flying in that AM from visiting my Mom in Syracuse, NY. I wasn't sure sure how to move forward, what to expect, or how I could help. This feels a lot like that time to me.
This episode was difficult to make - I struggled with the right words to share, or how to say things, and be grounded myself. I debated to just scrap it or to publish - is it helpful or even enough, I asked?
Listening back it is a bit somber however I stand behind what I share in that we can all do ourselves the honor of showing up - first for ourselves, and then for others.
Thank you for listening, and please offer whatever you can - maybe prayers, donations, or time in what you can manage. I find CNN's impact page helpful for choices to donate or how to support - there are many options.
š What Youāll Learn:
- The role of self-awareness in understanding your emotional triggers during a crisis. š§āāļø
- How to practice emotional regulation to remain calm and focused under pressure. š¬ļø
- Ways to shift from reactivity to intentionality, making values-driven decisions even in uncertainty. š¤
- The ripple effect of your emotional stability on your team and company culture. š

Ep. 169 Unlocking Fulfillment: How Top Leaders Can Thrive in Fast-Paced Times
As a high performing corporate leader in your work and impact, are you aware of how to feel more fulfilled at work, regardless ofā¦
- How busy you get
- What your top priorities of the day are
- What project or deadlines on your plate
- Or in the face of a specific challenge - whether itās a co-worker, a boss, or teammate?
I know what youāre thinkingā¦
Feeling fulfilled can seem mushy and soft, not productive, or that you're too emotional.
However, what if instead of having those judgements, you actually did feel fulfilled and calm, no matter what your daily agenda held?
In business, we are taught (historically) to
- Not bring our emotions to work - dismissing whatās going on all the time or avoiding dealing with difficult conversations, people, or challenges.
- To āstick to the numbersā and get the job done
- Work hard, long hours to prove ourselves
While these ways got you to where you are today, what will get you to your next level of leadership - operating from a core foundation of feeling more clear, relaxed and confident - isnāt this.
Itās an ok place to be, but honestly there is sooo much more waiting for you.
š > You start showing up feeling confident and fired up because youāve learned how to master your EQ and plug into your deeper desires that can fuel you, instead of burn you out or leave you in overwhelm!
That means:
- Feeling good about work again and living on your terms.
- Being authentic and not being afraid to say no.
- Not having judg-y or critic mind thoughts that zap your confidence.
Have a listen, and decide for yourself. What can you do to show up in service and self-compassionately to your inner leader, who feeds that outer leader?
