In this long anticipated episode of The Pod People, we celebrated our 30th episode with the epic film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Released in 2003, this film features Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany, along with some other faces that you might recognize. This film takes place during the Napoleonic Wars, Russell Crowe playing Captain Jack Aubrey of the British vessel the H.M.S. surprise is chasing down a French vessel, this adventure takes them around the tip of South America and beyond.

In this episode, we watched Arachnophobia, if you weren't afraid of spiders, you will be now. In this 1990 film, we see Jeff Daniel's character Dr. Ross Jennings fighting an army of spiders in order to reclaim his farm. We also get an appearance from John Goodman as the exterminator. Even Tomás who is scared of spiders gave this one a thumbs up, hope you enjoy listening.

In this episode we watched The Untouchables, a classic gangster movie featuring quite a notable list of names associated with it, both on and offscreen. From Robert De Niro as Al Capone to Ennio Morricone who wrote the very compelling score for this movie. This movie follows Al Capone in the time of Prohibition as he is running his empire, he is being pursued by Treasury Agent Elliot Ness (Kevin Costner) who is accompanied by Officer Jim Malone (Sean Connery) and George Stone (Andy Garcia). We see how Al Capone is brought down by "The Untouchables" in an effort to enforce Prohibition laws. There are many other surprises and recognizable faces not mentioned here so this movie is definitely worth a watch if you have not seen this movie before.

In this episode we watched Rush Hour, a Tomás pick so you know we made him host this episode. This movie is a buddy cop comedy featuring Chris Tucker who plays LAPD Detective Carter and none other than Jackie Chan as Inspector Lee from China. In this film, the daughter of the Chinese consul, Soo Yung, has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. We watch as the seemingly unlikely duo of Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan chase clues throughout downtown Los Angeles to try to rescue Soo Yung, along the way forging a friendship and truly becoming partners.

Lars and the Real Girl is a touching film about the difficult emotion of love. In the film we see how love affects all of the relationships in Lars' life even if he doesn't realize it. This movie is a little off the beaten path but it's endearing and just makes you feel good. Bonus you get Ryan Gosling which is always a treat. This is one you will certainly enjoy checking out.

It’s a simple concept and a really fun time. If you want a great body count and an interesting killer with a power drill, this is the movie. The 1980s were a simpler time when a movie could be dumb fun and people wouldn’t get in a tizzy. I hope you guys love slashers as much as I do because this is one not to miss for fans of the genre. In this episode we watched Snowpiercer, a movie based on a French graphic novel. It is the end of the world, the Earth has frozen over and is covered in snow, the only people left are on a train that circumnavigates the globe. It is a story of the haves and the have nots as the poor people are crammed in the back, while the upper class along with the decision makers get to enjoy the spacious comfort and luxury of the front cars. Tired of their crammed and powerless positions, the lower class decides to revolt against the upper class to get an equal share of what is theirs.

This week we watched Anaconda (1997)! In this film we see a documentary film crew on an expedition down the Amazon to find the Shirishamas tribe. The only problem is there is a rather large snake hunting them along the way. Will the crew find the people of the mist? What are Serone’s true intentions? Will anybody survive? This film stars a lot of awesome people including Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson! With me for this journey is Tomas which always makes these shows better. This week we watched Chicken Run (2000)! In this film we see the numerous escape attempts of Ginger and the rest of the Tweedy’s Farms chickens from Tweedy’s Farm which is run by the evil Mrs. Tweedy. As the farm takes a new deadly direction the chickens are seemingly saved by a new rooster named Rocky. However, things may not be a safe as they would hope. This week we watched Drive (2011)! In this film we see a driver do several types of driving. Our hero finds himself in a mess that he must struggle to get himself out of. This movie is amazing and no description I can give can accurately pin down why it is so awesome. You’re just going to have to trust me on this one. This week’s episode is My Bloody Valentine (2009)! This is a remake of the 1981 horror classic of the same name and it was in 3D! In this film we see the town of Harmony ten years after a violent massacre that occurred on Valentine’s Day by the maniac Harry Warden. The people of Harmony are still dealing with the tragedy as Tom Hanniger comes back to town to close the mine. This apparently triggers a series of new murders by Harry Warden. Is Harry Warden back? Will Tom close the mine after all? What is really going on in Harmony? All of these questions and more will be answered right now on Zack’s Corner! In this episode we watched Ninotchka, a movie from the 1930's featuring Greta Garbo, Melvyn Douglas, and a small appearance by Bela Lugosi. In the shadow of WW2 a female Soviet diplomat comes to Paris on a mission to recover diamonds from a former Russian aristocrat. She is delayed in her mission by the attentions of a spoiled kept man who falls for the icy Soviet agent. In a tale of Capitalism versus Communism and head versus heart, Ninotchka is a comedy for the ages.

In this film we see Helen Lyle as she investigates the urban legend of the Candyman. She soon realizes the legend is very real as the Candyman slowly tries to seduce her into being his next victim.
