Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys just might start a mukbang OF if you're willing to pay for it.
Marcus has left his former job and doesn't know what to do with his time until he starts his new one.
Sefa doesn't enjoy the cartoonish violence in TV and movies because it can definitely still mess you up mentally.
The Pod Boys talk about culture again when a young Pasefika woman put out a TikTok explaining that she loves being Poly but doesn't like the culture.
A little contradictory but whatever.
Sefa reminisces about American Samoa's Flag Day and how rowdy they can really get.

The Pod Boys then talk about the discourse surrounding actor Vairrun Strickland, who was shown to have a Samoan pe'a (sogaimiti) when he posed on the cover of Playboy.
Sefa wonders if the Drake vs. Everybody beef will stay hip-hop or if things will escalate because it's getting a little personal out here.

Way Back Whensday | Ch. 17 - Nickelodeon
SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rugrats, all certified classics and all from a television channel made specifically for kids: Nickelodeon. We give a history of how it started as a commercial-free cable package add-on and needed a messy rebrand (SPLAT!) to jumpstart its build into a household mainstay that simulcasted the last Super Bowl. We talked all the classics above plus Hey Arnold! and All That, digitizing VHS tapes, gave an explanation of the premise of Avatar, tell you which one of Drake & Josh is a creep, and then listed off a bunch of shows that you're sure to remember. Let Sefa know if you want him to send you that video he's talking about.
Way Back Whensday is a nostalgic conversation podcast hosted by two California-bred Samoans that reminisces about all the things you remember. Sefa M and Lance Faletogo head down memory lane to give their stories and facts on everything from The Lion King soundtrack selling almost 5M copies in 1994 to how to best apply The Sharpshooter submission. You'll say "Oh yup, I remember that" or be screaming the answers to things we forget lol. New episodes every other Friday on The Polytickin Network. #WBW

Episode 56: Against All Odds
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are juiced about this one!
Sefa visited the doctor and finally got a diagnosis on his runny nose. Turns out he has a deviated septum.
Marcus once again headed back to The Sanctuary for their fourth open mic and was humbled by his terrible performance.
The Pod Boys then get into Against All Odds, the Netflix documentary centering around Australian drill rap pioneers ONEFOUR. They had a whole lot of love to give and are 100 percent behind them boys.
Sefa watched an interview with Young Go and was disappointed by the lack of homework the hosts did on such a big artist within the community. Do better.
The boys then end it on a bittersweet note as they give their flowers to the recently deceased Matthew Perry, who they commend on using his platform to highlight his lows and help people struggling with addiction.

Episode 55: Oscar Knightley and Marcus Daily
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are cooking!
Marcus had an eventful day 20 minutes into his shift and now he might just be a judgmental jerk.
Sefa has been watching The Cosby Show and now he's nostalgic for a time he wasn't even born in.
The Pod Boys then talk about the Homelands Festival in New Zealand and was excited for the lineup.
Ya'll gonna see the Pod Boys over there next year for sure.
They then give props to Disney and their cruise for visiting American Samoa, a boon to the tourist economy out there.
The boys then figure out what character would they be best at and it's already decided that Marcus would make a great Mr. Popo.

Episode 54: Ya'll Some Mid-Mids
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys have been going through things but who isn't?
Marcus wishes everybody a Happy National Bosses Day and he gets into it about staffing and temp agencies. Ol' entitled ass foo.
Sefa exposed himself as a trench baby when he reveals he rented his furniture back home in Sacramento. Who's really right here?
The Pod Boys then get into Jada Pinkett Shakur and her undying need to talk about any and everything. She doesn't have anything to promote but Will and Jada didn't sign a prenup so...?
They then get into the mailbag and try to answer questions without putting people out on front street. The boys are gonna air their own dirty laundry out first.
What's the difference between love then and now?

Episode 53: The Golden Bachelor
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are coming up on one year of the show. It's kinda crazy.
You know what else is crazy? Marcus' worst Halloween costume ever. It's hard to be Goku when you look like Uncle Phil.
Sefa graduated from the Community Learning Program and laments about the good ol' days when all we had to worry about was homework.
The Pod Boys then get into the uso Monstah206's post about the state of Polynesian rappers. It's unfair to lump them all together like it's just us who sounds like this when in all reality it's just young artists figuring out their sound.
We are who we're influenced by, I guess.
Marcus then speaks on the incident that happened in a McDonald's in Harbor City involving a Samoan woman named Ariana Lauifi and her inexcusable actions against 13-year-old Kassidy Jones.
The discourse surrounding this video morphed into things that are irrelevant to what's going on. Just know that that woman has to sit with her actions and consequences forever.
What's your best/worst Halloween costume?

Episode 52: Vulnerability is Strength
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are here so where are you?
Marcus went to church for the first time in months for his Uncle's 90th birthday but didn't have a dollar for the offering plate. Good job.
Sefa celebrated Truth and Reconciliation Day and has been learning the similarities between Pasefika and Native American culture.
The Pod Boys talk about strength and weakness within the Pasefika community in relation to the loss of a loved one.
Sometimes telling people to be strong can hinder them from growing through their grief.
Sefa was befuddled by the fact that the legend Aaradhna had her start time moved to the opening act during Promiseland, a yearly festival in Australia headlined by Lauryn Hill.
How familiar are you with Taylor Swift's popularity?

Episode 51: Stick to the Theme
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are hungry. That is all.
Marcus went to the open mic hosted by The Sanctuary and it was a success. He's glad he went.
Sefa has been attending the Community Learning Program at his job and he cannot fathom how we used to sit in class for 8 hours a day as kids.
The Pod Boys then get into the wild video of a man in Samoa being tied up and carried like a pig about to be roasted. The charge? For cursing at the local pastor for building pigsty on his land without permission.
Even with context, this video is gross.

Episode 50: What Comes With It?
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys have become forward-thinkers so good on them I guess.
Marcus finally read The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin miniseries and loved it. Too bad it reminded of him of his days being called Marcolangelo.
Sefa is happy to report the success of Poly Feast he went to on Sunday and proposes the idea of dance troupes doing the same to get some money out here.
The Pod Boys then revisit the discussion they had last week about the Tongan brother applying corporal punishment to his trifling sister. The community had a lot to say about it and it pissed Sefa off.
Shout out to learning.
The boys talk about their fantasy football teams and Sefa wants nothing to do with anyone unless their team is 2-0.

Episode 49: What Culture Do Y'all Steal From?
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are recording on 9/11. Never forget.
Marcus sent an unsolicited wave on TikTok and he feels icky about it.
Sefa has plans on heading to the Pacific Peoples Partnership feast going down on Sunday and he's just in it for the food.
The Pod Boys then get into the latest Poly Twitter drama, pitting NZ/AUS against the US Polynesians over fashion of all things. The drama evolves into a debate on culture and who steals what from whom, again.
We need to argue about something else.
Marcus then gives his flowers to Moemoana Schwenke, this year's winner of the Miss Samoa pageant. The boys have been getting put on game about these pageants so now they wanna go to more.
The boys then speak on the tragic domestic violence incident that happened in Samoa concerning one Dorothy Ropeti, who was killed by her husband and subsequently killed himself while in custody.
What do you guys think of when you come across stories like this?

Episode 48: Happy Manual Labor Day
Welcome back to another episode of The Polytickin' Podcast! The Pod Boys are gonna out-white glove ya'll for real.
They finally announced a winner for Aloha Day and Marcus still doesn't care because his company can't win the vacation anyway.
Sefa discovered his latent racism when out at one of his favorite sushi spots.
The Pod Boys then get into the discourse around The Rock and Oprah creating a fund with a goal of 10 million dollars to go towards the victims of the Lahaina wildfire. People are so entitled nowadays.
Get up and grab a ladle.
They then speak on the hilarious irony on display when it comes to disciplining kids who aren't ours.
What would you do if another man slapped your son in front of you?
