#18: One Year Later- Honoring All Feelings of the Pandemic Anniversary

#18: One Year Later- Honoring All Feelings of the Pandemic Anniversary

In this episode we will be talking about the anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic and discussing how anniversaries of stressful or traumatic experiences may bring up the same emotions that were felt/experienced at the time of the stressful or traumatic event. This last year has definitely been one of collective trauma in which everyone has been impacted in one way or another; from losing the social connections we had, to losing loved ones to covid-19, to transitioning to working at home for individuals that were able to do this, to taking so many safety precautions, a rise in issues with mental health, to social justice movements & political chaos that showed us again how oppressive the systems we navigate are. There is a lot of grief associated with what was lost over the past year and we will also discuss that, as well as our own experiences related to the last year… We want to state that if you are not emotionally ready to listen to information on the one year anniversary of the pandemic, feel free to skip this episode and take care of yourself as best as you can. We look forward to connecting with you on Instagram (@therapytalks.clp) where you can share with us your thoughts on this episode. *The music on this episode is “Verano Sensual” by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/5049-verano-sensual License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

#15: “New Year, New Me”— A Different Perspective on New Year Expectations

#15: “New Year, New Me”— A Different Perspective on New Year Expectations

In this episode, we will reflect on 2020 and the new energy that some people may feel around a new year. We focus on the importance of having intentions versus having resolutions as well as our personal belief that we do not have to change so much of ourselves just because it’s a new year. You are enough and you are whole exactly as you are right now, and as you were at the end of 2020. We can have intentions for our well-being but doing it because you feel that you are not enough or you have to constantly change a part of who you are, may not be what you need. As always, be kind and compassionate to yourself. We hope you enjoy this episode.
