The Reformist Pipeline

By The Reformist Pipeline

The Reformist Pipeline, or TRP, a platform that serves as a pipeline between educators/the education system and muggles (non-educators). TRP is a space for people to be educated on what’s actually going on in schools beyond the use of traditional buzzwords like “school to prison pipeline” and not really know what that looks like in context. This platform also promotes transparent support for parents who may need assistance navigating the school system. The most important piece is the call to action in which suggestions will be provided on how listeners can promote reform.

Let’s Talk Religion: Spirituality and Christianity from a Chaplain’s Lens

Let’s Talk Religion: Spirituality and Christianity from a Chaplain’s Lens

Whoop you guessed it! Yep, we decided to take things where people haven’t been before. The taboo of Religion and Spirituality and the separation of Church and State…well we didn’t go that far. However, TUNE IN! Because if you are ready to work through some of your experiences in the church and look at it from a lens of a Chaplain, then you found the right place to do that.

Take a listen in to learn more and share with someone who needs to be educated about yet another important topic.

Call to Action

This week’s call to action is for you to think about these questions:

  1. How do we create this space where we can be different?
  2. How do we create this space value ourselves and value one another’s lives?
  3. What would a world look like where people had the skills to tell their stories and people use that KEY skill of listening?

C to the R to the T…Critical Race Theory!

C to the R to the T…Critical Race Theory!

Yep, we’re back for yet another episode filling y’all in on ALL the taboo topics in education and more broadly in our society. We know that the buzz phrase that people have been throwing around for the past couple of years is Critical Race Theory a.k.a CRT, so imagine an informational setting where you get to learn about CRT while also getting caught up on what all the drama with CRT is about…yep that’s what this episode is. In addition to defining the WHAT we dive into the “WHO, WHERE, WHEN, WHY,…and the HOW!”

Take a listen if you’ve heard the buzz phrase and want to learn more. Take a listen if you know what CRT is, but have some thoughts and want to challenge our perspectives. Take a listen if you have never heard about any of this, but want to be a vehicle to reform our education system. As we dive into CRT with our amazing guest Isaac Agbeshie-Noye, we also discuss the ramifications of erasing American History.

Call to Action

This week’s call to action is for you to use the resources below to learn more about Critical Race Theory. Additionally, we want you to think about attending a School Board Meeting or finding other ways to invest in your local schools. Invest BEFORE you have kids.

Special Education Mini-Series Ep.1: Take a Trip Through History!

The Reformist Pipeline is finally here with their very first mini-series with a focus on SPECIAL EDUCATION! This episode highlights some important events in Special Education History. These are very important to know and understand as we continue to enlighten you around the subject throughout the duration of our mini-series.

Call to Action

During this episode we highlighted a few important resources that we would like for you to familiarize yourself with to deepen your understanding of where we started in regards to rights for people with disabilities. We hope this will help our listeners understand how far we have come as a nation, but also be aware of how much farther we have to go.

This week's call to action is for you to take a deeper dive in to the resources we touched on throughout the episode.

  • Check out the The National Disability Rights Network website: It's a great place to find more stories about Brad Lomax and Black Disability Rights.
  • Research "The Willowbrook institution" on Youtube: This is where children with disabilities were sent to receive an “education” but actually weren’t equitably given the same opportunity as their traditionally developing peers. There are plenty of videos to browse through!
  • Netflix is another great resource to watch films such as "Crip Camp", which will give you more information on how the disability rights movement began.

We can fix this! Our call to action is for YOU to do one of the following for a teacher that you most admire in order to show your love and appreciation for all of the work that they do!

2. Monetary donations are always appreciated by ANY educators seeing as though Teachers are always going the extra mile and digging into their pockets to create the perfect environment for their students!

3. Gifts! Send your favorite teacher a gift! A cool statement T-shirt, an E-gift card or even just some flowers will warm your favorite educator's heart.
