We are adding more to our compete program 60-90min full of effect programming: whether you are competing for sport, life, to be better at outdoor activities or against your past self. The compete program's goal used to be just for the sport of fitness, but now we want to incorporate all aspects of fitness, we want you to:
be strong like a powerlifter
be explosive and move like a weightlifter
look skilled and function like a crossfitter
be conditioned like an endurance athlete
and look like a lean aesthetic athletic

Treat Your Fitness Like a Savings Account - #MotivationMonday 9-9-19
It is a very common mistake to look at each rep, set, even training session/workout as good or bad/ success or failure but that is a microscope view of what is really happening! Take a grander, bigger picture approach to your fitness which can be relatable to a savings account!
If you are trying to get your first bar muscle up each practice rep, each different drill, etc is a small deposit into that bar muscle savings account. While it can be frustrating and seem like you aren't making progress with each attempt and each drill you are making little deposits which will eventually lead to a withdraw in purchase of that Bar Muscle Up!
Some might also see it through strength training: let's say you are doing a 5x5 back squat and are only able to get 3/5 reps on your final set. Most would see that as a failure, however you cannot discount those previous 23 reps before the "failure" occurred. Those reps are helping you get closer to your goal, hence deposits in to that stronger squat savings account!

Every Result from Training is Information - #MotivationMonday 7-22-19
In today’s short form podcast we are talking about how the majority of people who train consistently have a results based outcome mentality versus a process based outcome mentality! We are advocates for a balance of both. In today’s world and on this platform especially we are glorified for setting PRs (personal records) which is awesome but can sometimes lead to constant disappointment. We advocated to our members that all outcomes of training are neither good or bad but it can all be information. Especially as your “training age” continues to grow!
EX: you don’t set a PR on your next max back squat attempt, instead of chalking it up as a failure or disappointment think about all the different factors for why you weren’t able to PR. Then use those tools to help to improve your next attempt.

Over this past weekend we got to attend the National NSCA Conference where we got to sit down and interview Taylor Dinyer a PhD Student at the University of Kentucky getting her degree in Exercise Physiology. Taylor has also been a long time member of The Process from the beginning with our Compete programming for her own fitness! 004 - Crossfit Age Group Online Qualifier with Masters Athlete Jimmie Rucker
We recently sat down with Jimmie Rucker the last time we traveled back to Kansas City and of course Beyond the Lines Crossfit! Jimmie has been one of our original members that got started with us through our Weakness Wod service 2 years ago and has since moved onto to our Compete program combined with Individual Design. He has a great mind for goal setting and playing the "long game"! We talk about how 3 years ago he set a goal of qualifying for the Crossfit Games Age Group Online Qualifier (the second step for qualifying for the crossfit games, only the top 200 in that age group get invited) when he turned 35 and could jump into that category...Well he did just that and we talk about that experience and how he made that goal a reality!
